This book is the perfect summer read for kid and adults! All about the beach, the illustrations match perfectly with the fun rhyming! This is such a fun book and I really enjoyed it.
This book was an adorable story. Loved that it mentioned sunscreen and hats (and shade)! My four year old loved it. They immediately wanted to go to the beach and then camp out. The illustrations went perfect with the story.
"Flip, Flop, to the Beach We Go" is a charming story, told in rhythm and rhyme, about a child's trip to the beach. The reader may want to practice a bit by reading the book aloud ahead of time to get used to the playful language and rhyming patterns. The book's illustrations are cute and cartoon-like and include diverse characters and animals. This book provides a fun way to prepare for trip to the beach with a preschooler.
Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
My 5yr old and I loved this book. he loves everything that has to do with it. He also had fun zooming in on the pictures and finding "secrets" as he calls them. Like the little starfish and he said the negative space in the hermit crabs claws looks like an upside down mushroom.
Great book to show littles the fun you can have at the beach.
This was a very cute book about a day at the beach. My 5 year old daughter loved all the pictures and reading about what they got to do. She is very excited about going to the beach and wants to recreate what she read!
Thank you for the advanced copy!
A wonderful day at the beach with all the usual activities. I loved the whimsical artwork and well-designed pages. I'm an adult who loves picture books, for they awake my memory of wonderful times during my childhood and the beach is one of my favorite activities. I loved to be reminded of waking up excited to enjoy a great day at the beach.
This was a lovely rhyming story about spending the day at the beach.
The rhyming was fun and exciting. What I truly enjoyed about the book is that it tells a story and teaches important skills like protecting ones skin and respecting marine life.
The illustrations, like the text is fun and playful. It is also nice to see diverse characters and playful interactions with animals.
My only critique, I think the title can be simplified to "To the Beach We Go."
This adorable rhyming book takes you through a day at the beach! The amazing illustrations will engage any young reader. I'm sure parents will appreciate the bedtime routine at the end. Thanks to NetGalley for the review!
What an adorable story about going to the beach for our youngest readers. Students are immersed in vocabulary, bright pictures, and some rhyming words. This is the perfect read as the school year ends and the weather warms up. This would also be a great book to have by the sand and water table in the prek setting.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Ellen DeLange for this advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
This is a sweet book, perfect for getting kids ready and excited to go to the beach this summer! The rhymes were very fun to read and flowed exceptionally well and the art was adorable. I liked the last line especially, very cute.
A cute, rhyme-filled story about a day at the beach. The pictutes were darling and really brought the picture book together. The rhymes at times seemed a little off and I found myself rearranging them in my head to make sense. Other than that I think this is a perfect book for it's target audience of kids! Especially those who love to go to the beach.
Hmmm... Do starfish really like being plonked in the middle of our sandcastles to dry out? This is not the only question to arise from this look at a day at the seaside for our young lead and her dog. The rhymes here are really awkward at times, and in forcing onomatopoeia into things, and therefore demanding this verse be three lines and that one the standard two, there's not really the prettiness about the script you might have wished for. Mind you, the art hasn't got any either. Ideal for a once-over, this is nothing like the best book of its kind, and I can't call it a keeper as such.
If you are planning a trip to the beach with your young family, you might want to share what they can expect with this fun read. All the sand, water, and those flip flops you wear. So many favorites at the beach and favorites are to be shared.
A special thank you to Clavis Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
This is a cute story for younger kids describing a beach adventure. I liked the rhyming and how different sounds you’d find on a beach adventure were used. The illustrations were great and really helped to tell the story. Really cute beach adventure book!
Thanks to NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for access to this ARC.
What a fun little rhyming story! Loved the sweet and easy flow. Great book for toddlers. The illustrations are very well done and follow the story well. Love the animals have sweet little eyes that give a giggly feel for young ones. My kindergartener really enjoyed it but I think it’s meant for an even younger audience.
A book about going to the beach. It was a very nice story. It covered everything you might see or interact with at the beach. The illustrations were very colorful and vibrant. I believe any small child would love this book.
Thanks to Netgalley and Clavis for a free digital copy.
Full of onomatopoeia, vibrant illustrations, and a fun story, this book is a great summer beachy read for kids.
What a cute book about going to the beach. My son loves the words used for the sounds and enjoyed the story. He loves going to the beach and loved being able to read about that journey in a book. This is our first book we’ve read about the beach and it kept him entertained the whole way through!
This rhyming story details all of the fun things that can happen on a day at the beach…build a sandcastle, see fish, go in the water, squish in the sand, and more. The pictures are bright and engaging and they are filled with things to see. This is a cute seasonal title for young children.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Clavis for this title. All opinions are my own.
