This book. *Insert all the heart eye emojis here* Kate Clayborn is a poetic genius. Her writing is beautiful, lyrical, and emotional. This sweet story was everything I was hoping for and more. It was a sheer pleasure to read.

This is the story of Georgie returning to her hometown in search of her purpose. She feels adrift and unsure of her future. She meets Levi, her high school crush's brother, who has a traumatic past that he's trying to avoid. When sparks fly between them, will they be able to work together to overcome past hurts?

Georgie was impulsive, fun, quick-on-her-feet, and full of life. Levi was reserved, considerate, and a little bit broken. They were perfect together. I loved that we got both points of view, especially as they dealt with their issues. There were also great supporting characters in this book. I especially loved Georgie's parents and Hank, the most adorable book dog.

This right here is why I read romance novels. I LOVE Kate Clayborn's writing. It brings out all the emotions in such a thoughtful way. Preorder this book, request it from your library, read it. You won't regret it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. It was totally my pleasure!

It's nice to get back towards the Feels from "Love Lettering" (although there's something about that book that's just hard to beat?), and I enjoyed this a lot. After "Love at First," I was worried.

I sympathized with Georgie still being remembered as a slacker who couldn't live up to her potential. She was able to shed that label when she moved to L.A. (even if it was just to be a star's assistant who lived stuck to her phone and laptop, hidden in hotels and movie trailers), only to have it snap back into place when she rolled into her hometown of Darentville, Virginia, in a beat-up Prius filled with garbage bags of her stuff, wearing insanely-wrinkled clothing. Most of us have gotten into good gigs, that even looked like sure bets, that fell out from under us so we had to go home and regroup.

That Levi Manning is a similar lost soul--trying to make a life in a town that has already decided who you are and therefore will always be--makes them the perfect couple.

I ALSO related to having a journal that 1) I completely forgot about, and 2) wasn't written for the reason I thought it was.

The building of the characters and the town are wonderful. I was here for the writing as much as the romance. It's great when you enjoy a book for being a STORY, and not just because it's a romance. Highly recommended.

Oh, how I loved this book!

Georgie Mulcahy has lived a life filled with love and acceptance. Her free-spirited parents loved her unconditionally, but unfortunately, that meant they didn't give her a whole lot of guidance. She's still finding her place in the world.

Levi, Fanning, on the other hand, had a successful businessman for a father who had rigid expectations for his children and an uninterested mother. Levi never fit his father's mold, so he rebelled against them. He's changed his ways, and become a successful business owner himself, but he still doesn't quite fit in.

They're both square pegs trying to fit into society's round holes - on different ends of the spectrum. And, yet, somehow they fit perfectly together. That's not to say there's no disagreements or misunderstandings, but somehow they always come back together.

I love Kate Clayborn's writing and how many of her male characters have a vulnerable side to them. Reid from Love Lettering is one of my favorites. But, Levi Fanning? Oh, be still my heart!

Oh, and how can I forget Hank, Levi's pit bull? I think he's my favorite of all of Kate Clayborn's male characters! So tough on the outside, but such a squishy heart inside!

Thank you Kensington Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a digital ARC in return for an honest review.

GEORGIE ALL ALONG is a great story full of character, love, friendship, family, laugh and cry and everything in between. Georgie and Levi are two wonderful, messy, wounded souls trying to find their place I in life. She is funny, a bit chaotic and charming but insecure of herself. He is grumpy, antisocial but trying to keep his life quiet and simple. They fall in love even with their differences. But can they have a future together without facing their dreams, their demons and their past? A really charming and heartwarming story

This took a little while to grow on me, but I ended up really enjoying it. Georgie and Levi are wonderfully complex characters who really go through the ringer in coming to terms with their own issues. Georgie is struggling to figure out what she wants to do with her life after losing her glitzy LA personal assistant job and moving back to her hometown. She turns back to a high-school diary she kept with her best friend for inspiration about how to get her life back on track, but slowly realizes that she can't recreate the past and that maybe her life isn't off track at all.

Levi -- the older brother of Georgie's high school crush and black sheep of his family -- serves as an excellent foil to Georgie's quirky and whimsical personality. I like that Clayborn provides his POV in alternating chapters, as there is a lot going on beneath the surface. He has turned his life around after acting out as a teen/young adult and getting into serious trouble, but is so afraid to step out of line that he purposefully keeps up barriers between him and others. His struggles of avoiding his beloved younger brother and sister in their small town after their father disowned him are really heartbreaking, especially since we get to see his siblings' perspectives through Georgie's chapters, as well.

Overall, I liked that this story leans into the messiness of all the characters. Even Georgie's best friend who seems to have the perfect life ends up realizing that she's living someone else's dream, not her own. Ultimately, the characters learn to appreciate the small moments in life and value the connections with the people around them, which was a surprisingly comforting theme and a nice change of pace.

Kate Clayborn never misses. I loved seeing the moving back to your small town romance play out this way and the balance between Georgie and Bel's arcs. Levi was a delight and I loved how things turned out with his family. Wonderful side characters, particularly Georgie's parents. Sweet, great tropes, enjoyable and well paced romance.

Kate Clayborn strikes gold with her new novel Georgie, All Along.

This book stole my heart and will not give it back. First of all, Georgie Mulcahey is about the most loveable, messy small-town girl ever. Her chatty presence and quick wit draw you in, but her thoughtfulness and loving heart make you stay. Then there's Levi Fanning. His troubled past and reserved personality make him hard to understand at first, but the more you get to know him, the more you fall head-over-heels for him. With great supporting characters like Bel, Evan, and Olivia, this community is sure to rope you in.

The beauty of this book is that while the characters find each other, they also find themselves. They learn to love their unique identities so that they can love each other and give 110%. Between completing Georgie's fic list and walking Hank around Levi's secluded home, there's an even mix of action and serenity that is completely and utterly satisfying.

Pros: This is the first Kate Clayborn book I’ve read, but I’ve been wanting to read her because Anne Bogel has raved about her books. I can see why—this contemporary romance was a fun read. I look forward to reading the author’s backlist now that I’ve read her newest book.

Cons: None really—I think this book does exactly what it set out to do and will be enjoyed by readers who love contemporary romances. Three stars = I liked this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read this book.

I am a fan of Clayborn's, so when this became available to request, I jumped at the opportunity. That and a friend had read it and absolutely loved it and knew I'd love it too and she was not wrong.

I love reading a book where the two MCs find acceptance from each other and help each other figure themselves out. Georgie's just lost her job and she's trying to figure out what's next in life. She feels lost and does what many of us do, compares herself to friends who seemingly have their lives together. Levi has a bad reputation around town. It's an old reputation and he's done a lot to get away from it, but it still lingers. They accept each other as is.

This book checked a lot of boxes for me. Grumpy/Sunshine, check. Pining, check. Swoonage, check. Funny, check. Dual POV, check. Loveable canine companion, also check.

Overall, Georgie, All Along is one of the best books I've read this year. It's the kind of book that leaves your heart full and a smile on your face when you're done reading it.

Thank you to Kensington Boks and NetGalley. I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.
5 Stars (Would give more if I could)

Charming. Utterly charming. I’ve loved all the books I’ve read by Kate Clayborn, but this is my new favorite. Everything about it was fabulous. It was so fabulous that I had a hard time organizing my thoughts. I had to break it down a bit, so that’s how I’m giving it to you here.

THE WRITING:
If you have read a book by Clayborn before, you know how magical her writing is. It grabs you in the very first paragraph and never lets go. That’s how this book was. I read it in one day because I didn’t want to put it down. The story was somehow light and fluffy but also a little darker and emotional. The combination was perfect. It was written in dual POV, so I got to know what was going on in both Georgie’s and Levi’s heads. I’m so happy Clayborn gave us both points of view.

THE SETTING:
This little town in Virigina came to life through Clayborn’s words. I could easily imagine Georgie’s parent’s house, the docks, the water, the corner store, the restaurant. Everything was so vivid the setting felt like a character itself.

THE CHARACTERS:
I loved Georgie and Levi so much! Georgie had been successful in a way no one thought she would be, but still doubted herself. Levi had risen above a disgraceful and painful past. Neither of them was truly content. They both had some big insecurities from growing up in a small town. Their experiences were vastly different but with a similar outcome. I loved how they figured out stuff together.

As for side characters, the most important was Hank. Hank the sweetest dog ever and the scenes with him in it were some of my favorites. Levi’s relationship with his dog was adorable. The rest of the side characters were good, too. I loved Georgie’s relationship with her parents and her best friend, Bel. The townspeople added a lot to the story as well.

THE ROMANCE:
It was so swoony! The chemistry between Georgie and Levi was palpable from their second interaction. I loved feeling it build and grow as they got to know each other better. One of my favorite things about this book were some of the emotional connections these two shared. They could relate to each other in ways I don’t come across many times in romance novels. I loved how they quickly built a strong foundation for a relationship despite being thrown into unwanted close proximity. Some of my favorite moments were with them fulfilling Georgie’s teenage dreams.

OTHER THOUGHTS???
I don’t really know what else to say. There were so many great things, but I feel like giving you all of them would take away the fun of reading this book. And I REALLY want you to read it!

Thoughts :

- Levi was full of guilt, self-loathing, and regret. He reminds me of Lucifer Morningstar from the tv-show Lucifer.

- Hank. You are epic!

- The author could have made Georgie's chaotic nature a bit more interesting.

- The reason given in the book about both siblings not patching things up with Levi seemed kinda flat to me. It might just be me though.

- Some of the words need to be changed. Because even though the author has written them in positive aspects, they end up coming off as negative. I don't know if it only seems like that to me or not.

- I like how Bel and Georgie's relationship was portrayed. It's hard to find any book containing friendship like this. So supportive. The feelings Georgie felt towards Bel seemed understandable to me. The moment they shared before Bel was about to give birth was beautiful.

This was such a sweet story. I loved Georgie and her return to her childhood town. Her relationship with Levi was heartwarming. I loved the uniqueness of Levi’s past, how it affected his present, and how he worked through the issues he had and his relationship with Georgie as a result. I felt at times that the explanations of everyone’s feelings got to be a bit long and repetitive. I found myself skimming at the end because I felt like I had read what needed to be read. Overall though I loved this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Georgie, All Along was a case of right book at the perfect time for me. Initially, I had my reservations, but those were gone after the first few chapters and from there on, I was unreservedly in love with the book.

The story follows Georgie who, on being let go from her current job of personal assistant when her boss decides to pack it all in, returns home to try figure out what to do next. Having taken her parents up on their suggestion of housesitting, she is surprised to discover that she’s not the only person who they extended that offer to: the black sheep older brother of her high school crush has also been lined up for it.

I read this book twice before sitting down to review it because the first time I read it so feverishly I needed the second read to actually take it all in and write this review. I’m still not sure I actually managed that, but we’ll see how it goes.

I have had, it would be fair to say, a mixed bag with Kate Clayborn’s romances. I enjoyed Love Lettering a lot, along with Missing Christmas. I got on less well with Love at First, although I still liked it. So, going into Georgie, I knew I would, at the very least, like it. And, hit with a rocky first few pages, I thought that might be all. Thankfully, the feeling passed and I ended up with a novel that I wholeheartedly adored in every aspect.

Of course, I’m of the opinion that, to enjoy a romance novel, you first have to enjoy the characters individually before you might enjoy them together. Georgie and Levi are two characters who I loved from the first few pages of their chapters, who I knew that I would love watching navigate their lives and get together. And their romance was written with such attention to how they as characters would act. I feel like a lot of romances, especially those which lean heavily into tropes (not the case here, although there’s no inherent problem with it, of course), tend to let the proposed plot direct the characters, regardless of whether it tracks with their characterisation. That’s not the case here. Here, what happens depends very much on what Georgie and Levi would do.

And that also meant I didn’t even mind the third act break-up/relationship hurdle when it came (although, it was very obvious what it would end up being). Because it made total sense when it came to the characters’ established thoughts and behaviours. Also, it wasn’t made into some enormous, relationship-shattering thing (and, more importantly, it didn’t feel like it should be one. A criticism I have levied at some third act break-ups before). It was something that you could see them working past together. Really, it’s a third act hurdle that I actually liked, which I don’t say too often.

I think what it illustrates is that this is a book about two characters who, on a fundamental level, get each other. That’s why you can believe that their relationship will work beyond the confines of the book, why the third act break-up doesn’t feel like a disastrous relationship-ending event. And also why you’re so invested in their love story. They may never say it on page, but the entire book feels like an “oh, it’s you” moment.

Really, what I’m trying to get across is that this is a book you really need to have on your radar. Like, if you consider yourself a romance fan of any description, it needs to be there. You really, truly, don’t want to miss out.

And I suppose all I can do now is try to stave off the desire to read for a third time in three weeks.

You say Kate Clayborn and I will come a running.

I was so thrilled to receive this arc from NetGalley and Kensington Books in exchange for an honest opinion.

I loved so much about this, it wasn’t Love Lettering but it was quintessential Clayborn, I have read all of her titles and they are just enjoyable, escapable, and devour-able.

Kate speaks my love language.

Usually the female MC is the hero but I have to say Levi our MMC was the star, that rugged charm, reformed bad boy, SWOON.

This is a dual POV, grumpy x sunshine, close proximity, making this such a palatable romance.

Lots of character growth, quirky parents, fun meet cute and laugh out loud realism are quintessential Clayborn, I will read anything she writes.

My only gripes, Georgie deserved more self fulfilment and maybe a teeny bit more steam.

This is my first time reading from Kate Clayborn and I got to say it was a very good and promising way to start.

I did have a little bit of a problem getting into the story and clicking with the characters and their dynamic at the beginning of the story but once I hit a certain point it was hard to stop. I really like the love story here but even more so I like the way Georgie and Levi have their own personal journey that they needed to go on before they're able to fully come together. Georgie who question her future and her next steps in life while Levi needed to look back to be able to move forward. I've always love romance that explore more than just the romance aspect of the characters and Clayton explored that wonderfully here.

I would definitely be looking into her backlog after this and looking forward to what she'll be putting out next.

This book was raw and real. I enjoyed Georgie as the MC and felt like I began to really understand her. This simple was just a very good read.

4/5 ⭐

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

This is my first Kate Clayborn book and I can't believe I've waited this long! Georgie All Along was so heartfelt, complex, and messy. I loved how deep and real the character are, and how the author wasn't afraid to give them truly difficult issues.
This is a slow burn romance with some steamy scenes. Literally the only thing I wanted more from the story was more interaction between Cal and Levi- whether that be a resolution or even just a conversation. There was so much tension in the restaurant scene, I wanted some sort of interaction. That's just me, though. Otherwise I loved everything about it!

This was a very cute read with fun characters and a very engaging storyline. I would highly recommend it to anyone who would want to get out of the reading slump because this was so much fun!
