This is my 2nd book by Sue Moorcroft. I really like that it paints such a good cozy Christmas vibe perfect for the upcoming season. I love that the book also made its stand on being eco friendly and green in line with climate emergency. It was certainly an emotional roller coaster reading through the challenges the characters faced. At some point I felt it is just a bit long at the end perhaps read to me like a diary, it might be just me though. Thank you Sue Moorcroft and Avon for the advanced review copy.

This was such an entertaining read. I just whizzed through it enjoying the descriptions of the village, Christmas decorations and all the characters. A great festive read.

This was a lovely story. Throughly enjoyed reading about Sky and Winter Street. After falling out with her foster brother, Sky moves back to the last place she felt happy,a small village where she was fostered in her teens. Set against a Chrustmas light contest we watch Sky let down some barriers and start to deal with her childhood trauma. The characters are well developed and believed and I felt really invested in their stories. Perfect for a cold night

A wonderfully festive read full of Christmas spirit. A great set of characters dealing with family issues, work relationships and friendships. A really warm feeling and the perfect book to curl up with whilst it's snowing outside and you have a log fire burning and a cup of hot chocolate by your side.

This is a lovely story from Sue Moorcroft.

It centres around Sky, who works for a company that buys properties for clients to develop, with Freddy who she was fostered with when she was younger. When there are misunderstandings and clashes with Freddy and his fiancé Minnie, Sky decides 3 is a crowd and leaves the firm. When a property comes up for sale in Middledip, where she spent the happiest years of her life with foster carer Hannah, she sees this as a sign to restart her life.

This is lovely Christmas read.

What a feel-good, festive story! Seeing a character come from a rough start and find their way is so inspiring and I think it instills hope in the reader that no matter what happens, things can be better!

This story is filled with so much heart and love, and being back in Middledip was so great! It was really great seeing cameos of past characters and meet some new!

I love the cast of characters found in this one and it such a great blend of personalities! Seeing a community come together like this makes me hopeful for the future of the world. *SPOILER* I love that Sky gets to meet her father and she reconnects with her mom. While they may not have a great history as their base, they have made a start to heal past wounds.

Head on over to Middledip and spread some holiday cheer with this lovely story!!!!

A White Christmas on Winter Street by Sue Moorecroft is my last Christmas book of 2022 and it has tied my festive reading off perfectly.
This novel is a standalone although previous novels by this author have also been set in this picture postcard village of Middledip, on our return we now meet Sky whose career as a property developer has taken a swift unexpected turn and she finds herself back in her childhood village after purchasing a home she is desperate to renovate herself.
There is a vast amount of supporting characters whose storylines are weaved around Sky’s to bring all the characters together and to help and support each other as we typically see in a village with its welcome ( and sometimes unwelcome ) community spirit. There is a blossoming romance that faces some bumps along the road but it made it feel a more genuine relationship that has its battles to face as two people really get to know each other. We have the sweet natured Wilf too who is a key character who is facing a big change in his family dynamic but having Sky and Daz to help him with various distractions was just what he needed.
There were a number of challenging situations that the author has tackled in this novel and she has done this with such care but at the same time has shown honest and true reactions to each situation rather than making everything rosy.
There is a wonderful Christmas feel with the book being set on the lead up to Christmas and over the festive period too so we had the perfect back drop with a snowy setting and Christmas decorating as well as a Christmas pulled together so nobody was alone.
A White Christmas on Winter Street is a definite recommendation from me if you are looking for a full on Christmas feel good read that tackles real life situation and struggles too.

While the book was a bit predictable, it did have enough of a decent storyline that filled the gaps with characters that you got into. A good book for reading over the holiday period.

Middledip is a beautiful village captured in the imagination of Sue Moorcroft, and has featured in a few of her wonderful books. It’s also the perfect setting for Christmas and snow, and A White Christmas on Winter Street will give you full on Christmassy vibes throughout. Although the location is a familiar one, this book works perfectly as a standalone.

As a character 39 year old Sky Terran has had a troubled upbringing, and, estranged from her mother for many years, considers herself to have no family except her foster brother Freddy, who she met when they were both fostered in Middledip in their teenage years. Working with Freddy in property development, situations at work come to an impasse where Sky resigns and ends up living in Middledip again.

Pretty much as soon as Sky moves into Winter Street she is caught up in the Christmas street decorating competition, so not only does she have to clear her overgrown garden, she needs to decorate it with many, many Christmas lights. This competition and the way in which the people who lived in the street rallied round to help one another made this just so perfectly festive. Add a little snow and some animal footprints, and it couldn’t be more festive!

The love interest in this story, Daz was such a lovely man, determined to stay single and helping his best friend’s family as they adjusted to life in the village. Wilf was such an adorable 11 year old, inquisitive and enthusiastic, and as he found solace in hanging out with Daz, he was also drawn to hanging out with Sky because she was able to empathise with him in a way no one else could.

Sky was really ecologically sensitive, which, with a name like Sky Terran, is no surprise. I loved that her focus was in improving the landscape for both the villagers and the wildlife, and the way in which she made changes to her surroundings that would help. I think life would be much better if we all took a leaf out of her book.

Christmas, when it arrived, was unconventional but at the same time with a strong traditional vibe to it, and the snow just made it extra Christmassy.

A White Christmas on Winter Street is a perfect festive read, filled with warmth, community, and a little friendly competition!

It is absolutely perfect to think of settling down with a Sue Moorcroft novel and one set near Christmas is the icing on the top! Middledip is a great place to return to and although this is a standalone story, there are some familiar aspects for readers who have visited it before. Sky is such an interesting character, with vulnerabilities and strengths in equal measure. Because of her upbringing, she is extremely unsure of how she relates to people and has tended to shy away from friendships as a self- protection reflex. Her relationships with significant people in her life can be hard for her but what shines through is her empathy for other people. Her friendship with Courtenay and Wilf is a case in point.

Full of warmth and hope, I loved every moment of the story. It sparkles with all the snow and festive touches and the romance is gorgeous too, even if everything does not always go smoothly. There are some serious issues within the story which gives it some depth. I enjoyed Sky's love of all things nature and of course the ways in which she tries to conserve resources. The winter walk in the snow when she meets Wilf and Daz is a delightful touch as she points out all the animal tracks to the young boy. In all, one of my favourite festive stories, so far!

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a return visit to the village where everybody knows your name (and your past!).Get your tinsel crown on and heat up the milk for your hot chocolate it’s time to cosy up with a good book.
Sky Terran returns to Middledip after her fallout with her ‘brother by foster-care’ results in her quitting the job on the property company they built together. Smarting from his coldness since his engagement she decides to focus her attention on the house on Winter Street and moves in just before Christmas. Immediately she is pounced on by the committee organising the light-up of the street for the Annual Christmas Lights Competition. She is surprised to find new friends in the village and it looks like it might be a not such a bad time to focus on making a home for herself. Life in Middledip is certainly not going to be dull!
Sue Moorcroft combines a little bit of Christmas magic, romance and some social concerns to make a very enjoyable read. All the elements are there to make you feel like Christmas is just around the corner. It’s not about the presents but your presence and you’ll want to be there.

Lovely Christmas story, recommended feel good read.

I love Sue Moorcroft’s books, they are always such a treat – warm and welcoming. So I was really looking forward to reading her latest release – A White Christmas on Winter Street. This is a standalone, though regular readers of her work will recognise the setting of Middledip.
The star of this story is Sky Terran, who is 39 years old. After resigning from her job, she goes to the house auction she’d planned to attend and ends up buying herself The Corner House on Winter Street in Middledip, the village she used to live in. But will this be the new start she so needs? When she meets Darragh ‘Daz’ Moran (42), initially it’s awkward as he lost out on buying the house to her, but later their friendship begins to grow. But is he really over his ex Abi?
You feel sorry for Sky straight away. She’s not had an easy childhood and the start of the book sees her having a hard time too, so you hope she has an easier time of things and gets the happy ending she deserves. She’s very much the star player, but there are a host of other characters to get to know. Daz is mates with Ismael and Vern. Since Daz’s friend Lewis is in prison for fraud, Daz looks out for Wilf (11) and his mum Courtney. I loved the relationship between Daz and Wilf, as the young lad seeks a father figure in his life.
Sky really hopes to make friends now she is back living in a village. When a neighbour called Jess tells her about the Cambridgeshire Christmas Street Competition, Sky agrees to join in, but being as environmentally friendly as possible. Another neighbour Marietta introduces herself shortly after, so things look optimistic for Sky in her quest for friendship.
I love Sue Moorcroft’s novels because they have a great setting and a fabulous sense of community. I love a village with its own ambience and how everyone fits in. I also love the Christmas backdrop to the novel and enjoyed seeing how the festivities brought out the decorations and lights around Middledip. Overall, a really lovely read!

I loved the story but have to admit that part way through Sky suddenly started to annoy me when she was jumping to the wrong conclusions and not allowing Daz to explain but I think that is just how I felt on the day, certainly not Sue's story telling

I love books based in cosy villages with plots focusing on the dynamics of family and friendships. So this festive story was just perfect for me. Gentle heartwarming and uplifting. It was a joy to read.

A lovely heart-warming tale of families, extended, blended and not traditional and how they can all exist together. Middledip village is at the heart of this story and when Sky moves into Corner Cottage after losing her job she gets more than she bargained for. As everyone comes together to participate in the Christmas lights event romance blossoms.
I loved this book - a perfect read on a cold winters evening.
