This is a surprising laid back alien invasion story, which was a pleasant surprise. Bass has a nice writing style that worked quite well. I started this with trepidation, but settled in pretty quickly. Recommended.

I think the best word to describe this book is mellow. Aliens invade Earth, but in this story there aren’t dramatic battles and Star crossed lovers, just real life and coping in between the occasional fights.
