This book gives a variety of quizzes in different areas to discover your stem style. I think this will be such an encourageing read for little girls of all ages, to see more of them repsented in the stem field. It has a great mix of quizzes and is beautifully illustrated
I received a copy of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions
My daughter and I enjoyed sitting down together to take the quizzes in this book. Once we got started, she got hooked and wanted to work her way through the whole book.
As a parent, I was happy to see her so entranced by a book full of positive female role models, both from history and from current pop culture, and how her quiz answers helped her to identify with them. She saw her different characteristics framed in a positive light. I can see this as a confidence-boosting book for young girls.
From an age standpoint, I can see this being popular for the middle grade-middle school set. I think it would be fun for a troop leader to have on hand for Girl Scout meetings or campouts or for a teacher or guidance counselor to have on a shelf for students who finish assignments early or maybe need a little extra encouragement.
I received an advance copy from Rebel Girls and NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Loved this book! A great mix of quiz themes. I especially loved the drop in of inspirational women, it helped me to feel inspired by the answers I gave.
The colours are bright and vibrant, they don't detract from the information given, it enhances the fun feeling of the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Rebel Girls for this E-Arc in exchange for an honest review!
When I was younger I loved doing quizzes to find out which Promi I am most likely to or what part of the friend group I am. This book was really fun do to.
I didn’t do all quizzes but I did a good amount and I still learned a lot of new things.
I also really enjoyed the little drawing which also are in the other books in the series
This book is perfect for everybody who loves doing quizzes. There are quizzes for everybody and everything you want to know more about!
This is an absolutely amazing book for any person that wants to do some fun quizzes from stem style, to your role in Hollywood, and what kind of animal you connect with there's a quiz for everyone in this wonderful book!
This book is a great way for kids to learn about some amazing women and encourage girls to go for their dreams.
The quizzes are unique with detailed responses for girls to really choose where they think they fit. Doing this with a few friends out loud would give a great chance to show how people are different and highlight how those differences can compliment each other. The visual look of the pages is very fun as well!
5 glowing, beautiful stars!
Oh I adore this book SO MUCH! I remember being a preteen/teenager and just loving books with quizzes in them. I could take them all day! This book is giving me the best feelings of nostalgia.
I will totally be buying this paperback version for my own daughter. I have adored the Rebel Girls books for years and this is such a fun addition to their line up. Beautiful illustrations, nice bite sized facts for readers to learn about strong women, and just tons of fun questions to answer! I will be highly recommending this to my friends with children.
I liked the interactive premise with the pieces of info about influential female figures. Relatively interesting categories. Overall good female empowerment vibes
I would like to thank Rebel Girls for providing me with an ARC.
I have enjoyed many of the titles by Rebel Girls, but I found this one to be more of a miss for me. It is a good companion for the series, but this one just didn't hold up to the rest of the series. This is a book full of personality quizzes that don't do much to stand out from other quizzes of a similar nature. There is some ableism in this book. It presents being disabled as something that needs to be overcome, an attitude that often brings harm and continues to other disabled people. Another disability issue is the assumption that everybody can give up plastic straws. The advocation for the banning of straws is a discussion that disabled people have been left out of and ignored when voicing concerns. All types of biodegradable straws have a risk to allergies and reusable straws like glass and metal cannot be properly cleaned and are expensive. Plastic straws also take up only a little bit of the plastic waste compared to other single use plastics. Advocating for using less single use plastics is good, but not all of us can cut them out of our lives for disability reasons and creating stigma around those of us who can't only causes harm to people. Being disabled doesn't mean we don't care about the environment, we do care deeply about the environment, but we need to be involved in these discussions and our concerns and needs can't be ignored.
I think this book can be a good activity book for children, but it is very different than the biography filled books that is typical of this series. This book is instead more focused on getting children to think about themselves and expand their views with self-reflection. It is meant to be an inspiring book to help children think about the actions they can take for various fields and advocacy groups.
We're big fans of the Rebel Girls series (daughters aged 8 and 9) and this one was no exception. Being independent readers, the quiz element added a fun new twist to this edition. Not only could I read aloud the quizzes as part of bedtime reading, but the questions added a more social element to our familiar routine - the girls were able to take turns reading aloud so they could be the ones to tally up the answers. And of course there was lots of great information on influential women that we could look up. We love being able to compare the artistic renderings with actual pictures, and to, "look up what they look like now!" This would definitely make a great gift, and this will be one we grab a physical copy of to keep on our home book shelf.
Was delighted to see this book was read now rather than request so thank you NetGalley
I have previously bought my nieces books from the rebel girl series, this book much like has great artwork that alone make the book worth buying, it’s fun, colourful, quirky and adds a extra to the wonderful stories.
The book is a book of quizzes for girls to take to see what they could be, what type of animal they are all sorts of cool things. It has interesting facts along side the quizzes.
It is a great edition to the series.
What I will say is that I hope it’s priced at a reasonable cost as essentially it is a book of quizzes and not sure how much readers would go back to it after the novelty wears off.
I read this along side my 10year old niece and her review was it would be fun for a sleepover and it would be cool as a interactive ebook.
A great idea and accompaniment to the amazing series of Rebel Girl books. I would recommend to any parent, teacher, family member or friend looking for a gift for any Rebel Girl that they may have in their life.
I love the books in the Rebel Girls series and, whilst this was no exception, it wasn't my favourite.
This quiz book has a different format to the previous books and is full of the kind of quizzes I spent my teenage years filling out. The difference with these quizzes is that they'll help you discover 'What's your STEM style?' and similar, rather than who your favourite crush is.
As you'd expect, the pages are bursting with questions rather than information. Although inspirational women are dotted throughout the book, acting as a gentle introduction.
The book is fun and interactive and I can imagine that children would love answering the questions. I think it would fit well alongside the other books in the series, allowing the children to discover more information about the icons.
My thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for sending me this ARC in return for an honest review.
A great book for teachers and guardians as well as young girls or other grown ups that works with kids.
The book contains a lot of different quizzes that can be fun to do especially if you have read the books in the Rebel Girls series :)
What a fun quiz book! Love doing the quizzes and going over them with my girls. A great addition to the series!
Quizzes for Rebel Girls is a quiz book with the theme of intelligent, important, and influential women throughout history. Each question always begins with a little fun fact about a woman from history. There are tons of quizzes, ranging from what pet you should get to your STEM style. There are a variety of different types of answer keys, complete with beautiful art and bright colors to keep it interesting. I think this is a great quiz book for kids, with a very important message: Women can do anything they put their minds to.
Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the e-ARC of Quizzes for Rebel Girls.
I liked most of the books from this series (not all, but many), but this book I loved. It's very interactive and it makes you curious about different personalities. There are so many different areas covered (science, arts, sports, ...), that it is impossibil not to find something that will be interesting for you. There are no biographies inside, but the kids can find out which characteristic would be similar with those of there idols, or any personalities they do not know, and then they will start to be curious and wonder who is...
I also showed the book to my daughter and we have to buy the book on paper, so much she liked it. I find the book is also perfect as a gift and to take it with you on the holliday, the kids can spend a lot of time with it.
Another win for the rebel girls series. This title will be great for rainy day recess, cafeteria socials, library sub day, slumber parties, summer camp downtime…you get the idea. It’s historical, informative, fun and silly. Definitely buying for my 12yo and hee friends!
I received a complimentary copy from Rebel Girls and all opinions expressed are entirely my own
This is now one of my most favorite Rebel Girl books because it's interactive. It's mainly geared for the younger generation but I absolutely enjoyed it. Everyone should read it and just have fun with it and the authors did a wonderful job of getting young girls to find out who they are. I wish I had this book when I was younger and I am pretty psyched that I finally know which flower I am. I also believe that the book is a great addition to bookshelves.</p>
