#netgalley #coldfear A page turning thriller. Intriguing, suspense and one hell of a ride. Loved it !!! 4/5 stars
The riveting follow-up to Steel Fear. Whirlwind of a thriller! I loved it. This author has a knack for writing the perfect thriller and delivering it at the perfect pacing..
Set in Iceland, a young woman's body is found under the ice. Said body disappears on the way to the mortuary. Police a baffled. At the same time Finn comes to town - ex Navy SEAL, wanted for war crimes and arriving in Iceland to find three of his former colleagues. Police wonder about Finn and whether he had anything to do with the young dead woman. By this time I was losing the plot as I just could not follow what was going on, other than a lot of chasing around hotels, stealing personal items to then use to get into houses, dodging police and other Americans alike, It wasn't a badly written book or anything and the descriptions of the Icelandic early winter were evocative, just not for me. Thanks to NetGalley and Canelo for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
Wow, what an amazing story. I was very impressed by the first book in this series ‘Steel Fear’ which was such a great read. Brandon Webb and John David Mann have really outdone themselves with book number 2. I was spell bound most of the way through the story, and I couldn’t read it fast enough to find out what was going to happen.
Finn is one of those special characters that you can’t help but like. He has a lot of skills from being a Navy Seal, however he’s still traumatised by what happened on one of the missions he was sent on. He’s doing everything he can to remember what happened. Now he’s sure he’s being hunted down, while trying his best to not be arrested in Iceland, as more bodies are piling up.
Easily one of my favourite books this year. Highly recommended. 5/5 Star Rating.
