Fun sleeping beauty story with a twist. It's nice when a book explores philosophy of the era and how it changed with study and investigation. This has lots of interesting twists and turns.
This book is amazing! Anekka Walker gets better with every book she writes, and I didn't know she could improve. The tension that builds in this story of lies, romance and redemption, is absolutely riveting. When you finally get what you want the relief is exquisite. I loved this book.
In this Snow White story you're introduced to Tansy and her three aunts who decide to travel to Rose Cottage, the place where Tansy's mother lived. Thinking her aunt's would tell her more about her own history, she was mistaken as they guard long-held secrets, bound by their promise to her mother. They stumble upon the Duke of Westmorland's brother Marcus when Tansy goes missing after getting lost in the woods after a disturbing dream. He is searching for his own answers in philosophy to explain his own nightmares and thinks Tansy could be the key. As their friendship grows, she learns to trust again, but unaccepted as her family is by society for all their quirkiness, she doesn't trust to hope.
If you enjoy mysterious, magical fairy tales, you'll enjoy this one.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
A love story AND a fairy tale retelling all in one. I like both of the main characters. They both actively try to figure out their curses and save themselves. An interesting retelling of an old fairy tale.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
Honestly not my favorite. I had high hopes but the story was a little too unbelievable and a bit convoluted. The characters didn’t have enough depth to them and it was kind of messed up overall.
