Addison and Ryan’s story was so great! They had such amazing chemistry together. Kimberly Kincaid’s writing just gets better with every story.

The Rogue is the fourth book in the Intelligence Unit series. The books I have read in the series have been out of order, but I still enjoyed each one. The book was fast-paced, full of action, with nail-biting intrigue. The storyline and characters had plenty of layers that slowly got revealed to us as the book progressed.
As main characters, Addison and Ryan were both weary of committing to relationships, but their slow burn romance convinced them that love was worth the risk. This was a great book and I really enjoyed seeing the Intelligence team again. I’m looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series.

Lots of action, couldn’t put it dow. What happens when a firefighter and a cop hook up. Lots of smoking action!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

enjoyed this story, even though i haven't read the previous in this group of books. It stands alone well, but I'm interested in getting to know other characters better so I'll be looking for them :)

Started off slow, slowly gained momentum. I liked the story line. Liked the characters but felt is was a little slow for me.

Addison is a detective but she also has her own scars and secrets. She doesn't let people close, not in her work life nor in her private life. She feel's its safer that way. But things start to change when she spends the night with Ryan. She hasn't forgotten about that night, even 2 months later. But now she has to protect Ryan's sister. Ryan will do what he has to in order to keep his sister safe, including following Addison's rules. But all that changes when the stalker after his sister changes his sights to Addison.

I was slightly iffy about this one, just because I was on the fence on whether I would like Addison. And I am glad that I took the chance because I loved her! She is smart and fierce and even though she has been through a lot in her life-she still has this huge capacity for caring that she doesn't even think she has. Ryan is super sweet and protective but with a tough side that I didn't really think he had in him. They have this amazing chemistry that I absolutely loved! But they also have this friendship that I really wasn't expecting. The suspense was enough to keep me engaged and had twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I really hope after reading this that we get stories for Ryan's sisters though! I really liked their characters as well!

The flames are off the charts in this one! I'll be honest, I grabbed this book solely based on the fact that Daniel was the cover model and it was about firefighters, but I was pleasantly surprised by the well thought out suspense aspects of the story.

The only gripe I have, is the summary says, "But when the stalker sets his sights on the smart, sexy detective,"...this never happens in the book and I kept waiting for the plot twist to arrive. I was a little disappointed at the lack of accuracy since it was something I was looking forward to seeing after reading the summary (which I usually don't do anymore), especially Ryan becoming even more protective of Addison.

THE ROGUE is the fourth instalment in Kimberly Kincaid’s contemporary adult THE INTELLIGENCE UNIT erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work as first responders for the Remington Fire and Police. This is firefighter Ryan Dempsey, and Detective Addison Hale’s story line. THE ROGUE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from three third person perspectives THE ROGUE follows in the months after a one-night stand between our leading couple. Firefighter Ryan Dempsey’s younger sister Chloe believes she is being stalked, and Ryan is taking no chances with his sister’s safety. A call to the RPD finds Ryan facing his one-night stand, Detective Addison Hale, the woman who ghosted our hero the next morning. As Addison and the RPD begin an investigation into the alleged stalking, things begin to take an ominous turn when the RPD struggles to close on the deal. Meanwhile, Ryan and Addison continue to dance around their sexual attraction, an attraction that is quickly turning into something more. What ensues is the building relationship between Addison and Ryan, and the potential fall-out as Chloe’s stalker takes aim at someone else.

Detective Addison Hale doesn’t do relationships; never stays over night; refuses to give anyone a second chance but the wall around Addison’s heart is slowly crumbling as Ryan Dempsey continues to break down her barriers, one brick and donut at a time. Ryan Dempsey has never forgotten about the one who got away but never expected to come face to face with Addison Hale when his sister’s life is threatened by a total stranger. Ryan doesn’t want to sit back and wait for something to happen, and in this, Ryan is about to place himself in the direct line of fire, in an effort to protect the sister he loves.

The relationship between Ryan and Addison is slow to burn as Addison walks away without looking back. Addison battles between head and heart having lived through a painful childhood and her parent’s brutal marriage, a marriage and brutality that has scarred Addison’s heart to her own happily ever after. Ryan Dempsey is determined to prove that Addison is worthy of love, as he slowly seduces our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic, without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of energetic secondary and supporting characters many of whom we have met in previous instalments. We are introduced to Ryan’s sisters Chloe and Grace, as well as Addison’s sole source of support Master Ah-lam.

THE ROGUE is a story of obsession and delusion, family and friendships, revelations and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is provocative and hot; the characters are passionate and intense.

Ryan is the typical big brother who puts family first before anything else. When he spent one night with the woman an he has been interested in for awhile, Hale, he is left angry. Hale had the best night of her life with Ryan and she knew she had to leave before he woke up or things would go a different route than she wanted. She hasn’t talked to Ryan since that night but Faith has other plans for them. Hale responds to a call about a stalker and it turns out the woman being stalked with Ryan’s sister. They are now having to talk and be around each other to help keep Chloe safe. Will this give them the second chance needed to see where things go? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I haven't read the rest of this series however I also didn't feel I needed to in order to enjoy this story. I loved how the story developed and the characters were amazing and easy to read. The story kept me interested and absolutely needing more constantly. A great story.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This is book 4 in a series but I have not read any of the previous books and I still felt like I understood the group dynamics anyway. There were references to which couple met and how and a bit of history so that was great.

Ryan is a firefighter and Addison is a cop so they are thrown together at various events and this time - a wedding. Addison doesn't do relationships and was pretty resistant to dating anyone in her sphere of acquaintances so going home with Ryan was new for her.

They don't see each other again for several weeks and then only because Ryan's sister, Chloe, needed help with a stalker. Addison was very dedicated to looking past the surface and trying to get what she needed to protect Chloe and put the stalker away. While Ryan was more of a hot-headed alpha male. I think Addison showed tremendous control while Ryan kept messing things up!

Lots of drama, suspense, and romance as the chase is on to protect Chloe and get enough dirt on the stalker.

The Rogue will intrigue you with the case of a stalker and a love developing between the firefighter and the cop. The characters are well developed. This book will keep you reading until the end.

This was a romantic suspense where the suspense dominated the story. It was fast paced and somewhat horrifying in stalker realism, exciting with a satisfying resolution in the apprehension of the villain. While there was undeniable, steamy chemistry between Ryan and Addison, I would have liked more emotional interaction between them. There didn’t seem to be much emotional intimacy between them, maybe because of the fast-moving development of the investigation. I felt there were some story threads left unresolved in particular with Chloe, Ryan’s sister. Maybe she will be getting her story in the future? Exciting read.

I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.

I loved Ryan and Addison. I’m fairly new to this author so I can see some binge reading in my future. Ryan and Addison have polar opposite upbringings. It has shaped them into the adults they are. Ryan is more open to things, and Addison has walls up everywhere. With good reason. Ryan has to work really hard to convince her to give him a chance.
Since this is a romantic suspense book, we have that to deal with too. Addison gets put on a case involving Ryan’s sister so she can’t escape him. Not only does she have to find the stalker, but she has to keep Ryan from going after the guy. All without letting messy feelings get in the way. I definitely recommend this one.

Another great story set Remington from the Intelligence Unit series!

Ryan and Addison had a short fling, but have to team up when a stalker targets his sister. The connection they share is still there and only grows as they spend more time together. Especially when the stalker begins to target Addison.

This romantic suspense is well paced and balances the romance, mystery, and action nicely. It didn't feel as if one element of the story overwhelmed another. The story kept me glued to the page and I enjoyed it just as much as the others in the series.

The Rogue (The Intelligence Unit #4) by Kimberly Kincaid is the first book in this series that I have read. In fact, it has been a while since I have read a Kincaid book. For a time I read everything that she wrote now it seems that the scenes are hotter, the danger more so and the characters more flawed.

The writing is excellent pulling you into the story. The danger is believable and the couple’s chemistry is blazing hot. I found this to be an intriguing read that kept me turning the pages to be sure the dangerous stalker was caught. Addison is wary of any kind of commitment but Ryan is able to wait her out. In the meantime it is difficult for those two to stay any distance from the other.

For those who enjoy wonderful romantic suspense with steamy romance, then The Rogue is the book for you. It read well without me having read the earlier books in the series. Check it out today.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was so good and filled with my reading candy! It has two first responders as H/h, both guardian protector types and tight family -friend relationships. I happened to have some time in my ARC reading schedule and saw her ARC available so I jumped. I've been collecting Kimberly's bo0ks for years and finally found time to read one! This did not disappoint. It's set in Remington so we see friends from her previous series'. I really enjoyed the banter and her fresh author voice in this book.

Intelligence Detective Addison Hale keeps to her self. She has no family or social life, her precinct mates are family and work is her life. She has a positive outlook and refuses to give into the darkness of her past. Truthfully her outlook on life is a lot like mine, right down to her love of all things that glitter! She found a safe haven with her Tae Kwon Do Master Ah-lam, adopting the tenants into her life. When she and her partner Shawn Maxwell are called out on a potential stalking call they meet Chloe Ferguson and her adopted brother Ryan Dempsey. Because of her past she's sensitive to Chloe's fear and takes the call seriously.

Ryan Dempsey is a firefighter at Station 17. and a risk taker He is one of five adopted children of Lou and Charlene Dempsey. They are a tight knit supportive family. Chloe is the youngest and came into their family at 15 very traumatized. The whole family is very protective of her. When she calls in a panic Ryan comes to help taking the situation in hand calling the police. Ryan and Addison know each other because Precinct 33 and Station 17 frequently socialize. It is quickly determined Chloe has a very careful stalker. As much as Addison tries to keep "Daredevil" Ryan out of the investigation he is too much a protector to stay hands off. As they keep Chloe safe, their relationship deepens an things get dangerous.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The detectives of the Intelligence Unit will do what it takes to protect their own. In this case someone is stalking Ryan Dempsey’s sister, he’s a firefighter from station seventeen, and the team gets the call to help. Addison and Ryan had an easy friendship until the flirting got heavy and turned into a “thing.” Even with their budding relationship Addison stays focused on the stalker and the team finds a way to track him down. While the story focuses on Ryan and Addison, the investigation is quite interesting and detailed. If you enjoy a suspenseful read with creative clues, manipulative bad guys and chapters of hot steamy nights, this book is for you. The entire series is intriguing, exciting and HOT, also standalones. I received my copy from Netgalley, review provided voluntarily.

The Rogue is a perfect beach/pool read. The story is face pace with sexual tension that readers will love until they finally give in. The stalker is very much modern story that readers will be able to connect with. The Bad guy is the perfect stalker. The heroes are strong smart and play it by the book. Expect for the Alpha brother who has the need for justice.
The story gets a little slowed down with the romance and the inner monologue of the two main characters. The only reason The Rogue is not a 5 star read.

Thank you to Netgalley and publisher for advance copy of Kimberly Kincaid the Rouge
