Wow this is a wonderful book for anyone (especially a young girl) to own. I absolutely will be using the information in my classroom and with my teacher collogues this year to ensure we are highlighting women in color that have paved the way in our subjects we teach.

First of all, the graphic design is beautiful. Each woman has a black and white portrait and is surrounded by beautiful colors and floral arrangements. It is immediately eye catching. There are categories such as women in politics, STEM/Business, Activism, Film, Sports and Food/Drink (and a few more). Each woman featured has 2-3 pages written about their life, quotes, struggles, joys, and accomplishments. I'm not sure if the illustrator has these for sale but they would be amazing to hang up in a school.

I imagine this would be inspiring to a person of color. As a white woman, I am inspired by them and it also is a reminder for me as a teacher to make space to celebrate these women.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Sadly I was not familiar with a lot of women included. The book is divided into categories with short biographies and illustrations. There are some famous women included but there are also some unsung heroes. The book is well written and easy to read and the illustrations are wonderfully creative. Enjoy this inspiring collection.

I liked this book quite a bit and I would like to see more books like this get published. I do wish it had been a little bit longer and gotten a little more info into each of the women. I liked that a few of the write ups had interviews with really interesting people, like the school teacher of a scientist that helped develop of the vaccine for Covid-19, but a lot of the material overall was the basics I knew. I did like that while I had heard of quite a few of them women chosen for this book there were also several I had not. I also really appreciate that the women were diverse not just with ethnicity but with sexual orientation and with the arenas of their success. I enjoyed that we had everything from political women to social activists to athletes. There is not one path to be strong, but a theme in several of the vignettes the theme was being true to yourself and I think that is the perfect message to send to the young girls that can not read this.

First off, I love the title of the book. Ellis does a phenomenal job of highlighting phenomenal women who have impacted our society (and even ourselves) for the better. I love reading the stories of strong women as encouragement and inspiration. The book is an easy read and I highly recommend to parents and educators (and even adults like me who enjoy these kinds of books).

We Go High is an inspiring little book that is perfect for libraries and classrooms. It’s a great resource to learn about the trials and triumphs of women from different backgrounds in a variety of fields. I really appreciated the diversity in this book, which featured women of color from all over the world and included members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Some of the women covered were ones that I was familiar with and many others that I wasn’t. I found the book to be a good jumping point to explore new books and media. I enjoyed learning about each of the women featured, and Naomi Osaka and Koa Beck’s stories were particularly relatable for me as mixed-race women in the public eye.

This book features some truly gorgeous graphic design, highlighted by Natasha Cunningham’s dazzling collage art style that really makes the pages pop. Chapters that contained trigger material are also marked on the table of contents which was a pleasant surprise and a thoughtful inclusion. The book is divided into several categories: Culture, Politics, STEM and Business, Activism and Social Justice, Film and Television, Sports, Food and Drink, and Journalism. The variety keeps the book fresh and provides readers with a glimpse into different life experiences, there will be something that is relatable or of interest to most readers.

I have yet to read a DK Publishing book that I didn’t find to be beautifully illustrated and incredibly informative, and We Go High is no exception. The thing that impressed me the most about this book is the number of Black women highlighted; there’s a lot packed into the limited page count. I was introduced to women I was unfamiliar with and learned new things about the women I did know. I would highly recommend this book to readers of all ages.

We Go High by Nicole Ellis is a beautifully compilation of stories about many well known black and brown women and some that are not. The book is full of activists, athelets, scientists, business women, journalist and artists. The illustrations by Natasha Cunningham phenomenal. The book is full of beautiful women, vivid colors and flowers. This would make a wonderful gift and outstanding coffee table book.

Not only does Ellis give us a history lesson on many well-known women, she introduces us to women that we may not know or have heard of. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I cannot wait to share it with my daughter. She will have the opportunity to see people that look like her. We Go High showcases incredible women and their achievements. Women overcoming adversity not because of, but despite the bad reputation we have been given for so long. It is wonderful to see a work of art that celebrates women who have changed society’s thoughts and attitudes.

It is about finding your voice, overcoming and believing in yourself. Just because someone tells you no, it does not mean that is the end of your story. I recommend this book to everyone wanting to learn about strong women especially to young girls and boys. It demonstrates diversity, self-worth and perseverance. Warning that some experiences may trigger experiences.

Gonna start out by saying the book is absolutely gorgeous. Many of the women I am familiar with but this book actually highlighted quite a bit I wasn’t aware of and brought their stories and world to life. It also introduced me to women I wasn’t familiar with and that was a nice surprise. This is a great book and an important read. I definitely recommend everyone check this book out.

The portraits in this collection are gorgeous and provide a sensory experience for the reader akin to walking through a lush garden. I love that this is a book my daughter can refer to as a young Black girl and see herself reflected in across every page. The stories of each woman who are trailblazers across sectors of journalism, sports, music, science and more are a true display of what makes BIPOC woman truly a blessing in this world. I enjoyed reading about the professional contributions each leader made in their respective field and how accessible the writing is. This is a great book for young people and adults alike!

This book features colorful and engaging insight into the lives and accomplishments of relevant people, many of whom I have not seen in other biographical anthologies for youth. Highly recommended. This is definitely a title I will order for my public library.

This book is a beautiful window into the accomplishments and inspirational presence of many Women of Color. I loved learning more about women I was already familiar with, such as Stacey Abrams, Michelle Obama, and Amanda Gorman. My daughter was fascinated to learn about women we had not heard of before. I think it is vitally important that we expose our children to not only true accounts of our history, but also to the moments of joy and accomplishment in that history as well.

This book is a really interesting compilation of stories. There are figures highlighted who were very well known to me and other figures that I'd never heard of. With both, there was still something new that I learned about them and their journey. I also really enjoyed the artwork - the pictures are gorgeous renditions of the individuals - with the vibrant colors and flowers, it really pulls the book together in a way that using individual headshots/pictures would not have done.

Overall, I think this is an important book to have in anyone's collection. It demonstrates the importance of diversity and spotlights some of the incredible women of color who have risen to high levels within their respective areas of expertise.

Beautiful storytelling, fantastic execution. I can’t wait to handsell this one. It’s a very interesting and easy to understand book for young readers wishing to learn more about successful women of colour. (Which I think everyone should)

"When they go low, we go high"

I feel like this is such an important book for people of all ages, The achievements of Black women are often erased from history, and it's important to acknowledge all they've done for our society. I'd like to know more about the author because I can't seem to find a lot of information about them anywhere so I'm kind of curious. Other than that I really enjoyed this book!

This is a great book to give little girl. Each of the blurbs are short which allow a gateway introduction to these inspirational people for further independent research. I wish there were more women featured in the book. The minor complaint is the blurbs are sometimes a little emotionally too dry.
