This is very beautiful cookbook with incredible images. This cookbook isn't really my style but he's still a beautiful book. The recipes instructions are written very well.

Paul Hollywood always delivers. Lots of pictures and easy to follow recipes, and of course he brings cheeky humor making it a fun cookbook to have. It would be a great gift. I will definitely purchase for our library collection.

Who doesn't want a cookbook by THE Paul Hollywood? This lives up to hype and made it clear that I need a hardback copy in my life upon publishing. The photographs are beautiful and make you want to try everything. The directions are clear and easy to understand, which I appreciated. I also enjoyed that the units and baking temps are usable to US cooks too so no conversions are necessary.

Here is another great cookbook by baking favorite Paul Hollywood! Thanks to Net Galley and Bloomsbury USA for the chance to preview it. Publication date to by 7/19/2022.
The best part of this book are the beautiful photographs which are very inspiring. They make me want to try every recipe.
I appreciate that in this book measurements/baking temps are given in units familiar to US cooks. This was an issue for me with some previous baking books.
The directions in the recipes are concise and specific. My all time favorite is the Lemon Drizzle cake but also enjoyed the Blondies and Cherry cake specifically.
There is a brief introduction to the book and short summaries before each section as well a personal blurb about each recipe's inspiration. Again the style was concise which was most appreciated. This is a cookbook first and foremost with just enough of Paul's personality and glamour showing through. The recipes are really the stars in this work!.
Now I am just looking forward to cooking my way through this book!!!

This book is a wonderful and deliciously organized view on baking. The author gives some very good tips on baking and beautifully illustrated recipes that can soothe even some of the most timid bakers.
I highly recommend this book.

Hands down my favorite baking cookbook. I didn’t know who the author was before this book (I don’t watch a lot of television) but I’ll definitely be checking everything I can by him. I am so excited to start working through this cookbook! I don’t know what I want to try first.
The good stuff:
*Well written recipes
*Easy step by step instructions
*Easy to get ingredients (the fruit depends on the season obviously)
*Gorgeous pictures with every recipes (and some have step by step pictures)
The bad:
*It ended.

Who can resist Paul Hollywood, especially when he offers "My best ever recipes for the classics?" That's what's available in BAKE, his soon-to-be published new recipe collection. Ciabatta or the Ultimate Focaccia top the list of ones I want to try, but the options are many ranging from Beef Empanadas to Apple Pie. Each recipe is accompanied by at least one color photo, although nutritional information is not provided. Hollywood writes, "Nothing about baking is tricky, so if you've not done much before then I hope these recipes will encourage you to give it a go." The cookbook has six sections: Cakes; Cookies and Scones; Breads and Flatbreads; Pizzas and Doughnuts; Pastry and Pies; and Desserts – plenty from which to choose and enjoy!

This was a surprisingly easy-to-follow baking book! I loved the pictures and step-by-step directions mixed with a variety of tips and tricks. Paul used far more exclamation points than I would have expected, but it was fun to go through and read his thoughts on the different recipes. I can see why the lemon drizzle cake is his favorite! This book would be perfect gift for any fan of GBBO.

This is a beautiful cookbook from Paul Hollywood. People who love British Bake Off are going to adore this. Before I got it, I expected the techniques and recipes to be very advanced. I can follow a recipe, but I'm a beginner in baking. I was so surprised when everything felt very approachable and manageable for even beginners. It will make you feel like a professional and you can make all of those delicious treats you have seen on tv so many times. I am excited to see this book in print, because the screen definitely doesn't do the photos justice. There's nothing like a big beautiful cookbook on your shelf!

I really enjoyed this collection of Hollywood's favorite bakes. This cookbook is very approachable and filled with flavor combinations that everyone will enjoy.

Paul Hollywood, The King of Bread and of course the star of the Great British Baking Show, gives us a wonderful book of classics perfect for both beginning and experienced bakers. This book is easy to understand and the pictures are beautiful. I love sourdough bread, so why would I not want Paul Hollywood's recipe? He's Mr. Bread! Likewise for the pizza dough. Of course I want to try it!
I've always wanted to learn to make macarons, and the lime macaron recipe looks amazing. That is top of my list, along with the Victoria Sponge, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Individual Lemon Sponges, and so much more. All the classics are here, and they are shared in a much more casual way than we're used to seeing from Hollywood, who is normally in "baking competition" mode on our tv screens.
If you want a beautiful cookbook of all the classics as shared with you by an experienced and famous baker, pick this one up.
I received a temporary digital copy of this book from Bloomsbury USA via Netgalley, but I will purchae a hard copy of this one. My review is voluntary and my opinions are my own.

I mean ... one does not simply _not_ request/read a Paul Hollywood book when it appears on NetGalley, amirite? :D
I may not have Netflix anymore to keep up with "The Great British Baking Show," but that just means I'm in even more need of a Paul handshake (as long as he's not side-eyeing me with those piercing blue eyes and making me second-guess every plan I've got). :D :D
This cookbook is gorgeous--exactly what I expected, and then some, from the master bread maker, who possesses a more extensive repertoire than I ever realized! I loved reading about Paul "beyond GBBO"; frankly, he felt a lot more approachable here than he does on screen, haha. I was surprised to see the recipes he recommends new bakers start with (the Victoria sandwich, for starters, and that cherry cake should be "in every baker's repertoire"); I couldn't help but hear his pronunciations of "ciabatta" and "scohns" in my head as I read (not to mention Mel and Prue kicking it off with "BAKE!"); and I was pretty darn excited that he included a recipe for chouxnuts, even if I'd much prefer to buy and eat one than make it myself.
The book is a veritable encyclopedia (but way more approachable than Brittanica) for the home baker. It explains the "why" behind so many baking quirks, and will only enhance one's baking experience. GBBO fans and non-fans--is there such a thing?--alike will enjoy it, as it features many a sweet and a savoy recipe straight from the show.
Brilliantly photographed, written, and presented, it's deserving of a Hollywood handshake if I do say so myself.
I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

The recipes in this book, both traditional and original to this book, were clearly and concisely delivered. I found that I could, without a problem, bake any one of these recipes with the instructions provided. I particularly liked that there were recipes for bakers of all skill levels -- something that is not present in every cookbook. The images were beautiful, as was the way they were laid out. I would definitely purchase this for myself or a friend once the book is published.

This is a wonderful cookbook that any avid baker should have on their shelves. It has all the standards you'll want to refer back to time and time again: sourdough, english muffins, naan, pizza dough, etc. Paul Hollywood's recipes are simple and straightforward and his instructions are clear and easy to follow. I appreciate such a detailed yet simple book from a master of baking! I like knowing that I can find a gold standard for any beloved bread recipe by flipping through the pages of Bake and I can't wait to have a hard copy for myself!

"The ultimate baking book from internationally beloved baker Paul Hollywood, judge of The Great British Baking Show.
In BAKE, Paul Hollywood shares his best ever recipes for classic bakes: cakes, biscuits and cookies, breads and flatbreads, pizza and doughnuts, pastries and pies, and showstopping desserts. From classic cakes like Victoria Sandwich and Chocolate Fudge Cake, through brilliant breads like foolproof Sourdough, to savoury and sweet pastries like Sausage Rolls and Danish Pastries, these are the only recipes you'll need to create perfectly delicious bakes time and time again.
With more years as a professional baker than he'd care to remember and over 10 years judging the best baking show on TV, Paul has created, tested and tasted a huge number of bakes. He has also traveled widely and learnt so much about the craft he loves. For Paul, one of the most joyful things about baking is how it evolves as we discover new techniques, ingredients and influences. As our knowledge improves, so do our recipes.
Paul combines every tip and trick he has learned together with his incredible technical know-how to create the ultimate collection of incredible bakes."
I'm not one of those people who love to hate Paul Hollywood, I straight up love him.

What a luscious, glorious cookbook. I am a baker by choice and a fan of GBBO so I was very excited to get an ARC of this book. Couldn’t be happier with the contents. Glorious photos, detailed recipes, a variety of bakes. I enjoyed reading why Paul included certain recipes and why they were meaningful to him.
The ingredient lists were approachable, the recipes written out clearly, the directions easy to follow. I tried some recipes I bake often myself (brownies, blondies) and some that are newer to me. They are all splendid.
This is a great book to have on your shelf—from familiar bakes to showstoppers.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book has the simple recipes that you will find yourself making again and again. There are loads of pictures so you can see how the final product should look. The cheese scones are full of cheesy goodness, and the recipes for puff and rough puff pastry are exceptional. This is a great book for budding bakers and anyone who wants to bake well. This book covers sweet to savory.

The pics are great. I really like that there’s a picture to go along with each recipe. I like that there’s both imperial and metric conversions for each recipe. I like that most recipes are only on one page; so I can easily snap a pic if I want to save the recipe for later use. I like that there aren’t a ton of ingredients in each recipe as well.

Perfect for fans of The Great British Bake-Off/Baking Show.
Laden with beautiful photographs, the book collects classic recipes and all the little tips that Paul drops on the show.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book., provided by NetGalley.

BAKE: My Best Ever Recipes for the Classics by Paul Hollywood is a 5-star book. Yum! The instructions were easy to follow, and the pictures were great to have as an accompaniment. I want to try all the recipes! The Victoria Sandwich recipe was one of my favorites, as well as the Lemon Drizzle Cake.
Bake is a great book to have on any baker's or cook's shelf.
