This story made me think of The Polar Express where children are whisked off in the night on a magical train and taken to a magical land. These children were taken to a real life Candy Land. I think my 8 year old would love this.
Such a sweet story but I am sorry it's a bit boring. The illustration wasn't the best either. It may be a good bedtime story told by the guardian but I think it's a bit difficult for a kid to read this book alone because the text is dense
This book tells the story of a boy named Will whose grandmother often told him bedtime stories about a trip to Candy Mountain. In his dream he boards a train and visits for himself. This is a fun book about a land of candy - what kid wouldn't love it! The pictures are fairly simple and there is quite a bit of text on a page but I could see this being a great shared reading or read aloud book, as well as a book children could read independently later on. I think this book would be good for children in the 6-9 age range. The book ends with some guided questions for adults and children to discuss together. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
This is a cute story about a boy who travels to Candy Mountain. He meets a friend along the way, eats lots of delicious treats, and returns home waking in his bed and wondering if it was all a dream. This story made me think of The Polar Express where children are whisked off in the night on a magical train and taken to a magical land. These children were taken to a real life Candy Land. I think my 4-year-olds would enjoy this story. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
A lovely story for those older children that have outgrown typical picture books but secretly still love a bedtime story 😊 Its a wonderful dream adventure, and the easy friendship between Will and Quin is something children can relate too. There are many discussions points beyond those at the end of the book.
Will's Adventure to Candy Mountain was such a fun adventure! Will joins another boy Quinn, on a magical adventure to Candy Mountain. I loved the gingerbread and snow people, it was really fun. The illustrations were bright but also reminiscent of a book from the 90's. Any child would love this book!
