Biography and Memoir

Mary Anne Chambers was born in Jamaica in 1950, the third of four children. She was encouraged by her parents and brought up Catholic. From early on, she relied on her spiritual strength. At age nineteen, she married, and she and her husband Chris moved to Canada in 1976.

In her detailed and compelling memoir, she writes of how she was brought up early to achieve and had a goal of being independent. This memoir is an excellent account of her life as a wife and mother, as well as her role in business, politics, and community. Ultimately, the memoir is her story of the values and life events that shaped her life, and how she chose service and doing good in the world.
