Absolutely loved The Kiss Curse! I really liked The Ex Hex, so I was coming into this one with a lot of expectations. Both were so fun to read and the town of Grave’s Glen is so magical, literally! Haha. I love the dynamic between the Jones cousins, Vivi and Gwyn, and of course their chemistry and banter with the Penhallow boys, Rhys and Wells. The perfect witchy romance to get you in the Halloween spirit!

“The Kiss Curse” was a fun, spooky season romance. It has magic and fantasy elements as the book centers around witches with some features of werewolves. While the book went by quickly, I can’t say that I loved this one such that I’d read it again every fall. Accordingly, this one is a 3 star rating for me. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy for review.

This book gives me all the fall time, small town, Halloween feels that I was craving this season. Gwyn Jones is the only Jones witch in Graves Glen while her cousin Vivi and Rhys take their honeymoon. She finds herself stuck with the irritating and handsome Wells Penhallow, who she just can't stop thinking about. With her hands full running her shop during tourist season, mentoring some young witches, and dealing with a new coven in town the last thing she needs is for her powers to start mysteriously flickering in and out. Wells may be the only one who can help her - in more ways than one.

I absolutely love the characters and the world of Graves Glen and would definitely read more in this storyline (maybe Bowen??). The baby witches and Sir Purrcival were wonderful and true highlights. The Kiss Curse was a quick and enjoyable read. The plot doesn't really start happening until the book is over halfway through, but to be honest I liked all the character development happening so much that I didn't even mind. Readers would be fine jumping into the series here if you haven't read the first book, but it was fun following a new character in the Jones family. As a romance book there's a little steamy action, but more focus is put on the buildup between the two characters. The banter between Wells and Gwyn is delightfully witty and really showcases her sass.

This is the perfect read for October. It's a cute romance and fun to lose yourself in for a few hours. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC! I really look forward to more from Erin Sterling

Another fun witchy read for Erin Sterling!

I loved Gwyn's character in The Ex Hex so it was exciting to see she was getting her own book. Dare I say, I think I liked this more than The Ex Hex. I can totally picture the witchy town of Grave's Glenn and was happy to be transported back. The enemies/rivals to lovers is one of my favs, I loved Wells, and we got some great spicy scenes!

Highly recommend for spooky/witchy season!

Thank you to Net Galley and Avon Books for the eARC.

Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the eARC.

I went back and forth between four and five stars for this one. Is it a perfect book? No. Are there points in the book where I roll my eyes a bit? Yes. But it was the absolute best palate cleanser between heavier reads, and I was so entertained that I read it in a day.

Full disclosure: I never read The Ex Hex. I was going to, but the reviews on that one were mixed, and I wanted to see if this one could be read alone. It definitely can. I even understood the gist of what happened in the first book.

Gwyn is entertaining, confident, and a bit of a whirlwind. I liked her from the start, and even though she had hang-ups, it was nice that they weren't overdone. Some of her antics were a bit over the top (when the eye-rolling came in), but overall, she was a fun FMC.

It started a bit with the Sunshine vs. Grumpy trope, but Wells' character arc was a nice touch without feeling too much like a 180 in personality. He turned out to be quite swoon-worthy (especially during some of the steamier scenes).

The plot is one area that could have been a little more developed. There's a story and even a side story, but they were thinner than I would have liked. However, enough of a plot existed that I zipped right through, despite seeing the twists and turns up ahead.

Overall, very entertaining read.

If you loved The Ex Hex, you're also going to love The Kiss Curse. The story continues right where it left off, but this time we're seeing what Gwyn is up to. All the fall/Halloween/Witchy vibes are constant throughout the book!

I feel like you could easily read this book even if you didn't read the first one, but it does spoil how the first one ended. So, if you want to read both, make sure to read them in order.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyage for the galley!

The Kiss Curse follows the same group of characters we were introduced to in The Ex Hex, but with a focus on Gwyn Jones and Rhys’ brother, Llewellyn Penhallow. Gwyn and Llewellyn quickly become rivals when Llewellyn moves to Graves Glen and proceeds to open a witchcraft show directly across from Gwyn’s successful Something Wicked shop. Things quickly move from business rivals to partners as Gwyn’s power weakens and a new witch coven come to town. Gwyn and Llewellyn must work together to stop this new magic and save Gwyn’s powers before it’s too late.

This was the PERFECT way to start off the season of fall. It was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I actually enjoyed this book more than the first book, The Ex Hex. I really enjoyed having more magic described in this book and how the romance between Gwyn and Llewellyn developed. The town, Graves Glen, just felt like a hug. I finished this book and immediately began wishing I could visit it again soon!

Thank you Avon books and NetGalley for my copy in exchange for my honest review.

An entirely fun and charming follow up to The Ex Hex! Gwyn is excellent as the lead in this one and Wells is an excellent partner for her both in love and magic. Graves Glen is a great setting that's worth returning to, and I enjoyed Gwyn's "baby witches" that she took under her wing. The magic in this series is uncomplicated and it's a perfect seasonal read.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this one even better than the first. Enemies to lovers who hate that they are attracted to each other and blame it on anything else other than themselves? I loved it! I think the change from enemies to lovers was great and the B plot was actually really dramatic, which I loved. I think this was even more fun than the first one and that the mystery was better.

4 stars.

This was a cute ready for the spooky season. A sprinkling of witchy and steamy that was satisfying. I would have like to seem more build up and depth in the kind of enemies to lovers aspect.

The Kiss Curse is a funny and somewhat adorable continuation of The Ex Hex. This book had great pop culture references and had me laughing out loud at moments. The chemistry between Wells and Gwyn was also done very well! A great spooky rom-com to read this fall!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon And Harper Voyager for this ARC.

I must admit, I was feeling pretty lukewarm about returning to Graves Glen. I was however extremely interested in learning how Gwyn’s story would shake out as she was one of my favorite characters in The Kiss Curse so I waded on in and I just say I’m glad I did.

The Kiss Curse ended up a delightful trip back to Graves Glen and I must admit I liked this book way more than The Ex Hex. Gwyn, Sir Purrcival and the trio of Baby Witches really made this book. The banter between Wells and Gwyn was truly top notch and I would gladly have the series continue just following them alone.

I’m terms of drawbacks, I was the big bad had been bigger and badder and added a touch more drama but all in all I enjoyed this read and will definitely read this one again.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC this was a strong 3 for me and I highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun witchy read.

I enjoyed this second entry in The Ex Hex series even more than the first. Gwyn and her novelty witch shop take center stage here, as Halloween approaches and the town of Graves Glen prepares for an influx of tourists. All is going well until the man she loathes most in the world sets up shop across the street. Wells has his own reasons for being in town, but he's actually enjoying running his high-end stationery and gift store, except for the impossible-to-ignore tacky shop and its bright-haired owner across the road.

Sterling does a good job of balancing whimsy with drama. There are some hilarious moments with the three young witches Gwyn is mentoring, as well as my favorite character, talking cat Sir Purrcival. And a very funny and steamy bit with a love potion gone awry. But there are also serious stakes involving the town's stabilizing magic, as well as family conflict.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

Erin Sterlin delivers the perfect follow up to The Ex Hex in her new book The Kiss Curse. I love the enemies to lovers theme throughout the book, obviously taken up a notch by witchcraft. The prefect fall story.

I couldn't love this series more. It's a perfect Fall read. The Kiss Curse is Gwynn and Wells's story. While it's the second in the series, it can be read as a standalone. Wells is bored of his life in Wales running the family pub. He decides to move to Graves Glen where his brother Rhys recently moved and married and open a witch-related shop. Gwynn, who runs her own similar shop across the street, is less than pleased. This enemies to lovers romance has so much chemistry. The banter is great. The setting is perfect. The witchy aspects are a blast. There's a cozy, fun feel to the whole book that just sucks you in and has you cuddling up with a warm blanket and sipping tea while reading before you even know what happened. The progression of the relationship between Wells and Gwynn felt natural and true to who they are. I highly recommend this book. You won't want to put it down!

The Kiss Curse by Erin Sterling

I enjoyed this one more than The Ex Hex! The Ex Hex was cute, but I found it a little ridiculous at times…The Kiss Curse was cute and then some. I loved the relationship between Gwyn and Wells. Gwyn’s character was my favorite in book 1 and Wells was right up there with her by the end of this one. I also adored Gwyn’s younger witches she was mentoring 😍

I’m really hoping we are getting a book three! Especially considering there was a slight cliffhanger with a certain evil man.

I recommend this if you are looking for a romcom witchy read this October!

Thank you to @netgalley @avonbooks and @harpervoyagerus for the arc in exchange for my honest review!
