Favorite author so i always read her books, so easy to sit down and get totally lost in the stories she writes. This one had me crying early on, loved the relationship between Preston and Constance and how they always had a wintermoon every year. Six kids and an extremely huge house that held all of the memories.

This story has everything, loving parents, 6 kids who were raised in a home with love. Tragedy strikes and everyone is left hearbroken which draws them closer together, i especially loved how they were all so close and made sure that Benjie was totally cared for. Bad relationships are replaced with amazing ones, kids thrive, and everyone grows up and the siblings are always there for each other no matter what comes at them.

The Whittier family is a very close family who spend time together on an annual sking vacation every year. This year the vacation ends with a tragic accident.

The story is full of emotional trauma as each of the children deal with the loss and their own way in the coming days while dealing with divorce, pregnancy, and love. The book is full of emotional twists and turns.

Danielle Steel never disappoint and is one of my must read authors.

Danielle Steel lures you into an idyllic life that Preston and Constance have created for themselves and their children. She draws you in as you discover the dynamics of each family member. Their death brings out responsibility and a need to grow up and reevaluate their life choices up to that point. We get to see how each sibling reacts to this tragedy and how life will always go on and how each decision made affects not only themselves, but those around them. She writes so that you are drawn into their stories and want to see what happens next so that you keep turning the page until you realize you have reached the end.

This family story will take you through the range of emotions. Preston and Constance Whittier have raised a loving family who each have their strengths and weaknesses. They will need those when Preston and Constance are killed in a skiing accident. I loved the way this family pulled together even though they all have their own lives and need to work through their sorrow. I highly recommend reading this book as you will not want to put it down until you find out what happens to each character.

The Whittiers are a wealthy family of a mom, a dad, and six adult children all of whom live in Manhattan. When the parents die in an avalanche, the children need to decide what to do with their 14 bedroom home. Lyle, a successful developer, is going through a divorce so he moves in and his children join him on alternate weeks. Gloria, an investment professional, stays in her own apartment and wants to sell the mansion. Twins Caroline and Charlie, owners of their own fashion company, move in to care for their brother Benji and their wild child baby sister Annabelle. Though not a whole lot happens, this is a feel-good story about family members supporting each other in both good times and bad. I liked all the characters. If I were Danielle Steel, now that I’ve introduced them, I’d write six more books, one about each sibling a la Bridgerton. I doubt that will happen but I think there’s plenty of untapped material here. I thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I'll save you some time. Have you read Steel's novel Family Album? Good. Then don't bother with this one because it's a flat, pale imitation of that book. This is just a bad retelling of that story with a different family name and different jobs. Same issues. Same outdated ideas and stereotypes. At least Family Album had some heart and nuance. This is just boring and repetitive.

Another great Danielle Steel story. I really enjoyed following the characters on the different journeys they had throughout the story. It was fast enough moving to keep you from putting the book down, Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the ARC copy.

Nobody writes about the drama but strong loyalty of family like Danielle Steel. The Whittiers are a large family led by parents Preston and Constance who are still very much in love. Each year, they take a skiing trip together. When they are killed in an avalanche, their adult children must find a way to to come together and overcome the obstacles in their lives to help take care of their 21 year old sister and a brother who needs care.

I found the character of Caroline to be very much relatable and love how the author made her available for her family despite the demands of her career. She was able to do this with the assistance of her siblings, but her family came first, no matter what. I also loved the growth of Annabelle throughout the story. Her circumstances definitely contributed to that, but you can see that growth along the way.

I always know what to expect when I pick up a Danielle Steel novel. There are some surprises along the way, but there is some comfort in knowing that things will usually work out in the end. That is why I keep coming back.

Danielle Steel is one of the most consistent authors of our time. I read her books synopsis unread and I’m always happy that I did.
The Whittiers is no exception. A large tight-knit family that experiences an unspeakable tragedy. The family comes together to support its youngest and most vulnerable siblings. While the older siblings have age and experience on their side, they still struggle to find their way. Divorce, love, death, unplanned pregnancy, unexpected business dealings, the list goes on and on. A great example of perseverance and the power of the love of a family.. A great story that will stay with you long after the end of the last chapter.

There are six of them: There are twin designers that run their own company,; one is gay, a 39 finance guru who lives in her own apartment, a married man with hsi wife and two kids, an autistic man who's around 25, a 21 year old girl who just wants to party.
Some of them move in to help ease the burden as they decide whether to sell the house. one turns up pregnant and one takes on the role of being the mother as she tries to help everybody otu.
So many different age groups and realistic problems. Married couple have problems and she only wants money at all costs and tells her what she expects when they divorce, til the other shoe hits the floor....
Struggles, obstacles and fun loving family at all costs. Love this short story, wish our dilemma had turned out the same way.

Meet the Whittiers, all 6 siblings with so much going on in their lives, they aren’t as close as they have been in years. Unfortunately their parents die in a skiing accident and they are banding together for each other and their brother with special needs and they all need each other as their lives are about to change and things will never be the same!
I loved this book and every member of this family ! Fans of Danielle Steel will love this one!

Danielle Steel knocks it out of the park again…. This book focuses on a family living together and trying to go there on ways, to me it’s a little different from some of the others that she writes but this book can sure hit home for some. Thank you Danielle for writing another amazing book that we can enjoy!

The Whittiers by Danielle Steel made me think of the song "Who Says You Can't Go Home?" After their parents die in a tragic accident, all but one of the grown children of the Whittier family move back into the family home. Navigating love, divorce and sexuality, as well as the consequences of their own actions, the Whittier family is drawn even closer to each other than before while opening the door to new people and relationships.

Awesome book. But what did I expect from Danielle steel. This book is about a family that has the values of one for all and all for one. The 6 kids lost their parents in a sking accident. Now the older siblings are stepping up to guide the 2 youngest children. But what all of the children find out is they needed the guidance from each other to continue on his own journey. Loved the book.

This book starts off with the narrative explaining how the parents after raising all of their children, they go off to Europe for a honeymoon type vacation. This year, an avalanche unfortunately kills both parents and this book talks about how all of the children get along after their parents death. There is the oldest, Lyle. He is married to a gold digger who got pregnant with their first child and forced the wedding issue. Then there is Gloria, a business woman who is very judgmental. Then there are the Caroline and Charlie who are twins that are in business in the fashion industry. Then there is Anabelle who recently dropped out of college and is partying hard. And then there is lovable Benji who is on the spectrum and works at an animal shelter. After the parents death, the twins move back into the family house (which is a humongous palace in the middle of NYC). I truly loved watching each and every character evolve and find their final happiness.

The Whittiers had a happy life together until tragedy struck. Preston and Constance were on a vacation in Europe. They went skiing and were caught in an avalanche . They left behind their family of six adult children. Lyle's marriage ended with a messy divorce from his greedy wife Amanda. Gloria works on Wall Street. Twins Charlie and Caroline have a fashion business designing clothes, Benji is challenged and works at an animal shelter where he adopts two dogs, Annabelle loves parties until she gets pregnant and is forced to grow up. She decides to give her baby up and adoptive parents are found. After she holds her baby for the first time she decides to keep him. All of them except Gloria move into the family mansion while they decide if they want to keep or sell it. Charlie reveals that he is gay and finds a boyfriend, Caroline falls in love with Annabelle's OB GYN. Benji meets a young woman like him at the gym. Gloria falls in love with an Italian who invested in the twins fashion business, Lyle with a social worker who comes to investigate false claims Amanda makes.

The Whittiers is Danielle Steel’s latest book. Mom and Dad Whittier have 6 grown kids and they love to go on a long vacation each year to France. While they are skiing in France, a horrible accident happens. This tells how the kids survived the next year. I enjoyed all the characters in this book. Awesome story! I am now in love with the Whittier family. They remind me of my wonderful, slightly dysfunctional, but extremely loving family. I know to always have tissues on hand when reading a Danielle Steel book. They're so well-written I find myself crying for triumps as well as heartachs. Danielle Steel is a true Icon!
