I love all of Kate Clayborn’s writing! This hero was steamy, as was the small town setting! Georgie wa super endearing as well and the secondary characters were charming. Thanks Neg Galley!

I loved it.
Look, let's be real. Georgie, the titular heroine, has a good life. She's bright & funny, has great parents (they're the best)(also, total scene stealers), an amazing best friend, a soft landing (money and a place to stay) after the end of a job she enjoyed, and time. Time to figure out if she is living her Best Life. Georgie isn't sure. She wasn't a star student and sort of fell into working in the entertainment industry as a much needed/reliable personal assistant. But now that she's no longer working and helping someone else live their best life, she's...Lost? Confused?
A return home gives Georgie time to think - time to figure out what she should be doing. Hey, Georgie. Welcome to my life. Ha. Moving on. Fortunately for Georgie, best friend Annabel (Bel) has moved back home, too, and she needs help getting ready for the arrival of her first baby. Bel is living the high life - successful career, handsome & loving husband, amazing house...Well, that's what Georgie believes.
Seeing Bel only reinforces how lost she feels about her own life (and maybe blinds her to the fact that we all struggle to find our way). Fortunately, after a catch up with Bel (in a house already pretty sorted), they unexpectedly/fortuitously discover a fictional journal (friendfic! I LOVE IT) the girls shared when they were in school. After a quick flip thru of its pages, Georgie decides the journal MIGHT be a way to navigate her way forward. Younger Georgie knew who (Evan Fanning. Big time.) and what she wanted...maybe older Georgie can use the friendfic to find her way.
Shortly after her visit with Bel, things go off the rails just a bit.
Georgie, super chill and living her best life in a tank top, colorful robe, and undies, is relaxing in her parents empty house (they're on a road trip) re-reading the friendfic when she's surprised by someone using a key to enter the house. Um, creepy! She's frightened until she peeks through the door to see who it is. And the stranger/visitor has a familiar face...it's Evan! Nope, it's Levi - Evan's older - super messed up (according to rumors) older brother.
Georgie belatedly recognizes him from an earlier awkward sighting at the local grocery, but her misidentification seems to anger Levi. And he doesn't look thrilled to find her in the house. Oops! The pair square up as surprised adversaries in the messy Mulcahy living room (strewn with Georgie's belongings) until they each explain - sort of - how they both ended up at the house. Friends, it's painful to witness. She's barely dressed, he's embarrassed, shy, and clearly flustered, and his adorable dog Hank is having a field day with her underwear... but eventually - because this is a Clayborn story and people do nice normal things in her stories - Georgie suggests Levi go ahead and stay the night, and he surprises himself by agreeing. Fist pump. I AM FEELING THESE TWO. For real.
Oh friends, WHO IS LEVI??? WHY IS HE SO FLUSTERED? AND HOT?? AND MESSED UP???!
Newsflash: Not going to tell you.
Well, I'll tell you this much: Levi IS a mess, but he's also good and kind and a business owner and a great dog dad and also sad and defeated and...well, he's a Clayborn hero so he's also all sorts of amazing and sexy and romantic and struggling to get his shit together and be the man we demand Georgie find on her journey to finding herself. He's excellently realized (I think I cried reading his story!) - but so is she, and TOGETHER they find themselves and each other. And ALL ALONG (see what I did there?), we're rooting for these two to figure their shit out and fall in love. And also, sort of thinking Bel is too too perfect and so is her husband Harry, but no worries, that gets sorted too.
This story felt tonally closer to the Luck of the Draw series vs. Kate's newer books & I was here for it. I loved the friendships and the smallish town that felt familiar (it should - it's a fictionalized Virginia; aka the state I grew up in), the secondary characters, the perfectly paced romance, the steam level, the BIG ROMANTIC GESTURE/SCENE AT THE END THAT IS FREAKING AMAZING, the exquisitely rendered love scenes and not weird and awkward incorporation of consent and affirmation, the villain sort of getting his comeuppance, and...oh, man. ALL OF IT, FOLKS.
I loved all of it. This is a whole big book of LOVING and FINDING YOURSELF and I AM HERE FOR IT.
KC is The Best in contemporary romance right now. I'm currently audio binge-ing her back catalog and I suggest you do it, too.
5 stars. Maybe my favorite this year?

Georgie is not excited about being back in her small hometown. Years earlier, she escaped for a seemingly glamorous life in LA, as personal assistant to a famous screenwriter. But now everything is in upheaval: her job, her personal life, and her friendships. Home seems like the only option. When she uncovers a "friendfic" journal that she kept with her childhood best friend, describing all the wild adventures they would have together in high school. At loose ends, Georgie decides to actually do some of the things she described in such joyous detail. Along for the ride is Levi, onetime town bad boy and unexpected summer roommate, and older brother of Georgie's high school crush.
What a sweet book. I loved Georgie, Levi, and all the characters around them, including Georgie's eccentric hippie parents and her stalwart best friend.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

I absolutely ADORED this book. I've read quite a few by Kate Clayborn and I'm sad to say I didn't particularly love her last release..... but this book. Georgie. Levi. Bel. Harry, even Hank.... I CANNOT. They are all so perfectly imperfect and I could not have loved them more. This was truly one of those books that I started slowing down my progress as I neared the end, because I was just too sad that it was over.
Georgie is someone I can relate to on so many levels - the way she is searching for her place in life, that big defining moment, that a-ha... but she learns that it's the little things in the in between that can mean the most. And Levi - oh, good grief. He is just the sweetest most gentle giant there ever was. My only complaint was that he didn't verbalize all those wonderfully sweet and romantic thoughts he had about Georgie (SWOON). This is book of Clayborn's felt very fresh and sassy, and had me all in my feels. I laughed, I cried, and I probably fell in love a little bit too. I felt like I was reading the real-est version of Kate Clayborn - and it was so, so good. Well done!
Order it, pre-order it. Read it. Read it again. And then we can discuss. Because this is the kind of book that deserves discussion. ;-)
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books, Kensington for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is our first modern contemporary review and boy did we pick one! Georgie All Along by Kate Clayborn is outstanding!
Georgie returns home to small town VA from LA after being laid off (mid pandemic it appears) to help her best friend who is expecting and house sit for her parents. From the outset it’s clear Georgie was happy to leave and isn’t thrilled about her return. Levi 🥵, her HS crush’s older brother, used to be “trouble”, and due to a miscommunication is ALSO housesitting for Georgie’s parents.
Georgie and her BFF find a fic they wrote as young teenagers and Georgie decides to make all those adventures happen now, with some help from a great group of people.
This book has pining, brooding, finding yourself, forced proximity, high school hi jinx, familial reconciliation, forgiveness, and is WILDLY ROMANTIC. It was very moving. It’s also super 🌶! Time for a reread of some other Kate Clayborn books!

Clayborn charms with another sweet romance. Georgie (white nonspecified) was a competent assistant but after being let go by her most recent boss, she ends up in her hometown, ostensibly to help her best friend’s pregnancy, but also to reflect on her life. She ends up having a surprising roommate (white nonspecified) l, just as she is rereading her fictional imaginings from high school. The book was more realistic than I wanted but still satisfying.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC. Georgie, All Along started a little bit slowly for me, but picked up quickly when Levi entered the picture. This is typical Kate Clayborn, with a shy, maybe misunderstood, but very sweet love interest (my only complaint is I didn't like the way Clayborne portrayed his speaking/thinking accent). I really enjoyed reading about Georgie’s journey to accepting her life as is.

Such a cute book! I loved the main character and the plot of this novel. I am an avid reader of romance novels and I found this one to be unique and enjoyable, whereas many romance novels follow some of the same tropes and plot points. Great book!

Thanks to Netgalley, (Publisher and Author) for this ARC in exchange of my honest review ..

I loved this book! Immediately from page one, I was hooked and in love with the heroine! I read this book in one sitting. I love a sexy and brooding hero and Levi was the perfect one!
The connection these two characters formed and the build up of their relationship was fantastic. Def worth a read!! Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this beautiful ARC!

This book is a warm, chaotic hug on a summer night. That sentence may not make much sense but it definitely fits with the feelings this book brings up!
Levi and Georgie both had some serious self-image issues and soul-searching to tackle but the journey was a wonderful one. Painful, but also full of so much hope. I really enjoyed that Levi didn't try to change Georgie and she didn't try to change him, either. As someone who shares a lot in common with Georgie's over-the-top chaotic personality I really appreciated that representation and acceptance! :)

Thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley for this excerpt!
I can't wait to read the rest of this book... Clayborn is unparalleled on the line level in this genre. Already falling in love with the characters here.
***
A few days later, the full manuscript arrived! Once again, Clayborn proves she is one of the best in the biz. I LOVE her writing. This book is so tender and raw. Great emotional development with both characters. I laughed, I cried! Highly recommend!

The first few chapters of Georgie, All Along introduces a young woman searching for her purpose after leaving a deadbeat job behind - a daunting endeavor we can identify and empathize with to the core. The intro of Georgie's story is one of new beginnings and the weight of wondering where to start in a fresh chapter in life that is at once terrifying and exciting with its plethora of possibilities. This is a story of returning to old roots in order to reignite the spark and lust for life that is easily summoned in our youth but just as easily turns stale in the face of the reality and responsibility of adulthood.
Highly recommended for lovers of Emily Henry, and anyone who has a soft spot for flawed main characters who have a heart of gold and strong sense of self-agency, as well as swoon-worthy love interests.
Really looking forward to seeing how the rest of Georgie's story unravels.

Please, please, please can you give us more than one chapter? I literally gasped out loud when I came to the end of the preview!

It starts out great! I’m curious to find out what will happen next. Georgie is a very relatable character and since Evan has only muttered a few words I’m unsatisfied!

This is from the email I sent to Kate's team after I finished reading this book. To say I am in love with it is such an offensive understatement, it's ridiculous. "I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK. I love this book to the marrow of every bone, my GOD. THIS is the book. I call it now. If this book doesn't blow up everywhere, I'm gonna light something on fire (probably, like, a candle or maybe just a match held over the sink because I'm a nice kid and don't condone property damage)." You see, I am not joking or passing along inflated praise. I really think this is KC's breakout novel and I am so SO excited for readers everywhere to get their hands on it.
And here is our official blurb:
Outright perfection! With every new Kate Clayborn novel, I think, ‘This. It cannot possibly get better than this.’ And then Georgie comes along and blows every other book out of the water. It is rare to fall in love with characters at the same pace and to the same depth that they do on the page, but Clayborn’s writing is so immersive, so exuberant, it’s a truly multisensory experience. A classic author writing in the modern age, Clayborn is in a league entirely her own. And Georgie, All Along is her best yet.

To be honest, my download of "Georgie, All Along" was incomplete; it stopped abruptly after Chapter 3. I feel like this was probably an unintentional NetGalley issue, but at the end point I was hooked. (Conveniantly, this sudden stop also felt like a honest-to-god romantic comedy cliffhanger. Anyway, the first three chapters laid out the premise--live in the moment, non-planner Georgie finds herself going back home after being laid off from her job as a personal assistant in Hollywood. Georgie is aimless, but relatable. She discovers some of her teenage writing and, instead of being horrified, is inspired to get out and live life again. Overall, solid opening to a book that seemed to have a lot going for it.

I really enjoyed reading the beginning of this novel and I cannot wait for the rest!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Really fun start and I can’t wait to read the whole book. I love that friendship is central to the story and the idea of not knowing where you fit in when your friends lives change.

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Kensington Books and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
A truly delightful read, I throughly enjoyed.
