I enjoyed this book for turning my brain off after reading thrillers the last couple of months. I would’ve liked it to be a bit more fast paced but overall I enjoyed it.

This was my first Sarah Adams book and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be reading more of her books. Sarah's style of writing is easy to follow and drags you into the story. It was a delightful rom com.

This was SO sweet. I love a good “girl from the big city falls for small town man”, and this totally did the trick. Also very much a fan of forced proximity, and this had that in spades.

I love that Amelia is such a die-hard Audrey Hepburn fan (but also who isn’t??) and that Roman Holiday is her inspo for going to Rome, Kentucky! Didn’t totally get Gregory Peck vibes from Noah, but I guess we can’t have everything. 😅

I love that it’s going to be a series and we’ll get his sisters’ love stories - I do wish that she had set those up more by introducing the chemistry between the characters. Like, I assume (hope) one of them is secretly in love with Noah’s best friend, James, but there was no indication of that?

But I did love all of the side characters (very much Stars Hollow vibes, if you know you know) so I’m excited for them to continue playing a role in the follow ups!

I absolutely adore Sarah Adams and her writing. The writing is genius, Adams sets the scene for what to think, see and in this case smell. Each of the characters is someone you fall in love with, from the grouchy old lady to the younger sisters. Every character served a purpose. I did feel like the ending was a little too sudden, but otherwise a truest amazing novel.

4.5/5 ☆

This book was so fun. I know it was a spin on Roman Holiday, but it also reminded me of Doc Hollywood where Michael J. Fox crashes into someone's front yard and has to help out a small town before his car gets fixed. I enjoyed the characters and the grump/sunshine vibes. I also liked how it touched on aspects of relationship drama, whether that's in romantic relationships or working relationships. I thought both were shown very well. Overall, this was a great book and I'd definitely recommend it to others.

UGH this was the perfect rom com that gave me ALL the butterflies. I loved the character development and relationship dynamic between Amelia and Noah. I went in thinking that I knew what was going to happen and why they wouldn't be able to be together because HELLO shes a Pop star and he's a small town grumpy baker.. but y'all. I was obsessed and could not put this book down. This slow-burn romance was absolutely perfect. Reading about a grumpy man who is actually a teddy bear who loves flowers was the pick me up that I needed to get back into reading romances. Sarah Adams can do no wrong in my book, I have loved all of her books so far, this one included, and I cant wait to see what she comes up with next! 4.5/5

When in Rome was a cute surprise of a book, Sarah Adams just doesn't disappoint!

The book covers many great ropes:
- small town romance
- celebrity / normal person
- forced proximity
- grumpy / sunshine

The surrounding characters were adorable and really filled out the town. It was truly a Hallmark movie as a book, a warm hug for sure, while still being truly funny! Sarah Adams really only does closed door, which isn't my fav, but she should be a go to for anyone looking for less spice!

This book was an absolute delight. It’s so tender and emotional and FUNNY. The banter is golden. Amelia is such a loveable little weirdo and I enjoyed every minute of it. Noah is a grumpy cinnamon roll of a man. He’s stoic and closed off, but his heart is so big. The town of Rome is the best little southern Stars Hollow you could imagine. I fell in love with this little town just as much as Amelia. I simply couldn’t put this story down. The stakes are real. The conflict is real. It isn’t dramatic. It’s not miscommunication. It’s just messy life. I think that’s what made this story so achingly real for me. And gosh do I love when an author manages to make my heart physically ache while reading. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC to review.

This one is not on my priority list but I was really curious because I didn’t enjoy The Cheat Sheet and some of my friends were talking about it being better than the Cheat Sheet! I regret not reading this sooner! When in Rome has great banter, well-developed characters, light with a bit of angsty side about family issues. I admit there are moments when Noah annoyed the heck out but his POV gives me butterflies all over my stomach. This book is definitely slow burn because they have rules not to get attached and stay as friends because it will complicate things but it was exciting to read that burning feeling of stopping themselves from falling in love with each other.
We meet Amelia who is a Pop star and a city girl. She's so burned out from her job that she ran away to rest and find herself because she was always known as Rae Rose the pop star but not as Amelia. Noah is a grumpy pie shop owner. She then meets this guy Noah out of some inconvenience. OR MAYBE IT'S DESTINY. Noah finds Amelia in his front lawn with a smoking car and ends up letting her stay at his place.

Overall, I enjoyed this book so much! I want to thank netgalley, Sarah Adams & Random House Publishing for providing me with an E-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was so cute! I really enjoyed this small town romance. It was fun to follow a pop star that felt like a little bit of a fish out of water in a small rural town. All of the characters were super likable and the romance was really sweet. I enjoyed the family aspects as well, which brought in some really great side characters. This is the perfect light-hearted, fun romance and I totally understand why people love this author so much.

Sarah Adams has become such a comfort author for me! I absolutely love her! I am usually not a fan of “closed door” romances, but she will always be my exception!

Inspired by her love of Audrey Hepburn, when Amelia needs a break from her hectic life she needs to Rome, but the one in Kentucky. She is not expecting to meet Noah, or call for him. He has been hurt before by someone from the city so.do they have a chance?
Great read and great characters, especially Noah's sisters!

Princess of pop, Rae Rose (whose real name is Amelia Rose) has everything she dreamed of in her career. However, she’s burnt out and in desperate need of a break. Following in Audrey Hepburns characters shoes from her favorite film, Roman Holiday, Rae takes off in the middle of the night. Her destination isn’t Rome, Italy but Rome, Kentucky. One night Noah Walker sees a broken down car in his front yard. He has a lot on his plate and having to babysit a spoiled celebrity isn’t at the top of his list. Noah agrees to let Rae hide out at his place while her car is being fixed. While she’s in his space he can’t help but notice there is more to her than he initially thought and maybe they have some things in common.
I loved this book! Sweet romance book with an awesome supporting cast of characters and set in a charming small town. I especially enjoyed Noah’s sisters and the way the small townsfolk watched out for each other. Deliciously sweet and charming!

When in Rome
by Sarah Adams
Pub Date: 20 Sep 2022

This was just what I needed! Big star's car breaks down and small-town boy comes to the rescue...and let the tropes begin! This was such a fun, sweet romance. Yes, it is filled with cliches and let's be honest, we know how it is going to end, but the ride to getting there just makes you smile. Amelia and Noah, the side characters, and the whole town...just perfect! This book was an absolute treat to read!!

This book was a wonderful sweet read. The characters were easy to fall for and the story was fun to go along for the ride. I enjoyed getting lost in this small town. With big Nottinghill vibes, it’s a light read that will leave you feeling good with the happily ever after.

Amelia Rose just wants a break from her popstar life. Following the footsteps of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday she goes to Rome... Rome, Kentucky. There she meets Noah, a pie maker, and his three sisters. She falls in love with the town and its inhabitants.
I absolutely love the romance between the two main characters, they have such a fun dynamic. They had some good banter and their romance grew quickly but pretty organically. In terms of side characters, I loved Noah's sisters and how developed they felt. I also loved Mabel so much, her setting them up was genius. I hated Susan from the moment she popped up because I could tell right off the bat where that plot line would lead.
Overall I was devouring this book from beginning to end. There was not a single dull moment.

DNF at 15%. Slow, boring, not a lot happening. Sarah Adams is a no from me. The love felt manufactured, and I just truly did not care about the characters. The cover art is beautiful, however!

When In Rome is the latest rom com by Sarah Adams, TikTok sensation of The Cheatsheet.

Mega celebrity Rae Rose, needs a break from the exhausting spotlight and decides that since she cannot drive to Rome and have an adventure like Aubrey Hepburn, she’ll escape to Rome, Kentucky. She does not expect being rescued by a handsome grumpy baker when her car brakes down right in front of his house. Sparks fly, but not right away of course. His heart is heavy guarded because of his past. Will they find a way to make it happen even when Rae’s career threatens to mess with their little bubble? 🫧

Small town romance.
Grumpy/Sunshine.

Ugh, such a feel-good romance book. Small town romances never fail. I freaking loved it. NetGalley provided an #egalley and I went and purchased it right away when it came out. Definitely worth to be re-read.

This is an homage to Roman Holiday starring Audrey Hepburn. Instead of Rome, Italy, this takes place in Rome, Kentucky. Amelia 'Rae' Rose is a musician in need of a break. She loves the movie Roman Holiday and heads for the nearest Rome she can get to. Her car breaks down in front of Noah's house and out stormy begins.

I loved everything about this book and am hopeful that it's the beginning of a series (Noah has wonderful sisters).

Read this for all kinds of romance:
✨Grumpy-sunshine
✨Small town
✨City-country
✨Celebrity- normal guy
✨Quirky wonderful characters
✨Likable main characters

I loved Noah and Amelia's connection, their backstories, and getting to know Rome, KY. I was rooting for both of them. 💕 This was my first book by Sarah Adams and it definitely won't be my last!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy. All opinions are my own.
