This was wickedly good. I was immediately hooked and did not want to stop reading. Although at times I was beyond frustrated for Leah and wanted to rip my hair out at the injustice of it all, it made her redemption arc that much sweeter and satisfying. My mind was racing back and forth trying to figure out what was going to happen and what everyone's motives were. I really couldn't figure it out until the events all played out at the end. I thought the ending was beyond perfect and I couldn't have asked for anything more.. except one thing. I do wish we had gotten the kids perspective of the events at their father's house. That would have been really interesting. Overall this was wonderfully written. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

🌟🌟🌟🌟
Samantha Hayes delivers a gripping psychological thriller in "The Ex-Husband". The story unfolds as a fresh start turns into a nightmare for our protagonist when she discovers her ex-husband living next door. The sense of safety she's painstakingly built crumbles, replaced by fear and uncertainty. Hayes masterfully portrays the protagonist's paranoia and desperation to protect her children, even as she questions her own sanity.
The tension builds with every page turn, as secrets and suspicions mount between the thin walls separating the two households. Hayes weaves a complex narrative that keeps you guessing until the explosive conclusion. The characters are well-developed, and the psychological depth adds layers to the suspense.
If you enjoy thrillers that delve into the darker aspects of human relationships and the haunting effects of the past, "The Ex-Husband" is a must-read. Perfect for fans of gripping domestic suspense and intricate plot twists.

A great thriller - I would recommend it!
This was an easy entertaining read. The writing was below average and disappointing. The twists were basic and predictable. Average thriller
"The Ex-Husband" by Samantha Hayes is one rollercoaster of a thriller! It's a real nail-biter that had me feeling anxious the whole time. The main character makes some seriously questionable choices that had me yelling at the book at times. It's a fast-paced read that you just can't put down, with a story that's completely nuts in the best way. It's like watching a train wreck—you know you shouldn't look, but you can't help it!
But fair warning, there are some heavy topics in this book, especially when it comes to abusive relationships. So, if that's something that might bother you, it's good to be aware. Overall, though, if you're a fan of psychological thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, "The Ex-Husband" is definitely worth checking out!
Leah thinks she's finally free from her abusive ex husband, until he moves in next door to her... but when he turns up dead everyone's secrets and past come to light.
A little slow in the beginning it picks up pace later on and has quite a few twists and turns along the way

You thought you were safe until he moved in next door.
Leah is happy to have a home for herself and her children. It is the perfect place to start again after the divorce. But sadly her joy is short lived.
New people are moving in next door. Leah meets Gillian who seems quite pleasant and is happy to accept an invitation to go around to her house ... well until she realises that Gillian's partner is none other than her ex husband Craig.
Soon everything goes crazy as Craig plays mind games, but no one believes her. One night as the air fills with smoke and the quiet street is awash with red flashing police lights, all the secrets behind these two closed doors will be revealed!!!
Full of drama and tension with twists and turns galore.
A book I happily read in one day.

A whirlwind of suspense and treachery propels this thriller forward, leaving you mesmerized by its unfolding layers of deception.
This book wasn’t as good as the other books by the author but it’s a good thriller!! I would definitely recommend and will also pick up new books by the author!
Wow ! This thriller needs to be on everyone’s reading list.
I was completely captivated from the first page to the last.
I will be recommending to all of my friends and family
Samantha Hayes is a must read author for me, and The Ex-Husband solidifies that. Full of her trademark over the top twists, this book had me racing through to see what would happen next.
I've read other books from the other and loved them but this one fell a bit flat for me. I didn't like Leah's character and was often annoyed with her actions and I think this was the main problem for me. I also saw a couple of the twists coming, which is unusual for me with the author as she usually surprises me. I will definitely read more in the future as I have enjoyed other books a lot but this one didn't feel quite up to her standards somehow.
Absolutely loved this book!
The writing style was really good and I look forward to reading any other books from this author in the future :)
I love a psychological thriller and this certainly lived up to expectations. Twists and turns a-plenty, although a little predictable at times. Samantha writes well and I really do enjoy her books.
4.5 Stars
I love a good psychological thriller and this was one of those. Such a hard to put down novel. The plot is simple enough Leah and Craig get a divorce and move out of their marriage house.
But guess who just moved in next door to Leah her abusive ex husband. Who would want to deal with that after her escape with her kids.
This book has lots of good twists, very thrilling and worth the read. This is my first book by Samantha Hayes but it won’t be my last.

The Ex-husband is a riveting, unputdownable book for real! When I read through the description I thought this book wouldn't impress having read similar themed books before. But since I've liked Sam Hayes in the past I took a leap of faith & hit send request. I'm so glad I did because this book was so good! Craig had his ex wife Leah in a difficult and dangerous situation and many times I thought I understood where the plot was heading & thought I figured out the end but I was so very wrong. The twists in this domestic suspense thriller are great & ones you will never see coming. I highly recommend this book! I'm only disappointed that I put off reading this book for so long. Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture & Samantha Hayes for the arc!
I thought this book was pretty predictable, there were a couple of twists I didn't see coming. Leah finally got the courage to divorce her abusive husband, but he wasn't happy about it. Leah bought a small place that she could fix up for her and her kids. When the next thing she knew, her ex-husband, Craig, moved in next door to her. What lengths will Craig go to in order to get back at his ex-wife for leaving him?

I have enjoyed this authors previous books but sadly this one did not really cut it for me. I found the storyline too far fetched in places in so much that it just didn't always flow. I felt a little frustrated with the main character with her actions and coupled with it not feeling realistic it was a struggle in places. There are some really good reviews for this so it is definitely worth a read.
Thank you Netgalley.
