Thank you so much to Kensington Books and NetGalley for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This was the first book I’ve read by Kate Clayborn and I absolutely loved it! Told from the perspectives of both Georgie and Levi, both are super likable characters whose backstories I was invested in right away. I loved their banter, their chemistry and how they brought out the best in each other.

If you, like me, love a good contemporary romance, pick this one up immediately. It was seriously so good I read it in two days and could not put it down. It will be the perfect cozy read to get you through the cold winter.

"Georgie, All Along" is a super cute story by the always amazing Kate Clayborn. It is a cute and very sweet story.

If you know and love Kate Clayborns stories, you will for sure love this novel by her as well. It is well written, and it is a sweet and beautiful story.

The main characters, Levi and Georgie, are great characters. They both have challenges, but they are willing to change and become better people for each other. I love their willingness and eager to be better people. Also, they are super sweet together, and make each other better people.

This is a book about relations as well. Relations between friends, lovers, and family. It is about challenges and difficulties within these realtions as well, and how to be better.

It is an easy read, and I finished it in very short time. It is a true page-turner. It is a low-paced book, but somehow a whole lot of things happens in this book as well. It id a good balance.

"Georgie, All Along" is a super cute, beautiful, romantic and sweet story by the great and talented Kate Clayborn.

After Love Lettering, I was looking forward to the next Kate Clayborn book. Thank you NetGalley for this sneak peek at Georgie, All Along.

Georgie, All Along was a romantic, sweet, insightful novel. Georgie returns home after several years away in California working as a personal assistant to a movie star . The day she returns to town she runs into the resident “misfit” from her high school years. And, while the plot is fairly predictable, it is the alternating narrators of Georgie and Levi - and their personal realizations - that move the book forward.

There is something compulsively readable about books by Kate Clayborn. I finished this book in a couple of days. There are a couple of very open door sex scenes, so don’t read the book if that bothers you. I actually felt like they contributed to the story in an effective way. Her characters are so relatable and likable. I found myself physically smiling throughout much of the book!

Looking forward to publication day!

This book is all kind of wonderful. Going in, I thought the story was going to be centered around Georgie, but it is Levi's story as much as Georgie's.
Georgie, All Along is a tender and heartfelt story that will take readers on the journey of Georgie on a new path when the life she knows abruptly changes, and she finds herself at odds with who she is and the dreams she had. And Levi. LEVI. Levi's life circumstances were heartbreaking. The way he's described as someone who tries to stay within a certain limit and always being on guard, not creating waves, making sure that no one ever reproaches him of anything, that really got to me. Seeing Levi and Georgie navigating their relationship, making mistakes, calling each other on them, and always providing the safe space they each need to be themselves. A real gem of a story.
I also loved the secondary characters! They all brought something to the story and enhanced it.
I love how the author kept the story real, if that makes sense? Not overly dramatic, with reactions and resolutions that felt real.
Favorite quote: “He’s tough because he’s never had a soft place to land.” I think this describes Levi perfectly.
I am happy for this book to be my last read of 2022. It certainly ended on a good note!

Thank you to the publisher and author for the ARC via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

This was a fun read. Georgie is a longtime personal assistant who returns home to small-town Virginia after her boss retires. She moves back into her parents house while they are away traveling but lo and behold, her kooky parents have also promised their space to one time town bad boy Levi who is having some significant repairs done on his house. The two agree to be temporary roommates. Meanwhile, Georgie is also helping her best friend Bell get ready for the birth of her first child. While doing so they uncover their "friend fic" from high school, in which they made up what they hoped to do and be. Feeling unmoored and unsure of herself, Georgie takes on the friend fic as a list and begins checking items off. After a few false starts, Levi joins in to help her and sparks start to fly. I enjoyed pieces of this book, but the writing style just wasn't for me and ultimately didn't pull me in. I'd still recommend it to anyone who enjoys a fun romance, but I likely won't personally return to this author.

Oh this may be my favorite book from Clayborn. With Georgie at crossroad with her life in California, she returns to her home town to help her BFF prepare for her pregnancy. Georgie hates the small town life and the memories of the people of her. She meets Levi and they develop a friendship and you can feel their attraction. I love their interactions and seeing their growth journey.
The banter and slow burn between Georgie and Levi is just chef's kiss. I adore the friendship between Bel and Georgie and how they have fun and uplift each other. This book is so heartwarming and fun.

Georgie Mulcahy had a hectic lifestyle as a personal assistant in Hollywood. That is until her boss decided to change her life. Although Georgie could have exactly the same job at the drop of a hat, Georgie decides against it and moves back home to the small town of Darentville.

Enroute to her parents’ house, Georgie stops at her best friend Bel’s new home. Georgie was supposed to help with organizing the unpacking and setup of the household furnishings. In the process, Georgie finds their old notebook from grade school. A notebook filled with Georgie and Bel’s hopes, dreams and aspirations. A notebook Georgie decides to read, reminice, and maybe fulfill.

But like everything else in Georgie’s life, things don’t always do as planned. Especially since there’s an unexpected guest at her parents’ home — Levi Fanning. Bad boy and brother of her high school crush, Evan Fanning.

Georgie, All Along is more than a romance novel. It is a novel of finding one’s self through acting on hopes and dreams that weren’t fulfilled. It is also a novel about the importance of family in the shaping of our lives. And how choices made determine the outcome of one’s life.

I didn’t quite like the characters of Levi and Georgie in the novel. They were a little depressing to me in that their childhood was anything but happy or rewarding. But I guess not everyone’s life is like a bed of roses. Aside from their childhood struggles, both Levi and Georgie managed to become successful on their own terms, i.e. Bad Boy and Bad Girl make good…

The pacing of the novel was slower than I liked. I almost gave up reading at the halfway point. But perseverance rewarded me with a heartfelt ending that redeemed the entirety of the novel. Four stars.

I received a digital ARC through NetGalley from Kensington Books who also sent me a physical copy. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. The characters were messy and flawed in a real life way. I loved the way their relationship unfolded. The characters are working through challenging things in a way that felt vulnerable and relatable. I’d definitely recommend if you enjoy grumpy / sunshine, small town dynamics.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The book's description is very thorough, so I'll just add that this is a sweet emotional journey full of laugh out loud moments and heart wrenching angst. Georgie was having a bit of an early mid-life crisis, which forced her to slow down and enjoy the little things in life. I loved that she revisited an old bucket list and how none of her experiences really turned out as she expected. Family relationships, best friends, and romance are all covered in a thoughtful way along with a healthy dose of self-discovery for the two main characters. Definitely an enjoyable and thought provoking read!

Georgie, All Along was an absolute delight to read. I enjoyed every minute of it and am longing to be back in Georgie and Levi’s world now that I’ve finished it.
Clayborn has written a romance novel filled with heart and charm, that’s funny, witty and curl your toes hot all at the same time. She has also written what is, in my opinion, the most realistic romance novel I’ve probably ever read. The passage of time in Georgie, All Along was really enjoyable. Kate makes it obvious that time has passed, that Georgie and Levi’s relationship has evolved off the page. By the climax of the book it’s not just been a couple of days or weeks, it’s been months. This helped me to connect to the characters and their relationship in a really deep, involved way.
Another utter joy was Clayborn’s use of differing POV’s. Both Georgie and Levi have such distinct voices that I could see each of them so clearly in my head, their mannerisms and behaviors so obviously them that I didn’t even need the indication of whose POV we were in at the beginning of the chapters.
On the same vein, Clayborn’s MC’s are to die for. Levi is the best example of the female gaze that I’ve ever seen. He’s SO HOT. Grumpy and sweet and trying so hard to learn and grow into a version of himself who isn’t defined by his mistakes. Levi checks all the boxes of the perfect fictional man, flaws and all.
And Georgie, wonderful, expansive, trying to find herself Georgie, who is a perfect, flawless cinnamon roll who can do no wrong in my eyes and deserves the world. I could read another 500 pages of her inner monologue and not get bored.
Basically, this book is perfection. I will read it again when I need comfort, when I need a book to wrap me in a warm hug and whisper sweet nothings into my ear. And you absolutely should too!

My HEART!! I cannot! Georgie and Levi are so adorable and lovely. Together and apart. They’re just so loveable and I just wanted to give them big hugs. The story really plays games with your heart strings in the best way 💞

Levi is one of my favorite MMC in the history of existence. There is just something about him that is swoon worthy and makes me want to give him a hug.

Georgie is interesting and her story and finding herself, or finding what she's good at interested me just as much as the love story itself which I LOVE!

There are some authors that I know are going to send me on an emotional journey. Sometimes it is a big, messy, sledge hammer to my feels. Sometimes it's a more subtle but no less intense creeping vine around my heart. That is the way hat Kate Clayborn writes. Her characters may seem calm and collected on the outside, but underneath there are depth of emotion that are threatening to overflow or choke them.
Small towns can be both beautiful and terrible. You know everyone. You know what to expect. But everyone decided who you were a very long time ago and they do not like to move you from the box they put you in. Once a troublemaker, always a troublemaker.
Both Georgie and Levi were boxed in by everyone during their teenage years. The years that are supposed to be about learning who you are in a bigger world had people deciding that neither them were going to amount to much. It can be hard to be the one without your whole life figured out at 18. When everyone else seems to know where they are going and who they will be. It can also be hard to be the one in a family where everyone is content to play the roles assigned to them that does not want to participate.
Georgie and Levi are both such beautifully imperfect people. I loved how deftly this author brings you into knowing them. I was able to see both of these characters with a clarity that is often not done. When Georgie finds that notebook, I knew exactly what she was looking for. Being too big for a small place and too much for people. Too much messy. Too much chaos.
All of the other characters are deftly drawn as well. I know these people. This makes a book so rich and deep.
This is a quieter story about learning who you are and letting go of whoever other people think you should be.
And it made me cry.

3.5 Stars Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn was a delightful story that was part romance and part journey of self discovery. After being let go from her job as a Hollywood assistant, Georgie Mulcahy has landed back in her hometown in Virginia, plant-sitting for her parents. Georgie is determined to use this time to figure out what she wants, something she long since forgot to consider after working for years to provide others with what they want. The only snag in her plan? Her parents forgot to let her know that the town hermit, Levi Fanning, would also be staying at their house while his house is being repaired. The black sheep of the wealthy and well-known Fanning family, Levi keeps to himself while trying to improve the reputation he tarnished as a troubled kid and rebellious teen. When Georgie discovers an artifact from her teen years, her “friend fic,” where she wrote fictional versions of how she wanted her life to go in high school, she decides to use the fic as a starting point to figuring out what she wants by fulfilling the things she never did, but wanted to do in high school. Levi is drawn to Georgie and decides to help her on her journey to complete her fic, and the more time he spends with Georgie, the more feelings grow on both parts.

The romance in this novel was spot on and just about perfect, but what really shone was Georgie’s and Levi’s journeys to self-discovery. For Georgie, it was figuring out that she doesn’t need to have it all figured out; she can know what she wants right now or in the short-term or long-term, but her wants can change and adapt as she does. Not having a plan or knowing what she wants from the future is no reason to stop living her life now. For Levi, he had to learn how to reconcile his past with what he wants his future to look like, including how to have Georgie at his side.

The novel was a bit slow to get into a first, especially with all of the internal monologues from both characters and the background information those monologues provided. Once the MCs were interacting more and on their respective journeys, both together and apart, the book started to pick up and it was easy to devour the story in one sitting.

I really really wanted to love this book. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Georgie, All Along…but maybe my anticipation for it set the bar too high. Maybe if I’d read it at a different time I would’ve been more invested and liked it more. The beginning just started off too slow for me and things didn’t really pick up until the last third of the book. I loved the premise, and the characters were enjoyable, I just wish it would’ve hooked me more from the beginning.

Georgie, All Along was one of the best romance books I read this year. So glad that I received the Advance Reader’s Copy from Netgalley. Thank you Netgalley and Kensington.

What a heartfelt book! Georgie Mulcahy just lost her job as a personal assistant to a Hollywood star and had to go back to her hometown. She grew up in a small town in Virginia. When she arrived, she discovered that her parents are off on a road trip. That’s when she met Levi.

I fell in love with these two characters. Georgie is so messy and also happy go lucky and Levi is so handsome but troubled. Georgie can be very funny and Levi is very grumpy but also a cinnamon roll so hard to ignore. In my opinion, their chemistry is top notch just like what I always wanted in every romance book. Good chemistry between the male and female lead makes the book much more interesting to read.

The author did a very incredible job in balancing the emotional moments with humor. The characters’ monologues always made me laugh. Georgie, especially. Levi on the other hand made me so emotional when the author slowly revealed about his past. I have this empathy towards him. I also loved the friendship between Georgie and Annabel. Not to forget the relationship between Levi and his rescue dog, Hank is the cutest.

There were sweet moments between these two main characters. They’re so adorable and also the steamy scenes were a slow burn between Georgie and Levi.

I thought that the writing was perfect for me. It was a beautiful book and I was hooked from the start. The ending was perfect. Highly recommended for readers who love romance books.

Kate Clayborn, why haven't I found your work by now?

I loved Georgie, All Along! The premise of a do-over from a middle school outlook is the perfect block for the building of this story! This book had me thinking what I would write in my fic. Maybe it's something to journal about.

The grumpy and sunshine trope is a trope I have fallen in love for. The Levi/Georgie relationship is the perfect mash up for great love story. Levi and Georgie bring the best out of each other and also makes each other to think about their actions and outlooks.

The pace of the book is medium pace and the books reads fluidly.

One of my favorite books for 2022!

I absolutely loved Georgie, All Along and highly recommend it. Kate Clayborn is such a beautiful writer, and completely sucks you in with her prose. For all of the Emily Henry and Lucy Score fans out there, Georgie, All Along is an absolute must for your 2023 TBR. Georgie, our protagonist, has just been laid off from her assistant job and is heading home for a few weeks to help her best friend and figure out what she wants to do next. She spends the time in her home town exploring what matters to her, revisiting home and all that entails, and has an hysterical Meet Cute that I won’t spoil but gives me one of my fave forced proximity moments. There is also an adorable dog, a grumpy MMC who has spent time in therapy (we. Love. To. see. it!), complicated family, a friendship that genuinely made me sob.

I immediately bought a physical copy of this book once I finished it so you know that means I loved it. I hope you read this book and enjoy it as much as I did!
