Kate Clayborn is such a fantastic storyteller and I love how much attention this book is getting because it is very much deserved. Georgie and Levi are both figuring their lives out as many in our mid-thirties do. Georgie is at a point where she has lost her job and doesn't know what to do next in her life and is learning what her "calling" really is or if she even has one. Difference is Georgie has been very lucky in the sense that she has always had safe space, her home, her parents, her friends. Levi, on the other hand was never allowed a safe space. Georgie allowed him to fall apart and come into his own by being his safe space and they had a magnificent love story.

CW: Trauma from a parent.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review as always, all words are my own.

Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn

Georgie returns to her hometown after being let go from her job in LA. She doesn’t know what she wants to do or where she wants to be, and hopes to find some kind of spark of life as she travels through her memories. Enter Levi 😉. Levi is the guy with a bad reputation, the bad sheep of his family, who is trying to stick to a straight and narrow path. He doesn’t have space for wild Georgie.

This book was fantastic. The best romance I’ve read in a while! It was incredibly endearing, fun and captivating. It was predictable in all the best ways, like a comfort romcom. Georgie and Levi were so perfect for each other but also such good characters on their own. I loved both of their stories.

Highly recommend this one! I’m confident it will be very popular when it comes out at the end of the month (Jan 24th!). Thank you to @kensingtonbooks for my copy!

This is my absolute favorite book Kate Clayborn has ever written. I laughed, I swooned, I freaking cried. I loved it so very much and want everyone and their mothers to read it. It was so very beautiful and so very good. I'm grateful for an early copy

My first Five-star read of the year!! I was so excited to get to this because so many of my blogger friends have loved this book. I understand the hype now! Not only is the cover amazing, but so is the inside.

Georgie is feeling lost and like a blank page. All her life she’s worried about others and working as a personal assistant has come to an end. She doesn’t know what to do and ends up going home. Her best friend has also moved home to prepare for her first baby. Georgie decides it’s the perfect time to go home and help her out. Still, she’s finding herself feeling lost and not fitting into the lives around her. She finds a book from High School about plans they made. She decides to take it and start doing the things she never did during High School. She’s hoping it will help her find her way or figure out what she wants to do with her life.

Then comes Levi Fanning. Levi is someone that I wanted to give a huge hug and protect from the very instant I met him. He’s had a rough life and those around him think of him as a troublemaker. Sure, this was in his younger years but sometimes it’s hard to shake off those opinions. Levi is a hermit and keeps to himself. He’s got a family he doesn’t speak to and they are the rich family in town. Turns out, there’s a lot of history there and it’s quite heartbreaking. He’s content just being on his own and ignored. Although, that changes when Georgie comes to town.

Georgie and Levi end up in a situation that pushes them together. Of course, you know what’s going to happen but it was so beautiful to see. Levi and Georgie both have a lot of things to work out and I loved seeing them do this together. I was shocked at how deep and emotional this book was. I cried several times throughout this book! It’s so emotionally charged and I just loved Levi so much. At the same time, Clayborn does a fantastic job of adding some light moments to break up all the harder moments.

This is my first book by Clayborn but it will not be my last. I’m going to go through her backlist and see what I can get my hands on. This book was amazing from beginning to end. The chemistry between Levi and Georgie was off the charts and their romance was so swoon-worthy. I have to give a shout-out to Hank, who was the sweetest dog. This is a book that you will not be able to put down. When you finish this book, you will not be able to stop thinking about it! I highly recommend this one. Go pick it up once it releases!!

Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for an e-arc to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This has the elements that made me love Kate Clayborn’s previous novels: great chemistry between the couple and a charming town or setting with an equally charming cast of characters. In addition, I really loved the dual first-person POV here because it makes the reader understand better the reasons why Georgie and Levi, who are both trying to sort out something in their lives, act the way they do.

I found the first few chapters to be a bit all over the place, with Georgie coming back to her hometown and unearthing her diary, and crossing paths with Levi for the first time, but it starts to flow smoothly once it’s established that there’s a spark between the two main characters. Overall, this was such an enjoyable read and is something that I can see rereading in the future.

Love Lettering was my first novel by Kate Clayborn and I adored it. With that in mind I was really excited to read her upcoming book ahead of release. Georgie Mulcahy is back in her hometown after her career as a personal assistant to the stars comes to at least a temporary halt. Coming home is quite a shock after being away for so many years. Most of her memories revolve around her high school experience, and she soon discovers an old diary of sorts with a list of must-do activities that she never did before she left town. But the biggest surprise she finds is a roommate at her parents' house that she was not expecting. Levi Fanning, bad boy and older brother of her high school crush is currently playing the role of grumpy hermit instead.

Both main characters have a fair bit of baggage they are carrying. Levi has his old reputation and Georgie finds herself without direction in her current state and has unfinished business from the past to sort out. Things don't go well at first but the two eventually find their way to a path to happiness and help each other along at various points while they figure things out. The romance of the relationship is dependent on both of them working out their old issues but the attraction is there from early in the book.

While this doesn't reach the great heights of Lover Lettering, it's a great story and I like the way it doesn't rush romance in the midst of characters working out their lives. There are plenty of good side characters along the way, including Georgie's best friend who has also moved back just as she's about to become a mother, her quirky parents, Levi's brother and sister and various town folk we meet in the book.

Overall, this was a great read and I give it 3.5 stars. Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Books for giving me an advanced reader copy. I have provided this review voluntarily.

I wish I had it in me this morning to write the review that Georgie, All Along deserves, one that isn’t just the equivalent of 1000 heart emojis alternating with 1000 crying face emojis. But perhaps it’s an endorsement that I don’t - have it in me - since it’s because I just cried a whole lot and am entirely overwhelmed with feelings.

Georgie, All Along worked for me in all the ways. Like, really really worked. I fell hard for both Georgie and Levi - her because she’s expansive and enthusiastic and really good at living, even though she doesn’t realise it; him because he’s big-hearted, hurt and vulnerable, and loves his dog, Hank, to the absolute maximum. As with all Kate Clayborn stories, the plot isn’t the thing for me - although she does wonderful and new things with ‘big city girl comes back to small town to find herself’. It’s the absolute attention that’s paid to Georgie and Levi’s interior worlds, and the attentiveness to their interactions. It’s intense; forensic even. I could dwell in some of these scenes all day and not be bored by Levi making pizza or Georgie reliving a high school rite of passage.

I also fell for the way this book extends the generosity and care it gives to its main characters to the secondary cast: I was wholly in love with Georgie’s hippy parents; with her best friend Bel; with Levi’s estranged siblings; and with his former professor Hedi. And obviously with Hank, the bestest dog in all the world.

The aforementioned crying came not during the low moment - which is properly devastating - but during what follows, and not because it was sad but because it was so tender and caring and kind. Sometimes a book finds a spot on your heart and pushes on it; makes you open up in a new way. Honestly, I felt that here. I was reflecting on how, in all those years I read mostly literary fiction, I learnt a lot about the very worst experiences and emotions of human life. Since I’ve mostly been reading romance, I’ve realised how little I used to contemplate the equal complexities of good things, of joyful, positive feelings, in comparison. For me, the very best romance - and this is it - reveals something new about that complexity; it expands my understanding of love.

Right, I’m going to wash my blotchy face now and get on with my day, with a slightly bigger heart that I would otherwise have had.

Filled with emotion and vulnerability, Georgie All Along is the type of book you just want to hug.

After years of working as a personal assistant, Georgie is used to being busy. However, when her job comes to an end and her boss tells her she now has time to do the things she always wanted to do, Georgie isn’t quite sure what that might be. She decides to leave LA and spend some time in her small hometown of Darentville. However, plans somewhat come to a change when she finds an unexpected guest, Levi Fanning, staying at her childhood home who also happens to be the older, bad boy brother of her HS crush. Under the same roof, the two slowly get close and when Georgie finds her childhood bucket list at her best friends house and wants to cross some items off list in hopes of finding a new direction in life, Levi offers to help her. What Georgie and Levi quickly learn is that things don’t always go as planned.

This book is so much more than just a romance. It’s about female friendships, fractured families, finding fufillment on life, and making choices. Not only were Georgie and Levi lovable main characters, but the supporting cast (including Hank the dog) was top notch and added the perfect amount of depth to the story. I’m happy that we got dual POVs as it allowed me to truly understand both Georgie and Levi’s insecurities and feelings around the same situations and feel like they were both my friends. This is my first Clayborn book and I have to say I’m extremely impressed by the way she tied up all the side storylines and gave us the swooniest of romances in the in the 352 pages.

Read if you like:
-Romances with depth
-Grumpy/sunshine pairing
-Small town vibes
-Bucket lists / Fan fic
-Female friendships and family drama
-Simplistic writing with a complex story

Pub: 1/24!!

"Georgie, All Along" put some new twists on some tried-and-true troupes. I fell for Georgie as a character instantly, and thoroughly enjoyed Levi as well, though, as was his nature, it took some time for him to appeal :)
Even though some aspects of the story felt predictable, Kate Clayborn handled them in a different way, so it still felt fresh and interesting. All in all, a lovely romance.

Had trouble connecting with the characters🙁

3.5🌟 stars
I loved the previous novel I read by Kate Clayborn but just could not get into this one. It seemed to go on forever; I could not believe it was only just over 350 pages. I had to keep putting it down and coming back to it.

So much goes on in the heads of the main characters and, quite frankly, the idea of the high school planning book sounded better in the book blurb than it actually worked out.

Characterwise, Hank the dog and Georgie's parents were the highlights for me. I liked George and Levi but the hesitations and angst in their relationship and Levi's history with his family not so much.

Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this book! The chemistry between the Georgie and Levi is sizzling, but their relationship is also achingly sweet and real. Georgie is delightful and I kept wondering where I could find a man like Levi.

Special thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC of this book for an honest review.

To sum up my experience reading this book: wow.

I read and completed this on the first day of January and it definitely set me up for a good year. I haven't read such a good romance book in a really long time, especially one that focused on heavier philosophies.

The major thing I loved about this book was Georgie's character. It might be because I relate to her (maybe way to deeply), but it felt so real reading her battle with her importance in life. Not having a plan or maybe not even wanting a plan for your life can seem daunting in reference to those around you, but Georgie's journey in discovering who she is helped alleviate this concern for hr, and honestly for me as the reader.

Her and Bel's friendship was also so sweet and I loved reading about their friendship and dynamic. The books I have been reading have severely lacked the depth between a heroine and her friends, but this book did not shy away from the ups and downs of true friendship. Also, Bel helping Georgie why she was so special was such a sweet moment for me to read and I almost cried.

For the most important part (obviously), Levi and Georgie. Reading about Levi and his character was very heart-breaking, but he is such a sweet character. I'm glad that Clayborn went away from the "evil family" route that sometimes tags along these storylines, and that his complicated relationships worked towards a happier ending. I thought that Georgie and Levi were such a perfect pairing and I severely enjoyed their awkward tension and them opening up to each other.

If you scrolled down to see if you should read this book... YES YOU SHOULD. I'm so grateful I was chosen to read this ARC and I recommend you read once it is published.

If Kate Clayborn has a million fans, then I’m one of them. If she has one fan, that’s me. If she has no fans, that means I’m dead. I am a Kate Clayborn fan first and a person second.

You know those oddly satisfying videos with, like, a slow pour of caramel or a long, unbroken strip of perfectly peeled apple? That’s what reading Kate Clayborn is like. What a pleasure it is to experience an author who has refined the craft of ROMANCE. How thrilling it is to read a story executed at the height of an author’s skills. How exhilarating it is to feel emotionally wrung out by a book!

Sometimes, I will read a stretch of profoundly mid-tier romance novels and think, “Do I even like romance? Do I even like to read?” I’ll read yet another book where the author is always there winking as they flip the switches, turn the gears, jiggle the puppet strings, and send another trope down the chute. And then I’ll read something like Georgie, All Along and think, “Oh. OH. This is what effortless immersion means. This is what it feels like to be fully engaged with a story as it unfurls.”

I have probably written this in every review of a Kate Clayborn book, but her work is unmatched for me in terms of intimacy. Not just in terms of physicality—though she remains exceptional at capturing the heart-stopping ache of two people existing in the same space—but in terms of emotions. Too many romance authors write characters who are bullet points in the loose shapes of people. Clayborn creates human beings. She captures all the beautifully messy and imperfect facets of humans falling in love and doing their best. What Clayborn does is gently pry open her characters, exposing all of their raw vulnerabilities but also their quiet resilience. They try! They try so hard and want so deeply!!

Georgie and Levi have distinct voices and fulfilling journeys, separately and together. Clayborn continues to be a master at providing sensory details that are not only elegant in their deployment but also meaningful to the story. She gives the story a sense of place. The stylistic flourishes are clever, the jokes are funny, and the angst is agonizing but in a bury-your-face-in-a-pillow way, not a slam-your-head-on-a-desk way. It may not be the Christmas season anymore, but my heart grew three sizes reading this. It became expansive.

The whole time I was reading Georgie, All Along I kept thinking of the song Why Georgia by John Mayer. To say that I loved Kate Clayborn’s newest book is an understatement, Love Lettering is one of my favourite books and I honestly think I loved Georgie, All Along more!

Georgie and Levi somehow just fit, and it’s clear that they both held themselves back because of how people saw them. I love how Georgie brought Levi out of his shell and broke down his walls. I loved how Levi grew throughout the book and learned that he was more that what he was always told! I even loved Bel, and her and Georgie’s lifelong friendship.

This was such a sweet book, it was a fun, sometimes emotional way of two people finding themselves and how they fit in the world, and with each other. Thank you so much to Kate Clayborn and Kensington Publishing for an advanced digital copy via NetGalley in exchange for review.

First, I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for a digital advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved this book, and I cannot imagine a better book to start the year off.

Georgie, All Along is the first novel I've read by Kate Clayborn. I really did not know what to expect, but I am so glad that I requested this ARC. I ADORED this book and will buy it as soon as it hits shelves later this month.

This story is more than a romance. It's a story about making mistakes and learning from them. It's a story about looking at the most vulnerable part of oneself and learning to love what one sees. It's a beautiful, wholesome story about learning to care for others while not sacrificing your own desires. Georgie was such a fun, genuine main character, and all of the people in her life were fantastic. I want to live in this small town and befriend them all.

Instead of continuing to gush about how much I loved this story, I will list 10 reasons why the love interest, Levi, is the book boyfriend you have been waiting for.
1. Levi is a dark, broody, reformed bad boy. 🖤
2. He is the secretly tenderhearted grump that balances Georgie's sunshine personality.
3. He is passionate about the environment.♻️
4. His best friend is a dog he rescued. He even sends his dog to daycare!
5. He is protective of those he loves.
6. He goes to therapy.
7. He admits when he is wrong.
8. Levi continually sacrifices his own happiness for those in his life.
9. He takes pride in his house. He might have a Pinterest account.🤭
10. Levi is a perfectly imperfect character. Despite all of his amazing qualities that seem too good to be true, his character is imperfect and flawed.

If you are going to pick up one newly released romance book this year, let it be Georgie, All Along. You do not have to wait long! Georgie, All Along releases on January 24th, 2023!

This time, instead of a review I would like to write a big, fat, red heart emoji if that’s okay with you, guys. Because - this book!!! This beautifully written, hilarious and wholesome book!

❤️❤️❤️

Georgie comes back to her hometown after her LA boss decides to quit show business. She also cheerfully announces that Georgie has now time to do the “things she’d always wanted to do”. The problem is, Georgie is not quite sure what these things might be.
Help comes in a form of an old friend fiction notebook which becomes her guide and sort-of-but-not-really a bucket list. Her bff and the co-author of the notebook is heavily pregnant and can’t do it with her, but there’s Levi, Georgie’s very unexpected roommate…

I want Georgie to be my bff, guys. She was the most lovable, spontaneous and caring mess of a person, it was love at first sight. And Levi, the troubled soul? With his cold and aloof facade, that you call bs on immediately because of the way he loves his dog? I swear, this guy is exploding-ovaries level hot!

Then, Georgie’s parents! I want them to adopt me. Or better yet, I want to be that parent for my children. They were so easy-going, supportive, and accepting and always there for her, it was so comforting and wonderful🥹(You can go home now, Pinterest mamas. Don’t forget your homemade quinoa patties on your way out.)

The cherry on top is Hank the dog and his awkwardness-melting farts 🤡

I can’t wait for you guys to read this book!! Counting down till January 24!!

Thank you so much NetGalley and Kensington Books for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review, it was a treat!

I had heard nothing but rave reviews about Georgie. Those reviews were spot on. I adored this story of Levi and Georgie. Georgie returns home to reset after losing her job and to find out what she wants. Levi is staying at her parents house while his is getting some renovations and their accidental roommate situation gives them both a change to learn who they are together.

It's sweet. It's swoony. It's a little grumpy sunshine with lots of personal growth in a soft way that we crave from Clayborn. If you loved her previous two books, you are not going to be disappointed with this. For fans of The Bodyguard and maybe even Thank you for Listening.

4.5 stars! Georgie had my heart from the beginning, and I love her friendship with Bel, especially the fact that wrote a fic together in their teens.

I adore Hank, as he can do no wrong and all animals have a direct line to hit me in the feels. Levi is the perfect grumpy hero, and I'm here for it all. His conviction to make something of himself, even without the support of his family, will endear him to you til the end.

Overall, this was such a feel-good romcom, with some genuine heartfelt moments. I believe we'd all be a little bit better for having a wish list from our childhood that we could complete with a trusted friend!

This book was good, but I just didn’t get as emotionally invested in the main characters as I wished. It was well written, but a couple things confused me a bit. I don’t think the significance of Georgie’s “fic” was explained well enough in the very beginning. It wasn’t totally clear to me for quite some time that she was going to try to experience everything she’d planned in the notebook for high school in order to try and make sense of her life. Also, there’s so much talk about how Georgie’s known for going with the flow, never getting ruffled, solving whatever problem comes her way, but I didn’t see actual evidence of this at any point, especially when it came to her relationship with Levi. She seemed to get irrationally upset with him multiple times, even knowing the trauma in his past. In the end, even though the quality of the writing is good, it just didn’t come together for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing me access to this eARC for my honest opinion!

After spending last year devouring Kate Clayborn's backlist, it only makes sense that this should be my first read of the new year. Kate Clayborn has quickly cemented herself as an all-time favorite author of mine, and Georgie, All Along only further proves that she can do no wrong in my book. There's just something about her quiet, stern heroes that always makes me fall head over heels for them the same her heroines do.

I also related to Georgie a lot, and truly felt for her journey of trying to discover herself and what she wants only to realize that she's been focusing on the wrong thing all along. We put so much pressure on ourselves as a society in labeling our self-worth in being passionate about our jobs/careers, and reading about Georgie's journey felt both heartwarming and refreshing to read.

I love this book so much, and though I'm a little sad to be all out of Kate Clayborn books to read I'm also really excited to see what she comes up with next!
