I am really excited to learn about this series of twisted, modernized fairy tales! The combination of the graphic novel format and video game setting will appeal to many young readers, especially those who may struggle to find the "just right" book for them. There is a good balance between text and illustration, with bright colors and action that will be reminiscent of many video games. At first, I thought the story felt a bit short, but it actually is likely just right for the intended audience! If they leave begging for more, then the rest of the series would be a great place to direct them.

A refreshing comic. Graphics and story are new and relatable. It's a retelling of the Snow Queen fable. You will love the characters and want more. Would make an excellent animated series as well.

I love the graphics in this novel. It makes me feel like I am in a video game!

It is so intriguing that this is set in the future. Like with real hoverboards, robots, VR, etc. I wonder how I would do riding an actual hoverboard. Probably not as good as Kaden.

S.N.O.W looks like an adult EVE from WAll-E. Except definitely not as nice.

What a great story about friendship and doing anything for the ones you love!

A twisted tale based on Snow Queen. This story follows two best friends and their quest into gaming. I am a fan of this series. I have read almost all of them and every one offers a new and fun twist to a classic fairy tale or fable. Snow Queen's Gaming Quest is no exception. The art is cute. I love the bright colors. The story is fun. I think my students will get a big kids out of it. I do love that the end of each book in this series includes questions and facts about the story.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

The Snow Queen's Gaming Quest by Kesha Grant is an awesome superhero graphic novel for kids that will appeal to fans of Spider-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy. The story revolves around ordinary kids and best friends Gabby and Kaden. One day, a rogue AI traps Kaden in the digital realm. It's up to Gabby to go into the game and save her friend.

Overall, The Snow Queen's Gaming Quest is a nice #ownvoices graphic novel. One highlight of this book is that it is written by a black author and features black characters. I think it's so important to celebrate diversity in graphic novels and this book definitely does that.

Another highlight is the amazing and vibrant art. There were points where I thought I was reading a real Marvel comic for kids. The art was that good. If you're intrigued by the description, or if you're a fan of children's superhero comics, I highly recommend that you check out this book when it comes out in August!

It was both a nice and interesting retelling of the original fairy-tale (I like the author included notes at the end that state the original fairy-tale's story line and what elements got remixed) and in general a very cool high tech gaming universe setting.
