I really enjoyed this read. It had a few twists that were unexpected and definitely a page turner at some points, and of course, a love story :)
Thank you to NetGalley for my advance copy.
I really enjoyed this book about cowboys and Christmas. I loved the story and will have to buy the book when it comes out. Love the book cover!
Interesting story of a divorced father who moves from Seattle to Texas because of his son. Trevor had gotten in with the wrong crowd and was having problems. His father thought moving Trevor from the city to a ranching community might help his son. The was a journalist and could work from anywhere as long as he had the internet. He also had family in Texas which was a plus in moving there. The story is the up and down in adjusting to the move and having new people in their life. It was a quick and enjoyable read and I would recommend it to others.
I have enjoyed this series up to this book but just was not that impressed with this story. It just did not grab my interest and hold it.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Cooper decided to movecto Texas with his son to be closer to his sister. When Cooper meets Jess he knows he wants to get to know her better. This book got me excited for the holidays.
Cooper moves his son, Trevor, to a small town to be with his sister and brother-in-law when Trevor starts getting into to trouble with the wrong crowd. He is at a loss as to how to get through to the troubled teen. The answer shows itself in the form of a run down farm, a weathered old man, a long ago forgotten sleigh, and a tenacious , little girl with a heart of gold. Things are not smooth sailing, but with love, friendship, and family anything is possible.
Loved this story. The characters truly seem like old friends we get to visit. The plot moved along smoothly and was capturing from start to finish.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I don't normally read Christmas books during the warmer seasons but I couldn't resist Somebody Like Santa! This is a delightful holiday read and I have a feeling I'll be grabbing a print copy when it releases so I can re-read it during the holidays!
Janet Dailey brings us the story of Cooper and his son Trevor. When Trevor starts hanging out with the wrong crowd and getting in trouble, Cooper knows it is time for a change. Luckily for him, his sister lives with her family in the town of Branding Iron, Texas. With his sister, he finds school counselor Jess at their welcome dinner with obvious reasons for both Chapman men. As Trevor tries to find his way and place in a new school and neighborhood, Cooper finds himself drawn to Jess. Similar choices leads Trevor to an unexpected gift while past secrets are discovered which tear apart the fragile relationship Cooper has created with Jess. Will these two Chapman men be able to overcome life's obstacles, or will they fall prey to past mistakes?
Janet Dailey brings us a story of family and love. She draws us into the lives of Cooper and Trevor as they find their way in their new home of Branding Iron with support from his sister and her family. You want to see what they do next. I enjoyed reading about Cooper, Trevor, and Jess. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Oh this was really a good one, Nicely written.
I received an ARC of Somebody Like Santa, by Janet Dailey. What a fun read about family, love, cowboys, and Christmas
I really, really enjoyed this book! It was captivating and it hooked me from the very first chapter! It was such a sweet and romantic story!
Somebody like Santa by Janet Dailey . Heartwarming and enjoyable read. Just the right touch to get into the Holiday spirit. And yes, everyone does need a Maggie in their lives.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
Somebody Like Santa, by Janet Daily, is set in small town in Texas, in 1997 (necessary to set the stage where cell phone use was still pretty antiquated (lack of cell towers) in less populated, out of the way towns) takes you on a roller coaster ride with a messages of starting over (for both adults and children), trusting others, and finding love where you least expect it.
With a stirring plot revolving around suspense, tension, romance, and HEA’s for Cooper and Jess, and others who are escaping hard (physically and emotionally) situations, the author keeps the pages turning…the rock stars of the story though are the young people, especially Maggie!
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
This was really good. I love reading Janet Dailey books. They are heartfelt and romantic. I am grateful that netgalley let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
Now this is what I call a Janet Dailey book - so well written, you just keep on, keep on reading until, before you know it, you’ve finished the whole book in one sitting! It’d make a really pleasant way to spend a day around Christmas, especially if you like good clean and sweet romances and family stories in a small town cowboy setting.
I wish the ending was more well developed though, and I spotted a story between Ruth and Judd that doesn’t seem complete and this is already book 5 of 5.
This can be read as a standalone.
4 and a half stars for me.
This is a quick fun read with likable characters in a lovely setting…this author is talented and gifted…well known…this is a book I enjoyed , reading one afternoon with snow on YouTube on the television…curl up in a comfy chair with a warm afghan and have fun. This book was sent to me for review from Netgalley.
