Such a great preview! One of my favorite things is perusing books that are coming out soon and this was so much fun to get a peek into many of the best books arriving for fall/winter 2022. Thanks for allowing me to participate!
Thank you to the publisher, Publishers Lunch, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of Buzz Books 2022: Fall/Winter 2022 in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
The Gist
This is the second Buzz Books publication I perused. And I have to say I’m a little underwhelmed.
It is nobody’s fault. It just appears like not many books are going to get published in the upcoming Fall/Winter season.
I took a quick look at the 2020 edition I still had on my Kindle and there were a lot more books from a wider range of genres listed.
The Details
I noticed that in the current edition there are four subsections: fiction, debut, nonfiction, and young adult. Each section contains a handful of upcoming publications. That’s it.
I do appreciate the inclusion of the cover page, if it has already been decided on. The lengthy excerpts are also very helpful in deterring, if a book speaks to the reader.
The Verdict
Overall, this is a decent list of publications to look forward to this coming Fall/Winter season.
So many books to choose from in this edition of Buzz Books. I've added too many to my TBR and requested a few from Netgalley. I love the way these Buzz Books are set out with the books sorted into the appropriate categories and excerpts from some of the books included. Now all I need is more hours in the day!
Great to get so many samples of upcoming reads, but I wished it had been more geared to UK readers. Many of the titles featured were not available on UK NetGalley.
Buzz Books does it again! A tantalizing look at the terrific reads headed our way this Fall/Winter. Treat yourself to the sampling!
Many thanks to Buzz Books for the early read.
Love these samples of upcoming books! I'm able to get a taste of what books will be coming out and from this, I'm able to decide which titles to order. Totally recommend!
Interesting compilation of writers, most of whom I haven’t read. This book is a good way to see what’s coming and what you might want to read.
I enjoyed finding out what books I would like to read that are upcoming months.
The title was set up in an easy to use manner. Items like this are nice because they can help one discover books one might not know about merely because of the vast amount of books that are published weekly. I know librarians and book sellers see something like this so it is nice that people outside of those professions can get a similar experience.
I always love reading the Buzz Books preview and was so excited to read this one. Publishers Lunch picks amazing titles to preview. My only request would be for more mysteries and thrillers, but if you are looking for the hottest new titles, this is the place to preview them!
I always love these collections as the perfect way to see what I should/need to preorder for the coming year. This is another great example of what is to come for fall/winter 2022!
Each season I look forward to reading the excerpts that are available in the Buzz Books! The 2022 Fall/Winter edition has some that I am really excited to read, but Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney and The Lost Girls of Willowbrook by Ellen Marie Wiseman stand out most.
Thank you for the preview!
A book with some books and excerpts from them in order to attract readers not only with the summary and the cover of these books. It includes also a small about the author section with some promotion information. It's a really helpful "guide", very informative. I also like the fact that works also as a form of recommendations. I would definately like to read something like this again. It helped me know more about the books that includes and gave me a hand while I was choosing some gifts for fellow bookworms!!!
Thanks for this opportunity to preview a wide variety of books! I always look forward to these compilations.
Buzz Books is hazardous to my tbr. But for real: Buzz Books is a great resource for anyone who wants to know what books are on the horizon.
Buzz Books offers a list of soon-to-be-published titles along with their authors, publishers, and planned publication dates. (I love looking up those whose titles catch my eye -- and learning of new books from familiar authors!) There also are excerpts from forthcoming books; these are categorized into fiction, debut, nonfiction, and young adult. (There is a linked table of contexts, so the reader can go directly to a particular excerpt without needing to page through.)
There are so many books I'm excited about this fall/winter, from Dr. No by Percival Everett to Age of Vice by Deepti Kapoor, not to mention new titles from Kevin Wilson, Barbara Kingsolver, and Candice Carty-Williams. I'm especially grateful to Buzz Books for putting some forthcoming nonfiction on my radar: It's Not TV, My People, The World Deserves My Children, and A Pros and Cons List for Strong Feelings.
Buzz Books is available free from any major e-bookstore.
Appreciate the access to this to add books to my radar - excellent summary and well balanced.
Would be interested in seeing the spring/summer version of this.
These are great. I always enjoy seeing what will be coming out soon and really appreciate the wide range of books included.
This collection of upcoming books is a great way to get a feel and read on new releases that are anticipated at the beginning and half way through the year.
I absolutely love to plan ahead in relation to reading books that are new and trending. This guide was perfect for sampling many new and current authors that would otherwise have missed my radar. I have my favourites picked out and eagerly await what they have in store. Thank you.
Get to see what’s coming, read chapters, and request ARCS. a highlight of my reading plans. These booklets are not only essential, but they are also a delight for every reader.
Covers, summaries, excerpts, and marketing plans for a diverse collection of books releasing in the fall and winter of this year. The books range from non-fiction to young adult, debut authors to old standbys (looking at John Irving). Also includes links for requesting the books on NetGalley. These Buzz Books anthologies are always dangerous to my already out of control TBR list.
