I have mixed feelings on this book. On the positive side, I enjoy a good spy story, and the suspense that comes with it. This story had some suspense and some tricky situations Simon had to navigate. On the negative side, it was very predictable, which took the fun out of it. The characters were interesting and the plot interesting, I just wish it hadn't been so predictable.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback. The first half I found slow, the pace picked up in the 2nd half. It ended stronger. I found it a quick easy read, but l felt that it was a bit predictable, and lacking the plot complexity that I’m used to. Still a decent read.

With a number of books on the shelf to catch up on, I picked this one at random and to be honest, it didn’t grab me as expected.
I really need to be drawn into the story from the start and this one failed to do it unfortunately.
Not for me, but perhaps on another day........
