A lovely summer read about a young woman finding herself and her peace and hope for a better relationship.
I requested and received an e-book copy from Bookouture via NetGalley. Thank you!

A fabulous four-star read. I really enjoyed this one and so wanted to give it five-stars, but it just wavered too much at times. I enjoyed getting to know Amelie, but at times I did want to tell her to grow a backbone, I know its so hard to lose your parents, and its something no one should have to go through at such a young age. That’s what was confusing about this story, I loved parts, but then other parts just annoyed me and I don’t usually have that with this author, usually I am swept up and sucked in and cant put it down as I am so absorbed in the descriptions of the places and the people. I am sure that lots will love this one, it just wasn’t fully for me, but I am excited to see where the author will go next, as there are so many places left to visit.

DNFing at 50%

I need to stop reading chick lit, I can't root for two people to get together when they both already have partners

I gave this one a fair shot because Amelie and Xander were both very cute, but the bulk of the book is them with their toxic partners and it's tedious to read. And 50% of the way into the book until we get to the premise promised in the synopsis and by that point I was rather apathetic about it

I'd still recommend it to anyone looking for sweet chick lit. This one is very cute and the leads are great characters

A beautifully written romance, with several laughs along the way. I loved the sound of Cornflower Cottage and the wild life around the area. Heartwarming.

Sadly this wasn't the book for me. Amelir was very depressing and complaining all the time.. I'd hoped for a cute summer read but this wasn't it.

This was a cosy feel good read set in an idyllic location and was a lovely escapism read and one that made you think that true love happens when you are least expecting it and not to settle for second best. I loved how the characters of Amelia and xander developed and how they both looked out for each other.

I would love a sequel to see where their journey takes them next and what is in store for their future.

A Home at Cornflower Cottage
by Tilly Tennant

I received this book NetGalley and Bookouture for an honest review.
Well, It was a hard book for me, not one I could enjoy. Too many words that was fluff and not to the point.

A very entertaining read. Lots of interesting characters and many twists and turns but of course, everything turns out the way it should.

A sweet sometimes sad story about a 27 year old Amelie who lives alone after her parents died and trying to keep up with the needs the house needs . She needs more income so she decide to rent a room to a couple . While she is used to be alone she is happy with the companionship .
They first half was very good but the rest not so much . I wonder her best friends boyfriend is from Greece and I am Greek but Georgiou is a surname in here . His name sould be Georgios or Giorgos .
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book started out super cute, and I had such high hopes because it looks like a nice cozy book, but I couldn’t stand any of the characters! Even the main character, Amelie, was very annoying. She lets everyone walk all over her except for her loser boyfriend, and she’s just as horrible to him as he is to her. I know they’ll eventually break up this toxic thing they’ve got going on, but it should have been much earlier - I’m 50% through and officially quitting. Super frustrating!

Hmmmm, not for me. I couldn't quite feel connected to any of the main characters. Wondering why it was okay for Amelie to tell some white lies... as opposed to her then boyfriend. It was a bit much how she kept going on about being on her own, being lonely, not feeling connected to others.

Really heartwarming romance. A cottage in the country, otters, and a handsome man. Perfect read for a cozy evening.

Amelie has lived her entire life at Cornflower Cottage, it’s been her home, her solace, her comfort. But after the death of her parents, the cottage seems too large, too empty, not to mention to expensive to maintain on her own. The obvious choice to solve both problems is to take in a boarder. Aspiring filmmaker, Zander, currently living out of a backpack seems an obvious choice, until he moves in, making huge messes and keeping irregular hours. Amelie begins to think she may have made a mistake, but then the two begin to share late night confidences and it’s not long before a budding romance begins. Will Xander’s past endanger their relationship before it’s really begun? A sweet, lovely story, balm for the soul

This is a lovely cosy feel good read featuring struggling Amelie who has been trying her best to manage since the deaths of her parents two years ago but both grief and the upkeep of the Cotswold cottage they left her keep threatening to overwhelm her. She’s settling both at work and in her love life but has great support from her best friend. To help her pay for cottage repairs she rents her spare bedroom out to unlikely couple Xander and Imogen and the impact they have in her life start to move her forwards out of her mundane lifestyle. Overall this is a lovely read and Amelie is a fabulously independent character however I found it hard to understand her relationship with her boyfriend, otherwise this is a great character read with a good mix of warm-hearted and prickly characters and a very gentle storyline.
