I am 20yo and I am always on a lookout for a good story to read before bed, but I also appreciate reading books like this when you crave simplicity and relaxation; that is why I chose to request this book.

To start off, the cover is stunning and a great representation of what you are about to read. Each changemaker gets a page of writing about them with a cartoon portrait and quote attached in alphabetical order. I had some criteria in mind when reading this book and deciding how to rate this book. The book fulfils my criteria/expectations, desires and beyond. I judged this book based on the way it was written, if it’s informative but not overwhelming, if I liked the artwork, if I felt that a diverse group of people were represented (age, location, disabilities etc.).

The writing is consistent throughout and never jarring. It is simple, to the point and enjoyable due to its fairytale-like style. I appreciated the addition of DOBs (Date of Births) as it showcases a diverse age range within young changemakers, but I thought it’s questionable that Nora Al Matrooshi’s DOB was incomplete. I figured perhaps it would be fairly easy as a publisher to ask someone or their representative for that information. Anyway, I found the book informative and fun, never overwhelming. That is if you don’t read all at once because learning and retaining information about 100 people is hard, even if you know some of them already. I liked nearly all the artwork, loved some of the artwork and disliked maybe a few because I thought it was not up to standard. The art is vibrant, colorful and big. I recall really liking the artwork for Billie Eilish (credit: Paula Zorite) and Greta Thunberg (credit: Pau Zamro). Yes, this book does a good job of crediting artists throughout and I highly respect that.

I would say I did not know the majority of the changemakers beforehand, so that is a good thing. I am glad that it is not celebrity heavy, because the focus on inventors who change their community and other people’s in turn are my favourite. I really liked the diversity of age within young people and I fit squarely in. It was kind of weird seeing changemakers born after 2010 because I forget it’s been so many years since then., but really happy to see of course. So many countries/nationalities were mentioned and that makes me happy as a WoC.

Lastly, I liked how extensive the crediting is at the back of the book and that the art is credited on the changemakers’ page itself without being distracting. There has been a lot of thought and care put into the formatting and structure of this book. It is beautiful and I imagine a physical copy would be even nicer to hold. I also appreciate that there are some relevant and reflective activities, so that the reader is left with something to consider about themselves.

I found this book empowering and uplifting, so I would recommend this book to people who like fairytale styled books and just want to know about young people who are making changes in the world. I thought I knew it all but I don’t. This is a good compilation and would encourage anyone to read this book, as I wish I had something like this growing up.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in return for an honest review.

The Rebel Girls franchise do it so well and this book is no exception.

I read the book with my three small humans- two girls and a boy and they all really enjoyed the book- we learnt about so many trailblazing young people who are making change in the world and it was also interesting to learn more about those who we do hear about in the media but in a transparent non sensationalised way- achievements not appearance!

Illustrations as always as are engaging and that's one of the things we love most about these books is all the different styles and artistic interpretations of the featured Rebel Girls.

As a UK reader it is definitely heavily US focussed this would be my only slightly negative comment.

A good book to find out all about girls using their voice, their presence and identity to inspire, rebel and make changes to the world. It was good to find out about girls I already know of through news etc like Emma Radacanu and Billie Eilish and lots of ones I have never heard of from a variety of walks of lives.
One thing I would say is that reading in the UK, it is more focused on America. Also Personally I feel that the pictures of the girls, although they are illustrations, have been glamourised. So a book about being yourself and making a difference but all the faces shapes are similar, big eyes etc.

This book was so cute and fun to read. I am excited to share it with my child and hope she enjoys it as much as I did. This book is inspiring to girls and the illustrations are super cute.

These books are not for me- I’m a 19 year old girl but I still find them so powerful. I know everyone says this but I’m so glad that young girls get to read these stories. Empowering girls will be important for as long as there is a gap in genders

Love reading these inspiring stories with my daughter and teaching her about important women - these ones are especially great as they are closer to her in age.

I have always wanted to read - or just browse - through one of these books. They are so beautifully illustrated and I love the message they are sending to young girls. This one compiles a few "old" stories and new ones, so that girls can learn about Rebel Girls who are still alive!

Really lovely short stories about young women doing really cool things. Perfect to read a couple as a short bed time story. We went through the table of contents and picked topics that were interesting to the kids.

An excellent book full of beautiful illustrations and inspiring, super short stories about girls and women who are changing the world. They cover people from Zendaya to Greta Thunberg to Jazz Jennings, as well as dozens and dozens of powerful young ladies I'd never heard of and am very glad I was made aware of through this book.

I skimmed through and read a few of the stories this afternoon and was very impressed, but over the next month my 7-year-old daughter and I will be reading it cover to cover. She learned about Malala and Ruby Bridges in school this year and was absolutely fascinated and had to know everything about them, so I knew when I saw this book we had to read it together. I'm definitely going to be keeping my eyes open for the other Rebel Girls books.

these books were among the first books I read and I love every volume they have put out, I couldn't wait to read this one, now I felt so much more identified by recognizing more of the women they put in, I can't wait for it to hit bookstores.

My daughter and I were beyond impressed with Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers! The collection includes famous and well-known women from a variety of industries and roles, but also a number of lesser-known women that we got the opportunity to learn more about. The writing is accessible and engaging for children (my daughter is 10 years old), but I also found it to be engaging as an adult. The images are colourful and attention-grabbing - truly works of art. My daughter and I both enjoyed the fact that multiple artists lent their talents to this book, giving the overall work a good sense of variety. This book would make a great addition to anyone's library.

As a mum to two young daughters I am already a fan of this series of stories for rebel girls. I was excited to be offered an ARC of the latest book, Goodnight stories for rebel girls - 100 inspiring young change makers from Netgalley.

This book is my favourite in the series so far, primarily due to the diversity of young women included and the way that they have instigated change in our world. We have different cultures, genders, sexualities, disabilities and ages. We also have so many different areas of interest which encourages everyone to make at least one connection.

These women all embraced their unique gifts and their individual experiences to show the world a different way. It seems that none of them saw obstacles in their path, choosing instead to focus on their own path.

There are inspirational young women like Billie Eilish, Bindi Irwin, Jojo Siwa, Zendaya, AJ Clementine who my daughters and I already admire and follow their journey of raising awareness, sharing their gifts and highlighting the strength of their unique paths.

And so many new inspiring young women highlighting pathways in science, maths, technology, disability awareness, advocacy for others. It was these women featured in the book who had the greatest impact on my daughters (8 & 10 years old) who started realising how wide open their choices can be if they see their own uniqueness and embrace all that they are without limitation.

The artwork in this book was absolutely stunning, really highlighting the individuality of each woman in such a stunning way. It was these images which held my attention and kept me flicking through many times to enjoy the whole experience that this book offers. I know that for younger kids the artwork will call them in.

Each page in the book is written as a summary of each woman’s achievements in a way that presents the information well yet, not dumbing it down while allowing younger children to completely understand what is being said. I like that aspect of the book as it encourages my younger daughter to have a go at reading it independently too.

I will definitely be purchasing this book for my daughters when it is released.

“Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers” is the fifth volume of the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls series but for me it was the first book I read in the series.

I already heard a lot and just good things about the series and now wanted to read it myself. And it really didn’t disappoint.

The main aspect for me to pick up the book was honestly Taylor Swift on the cover because I am a huge Swiftie. I only knew her and a few other girls from the book but all stories were really interesting and I learned a lot of new things!

One thing I also really liked about the book was that the chosen people were very diverse and that everybody can identify with at least one or two of the girls.

I also really enjoyed the length of the stories and how detailed the illustrations and were.

After reading this I can’t wait to pick up the other volumes and I really recommend this book not just for younger kids but also for everyone who liked to learn more about young and strong woman and girls.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the chance to this EARC!

"I don't need hard. I just need possible." - Bethany Hamilton

Such a power and important quote to keep close to your heart when achieving your dreams.

In the introduction the editors mention that they looked at names submitted by readers. This shows how influential and important these stories are to girls and women all over the world. They have taken care to showcase women who have made a huge impact on their community, the world. Women from all races, age and countries.

This book is engaging for readers in a number of ways: 1) the reader can use the QR code to obtain more information on a rebel, 2) the end of the book includes activities for the reader to tell their own story.

As usual, Rebel Girls does not disappoint.

I haven't read any of the Rebel Girls books before so wasn't quite sure what to expect. At first I was a little disappointed that the 'Good Night Stories' were really only a couple of paragraphs long and not what I would class as a story before bedtime!

However, the range and diversity of the stories told is fascinating, humbling and inspiring. It is truly incredible that these girls have made such huge achievements in their own fields and I think every parent should own at least one copy of a Rebel Girls book to inspire their own children - I know I will be investing!

**Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read an advanced e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own **

I love this series of books that focus on women and young women and girls. I would have loved having access to something likethese books when I was growing up, and it just didn't exist. As a woman, I love seeing women and girls being celebrated for their uniqueness and accomplishments. I hope this series will continue because it's so important for young girls to have good role models and to see what they are capable of achieving. I highly recommend this series. Well done.

I am so into all of the Rebel Girls books! I wish I had them growing up, but they make the perfect present for any young reader. This book is filled with female voices I’d never heard of as well as popular voices youth will be familiar with like Billie Eilish. Great illustrations and great writing. Many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
