Another wonderful addition to the Rebel Girls series of books. This one is great fun for a more interactive and magazine-like way to learn about inspirational women. It's also a great way to introduce girls to new fascinating topics and interests. As always with the Rebel Girls books, the artwork is beautiful and perfect to capture the eye of young readers.
It was nice to see something a little different from Rebel Girls, to expand the content they produce, but I didn’t feel like this was the right next step. My daughter and I found it repetitive and boring after a while. A book with stories and the odd quiz? That might have felt more worth while. A book mostly filled with the same process again and again didn’t appeal to her (aged nine) and she got bored quickly. Whilst I don’t think it is a book designed to be read cover to cover, I know she’s would be unlikely to dip into this one again. For me, that says everything.
As always though, beautiful design and illustrations very much in keeping with the series.
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
As someone who loves the Rebel Girls series of books, I was excited to dive into this one. It's a cute and fun companion piece to the rest of the series, Obviously, it lacks the substance of earlier examples but that's to be expected.
The illustrations are amazing, which is what we've come to expect from the series. It's such a wonderful resource for young people and has so many fun quizzes. I would probably prefer to get a physical copy of the book instead of an ebook. However, I think it's something so many people can enjoy.
As a big fan of the Rebel Girls series in general, I find Quizzes for Rebel Girls to be a good addition to the series.
It is more of a companion book, rather than something that would be representative of the series as a whole.
As the title suggests this is a collection of personality quizzes, anything from "What is your STEM Style?" to "Which Pet should I get?" The book is good fun and entertaining in the same way that magazine or BuzzFeed personality quizzes are. Is this a read cover to cover and then read again kind of book? No. It is, however, the kind of book young girls will share with their friends and connect over and likely learn some fun facts about rad women in the process! Well done once again Rebel Girls!
This was a fun book, finding out what type of person I was is a very enjoyable task. I must say that I'm in love with every single book Rebel Girls put out. I think it's a genius idea to inspire young girls to be what they want to be. Seeing these women from all different backgrounds and ages was really helpful in motivating.
This book has countless stem related quizzes which help you find you find your favorite pet, season, if you are a morning/night person or like working on the ground or high up in the sky. The illustrations are as beautiful as ever.
I like how they included famous women of the particular field with every question
Perfect little quiz book from the awesome series that is Rebel Girls! I can see myself using this in my civic education classes!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.
Well, this is a little different from the biography-based books Rebel Girls make. It's a book in form of quizzes from STEM-based ones, to arts, to sports, to Hollywood, and everything, on what you most likely like and will end up being as you grow up. I'd say the quizzes are quite fun and kids would enjoy them and learn things for sure. But I just didn't like the color palette for the backgrounds. They're so bold and bright! Sure, maybe it makes it more attractive, but it gave me a headache, and couldn't even read the questions properly... Also, some pages are horizontal if you view this as an ebook which is hard to read, but I guess as a physical book it's ok. I only gave it 4 stars because in comparison to the other Rebel Girls there are fewer educational and motivational stories, but then again the quizzes are educational and motivational in some way too. But darn, those bright colors... maybe I need to check a doctor, lol.
I loved quizzes in magazines as a child, and I am absolutely sure children are gonna love this book. But I can't shake the feeling that looking at this as an adult, it really feels like a cashgrab. It doesn't fit into the line of books at all (bedtime stories, so stories about the girls) and some quizzes feel really weirdly matched to famous people ("What flower are you?" for example).
My favorite thing about the Rebel Girls series is how visually appealing it is. Each page is colorful and, well, just fun to read. I think this is a big draw because a lot of kids these days don't like to read.
In Quizzes for Rebel Girls, students can find out if they're a morning or night person, better suited for working on the ground or high in the sky, are prone to sit still or need to be constantly moving, and even what kind of friend group best suits them. I really like the future-oriented quizzes which may give students insight into what they might want to do in the future. For example, kids can find out their STEM style, if they're better suited to work in the wide world or their own backyard, if they work better solo or on a team, what kind of science they'd be interested in, what cause is important to them, and even what kind of business they'd start. In addition to being fun, these quizzes can give students an insight into what they may want to do in the future.
I definitely think that kids of all ages (and maybe even adults) will find some value in this book because who doesn't like to take interesting quizzes. I definitely recommend this book.
Talk about childhood nostalgia! Growing up, I was all about quizzes. I would do the ones in the teen magazines and then moved to online ones. Now, as an adult, I love quiz shows. So, for me, this book was pure memory lane, without it being a literal memory.
I personally have an eBook copy of this book, and moving back and forth to different pages to keep track of my points, answers and results was much harder than skimming proper paper pages. I would definitely suggest a paperback copy of this book for ease of use.
The quizzes within this used facts and drips of information, so it was a fun way of learning. I even learnt some new things. Some of the questions were questions where you could already guess the answer you’d end up with. I much preferred the questions with less obvious answers, such as the one about which animal you have a connection with. But I doubt I would have noticed the simplicity as a youngster, so I think that’s just an age thing.
I would have 100% loved this as a child.

Quizzes for Rebel Girls

While I knew this book would be full of quizzes, it was definitely not what I expected. I didn’t think the quizzes would be fun or interesting enough for children to want to complete, but I was wrong.
Not only is the whole book colorful, the quizzes are both fun and educational. The material isn’t presented completely as facts, which I find refreshing. For example, one quiz determines which kind of flower you would be and the answer compares you to an inspirational woman.
I found myself thinking this would perfect to take on a road trip, airplane, or even to complete over the summer break. I also think this would be something fun for teachers and parents to complete with their children in March for International Women’s Day.

We love everything Rebel Girls in this house so I am happy to see so many spin-offs from the original book. Great book to pass the time during road trips or waits in doctor's offices.
Did you grow up on the 1990s magazine personality quizzes? Do you get excited when you see a new BuzzFeed quiz? Do you want bits and pieces of hundreds of amazing stories about wonderful women? Then this is the book for you!
There are a bunch of different styles to the quizzes, flow charts and points allocated quizzes, making it not feel repetitive. And all of the results are positive and encouraging, tying the answers into the stories of highly accomplished women around the world!
The pages are brightly colored, designed to be eye catching and easy flow of the questions. And each page has a gorgeous little portrait of a prominent woman from a variety of illustrators.
An absolutely fantastic addition to any library!
Thanks to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for this ARC!
This book is brilliant, pitched juts right for ks2 or early ks3. It is accurate fun and informative. Definitely one to order for the classroom
This was a very engaging and different take on the Rebel Girls books. The quizzes inside are on a great variety of topics, from "what cause is closest to your heart" to "what is your superpower". I can see this being a hit at sleepovers, just like magazine quizzes used to be. Best enjoyed in a group, but also fun to read on your own. You can learn about successful women while taking fun personality quizzes.
Quizzes for Rebel Girls is a fun read for all ages. This book is a colorfully illustrated quiz book that gives you fun ways to reframe your tendencies in positive categories. For example my 7 year old had a great time learning what their STEM Style is, Innovative Engineer was the answer. I especially liked how there wasn't any wrong answer. All the options were upbeat and based off of influential people of all walks of life. I imagine this book being a large hit at sleepovers or play dates.
This book helps give people an understanding that even if they aren't loud about how they want to change the world that no matter how they use their voice they have value.
Thank you to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed this book a lot. I love all the rebel girls publications and always look up to sigh up for any ARC chances. I can’t wait to get the hard copy !!
This is such a fun concept and the quizzes are so well-thought out and engaging. These quizzes have lots of anecdotes about famous women and there are some interesting facts to learn. While a quiz can't really gauge your true personality, it is fun to see what responses your friends choose and the corresponding answer key. Definitely a cute book that provides lots of entertainment.
this is such an entertaining book - my 10 year old enjoyed it more so than my 8 year old and it kept her engrossed throughout
