The Wonderful World of Eva was a beautifully illustrated book of magical creatures compiled in field guide/journal format. I enjoyed being immersed in Eva's world and even as an adult I was challenged by some of the characters. The range was exquisite, from creepy to cute and even with a touch of humor.

This reminds me of a slightly creepier version of 'The Spiderwick Chronicles' which was my favorite when I was younger! It's written in the same field guide/journal format, complete with beautiful artwork of the many fantastical creatures. Super cute and fun, a quick read. I wouldn't mind reading a whole book series on these creatures, though! Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is an absolutely gorgeous book artwork wise. If you like field guides to magical creatures, I highly recommend it. I wanted to look at it to see if it was something I'd buy for the library, which I don't think I will, but it's definitely a feast for the eyes.

I would have absolutely adored this book when I was younger! Even as an adult I enjoyed being immersed in this world Eva created. All of the characters were original and fascinating to read about. Hoping to see more from this author! I will definitely be picking up her works in the future.

First and foremost, the artwork is OTHERWORLDLY. I've never seen prettier illustrations. Combine that with awesome, weird mystical creatures and you've got one of the best guides out there.

Thank you to Netgalley and Eva Toorenent for providing me with this ARC.

I'm a big fan of creature design and a collector of field guides. This book is like... if Luna had written a field guide... It wasn't. It was Eva and it's awesome. This book is a perfect companion for fans of Fantastical Beasts and Spiderwick. It is perfect for my hunger for creepy and cute critters. This field guide is complex and detailed. The artwork is amazing and the spreads are perfectly designed. It includes the painting of the creature, description, tips and facts, and notes of Eva's experience/first encounter with each. It's like discovering a new world.

Thank you Clavis Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to share my honest review.

I absolutely love the drawings and the layout of this book. It definitely captured my attention and has me truly wishing I could read the text better than on the very unfortunate e-arc format I have access to. It definitely did its job of capturing my interest and making me want to buy the print version of this book though. I'd love to scour through the gorgeous pictures and read all the interesting tidbits about these creatures. The journal type layout is also super cute. I need a copy of this in print asap! It would also make a great gift.

I wish I could have discovered something like this in my youth. This is absolutely wonderful, full of magic and fantasy and would really make that young imagination go wild.

Cleverly put together this little book gives you a break down and descriptions of magical creatures. Its is rich and so beautifully put out.

The illustrations is part of what makes this book so wonderful. Rich in color and imagination.

A MILLION STARSSSS!! ALL TH STARS EVER!
This is legitimately the most unique and fun book I've read in a LONG time! Initially, the cover art drew me in, and I was BEYOND STUNNED at the rest of the illustrations throughout!!! How flipping cute and quirky are these 'creatures' that Eva has carefully crafted and brought to life. I know a lot of them are naughty and inherently bad...but THEY ARE SO DARN CUTE I WANT TO SQUISH THEM!! (Note to self: DO NOT TRY TO SQUISH THEM....nothing good will come of it).

I really would like to get a physical copy of this for my personal library because while the digital e-book was sufficient to 'read' this, I cannot imagine how gorgeous this printed book is with its attention to detail and format of almost a scrapbook.

Incredibly awesome layout- each creature having their own spotlight that showcases it's species type, what an encounter is like (from the author/characters POV) & how to protect yourself from them, what they eat, what type of habitat they live in, their size and so much more!
THEN comes the most amazing illustrations you'll have seen...AND THE MOST ADORABLE LITTLE BABES!! I kept leaning over to my partner and saying 'TELL ME IT ISN'T THE CUTEST!! for every single creature. Note: how the author got me to say that goblins, trolls, fairies and the like are cute is a testament to how well they are drawn. They jump off the page right into your life and hopefully you won't turn to stone!

This would be an awesome gift for ANYONE in your life that appreciates the magical, the bizarre, and the wonderful creatures our mind can conjure up!
(Definitely buy the physical copy- you won't regret it)

This was a short but but cute book. It’s not exactly YA or teen in my view point more juvenile fiction but if you like learning about faeries and mythical creatures, this is a book to read!

Where do I start?! This book is absolutely wonderful, and thank you do Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

I love magical creatures and anything fantasy, and this is the perfect book to read if you've an interest in that too! The author introduces us to the Creatures she encountered while growing up. For every Creature there's a back story, beautiful illustration and plenty of detailed information such as their species, the food they eat, their size, how they reproduce and so on.

The illustrations are beautiful, every creature is unique and there is so much detail!!! There isn't a spot on any of the pages that aren't filled with a lovely drawing or fun information! The author also includes real life photos of items that relate to the Creatures in question!

I love how there's a back story for every Creature, where the author explains how she (or her family members) came across the Creatures. These are written in a personal-dairy entry type of way, which makes for a fun read. It makes the book that more personal and real for the readers!

This is a faultless book, with magical creatures, lovely illustrations and detailed descriptions!

This is the perfect book for those who love a bit of magic in their lives, regardless of your age! :)

It reminds me of Fantastic Beasts, complete with illustrations of cute but creepy magical creatures. As a result, it is like Eva's diary, in which she writes about how she met these magical creatures, where they came from, what they eat, and how to protect ourselves if we encounter them, and i loved it.

This book is a type of scrapbook of the wonderful world of Eva. The illustrations are amazing. The formatting didn't translate well to the kindle version. So I wasn't able to read the words. I think holding this book in your hands would be splendid. To catch all the amazing details.

First of all this book is not a storybook, it is more like a journal with scrapbook style about unique mystical creature we can found around us. It is fiction off course but detail explanation and the illustration is rich with details, creepy in beautiful way. The font give the personal handwriting and classic vibe but not friendly for eyes with e-book.

Thanks Netgalley for providing me this copy.

Thank you so much to Clovis Publishing and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

This book caught my eye, the description and the cover were so beautiful and unique, so it made me want to give it a read. I didn’t realise what it was when I opened it up and started reading, it was so clever and not like anything I’d seen before.

This book is a whole scrapbook style book all about creatures I’d never heard of. The descriptions are so vivid that you’d think they were real and they are real to the author/illustrator and honestly it’s so cool. These creatures are amazing to learn about and all look so different to any I’d seen before, it really sparks your imagination.

The illustrations are literally breath taking and gorgeous so much went into creating them and making them all so lifelike and real and honestly if you read this book you will be in awe of the art work I certainly am. It was my favourite part of the whole book, seeing all these illustration for the creatures they were utterly gorgeous.

The creatures are such a mixture and each one comes with a personal encounter from the author along with facts about the creature, the beautiful illustrations of the creature and details about it. It’s so so innovative and unique and I’ve never seen a book like this before personally.

If you love fantasy, mythology, unique beings/ creatures then I suggest that you give this one a read it’s so clever really beautiful and such a unique read. I loved learning about all these interesting creatures.

the formatting of this book was near impossible to read on my kindle and other versions weren’t compatible with my devices for some reason. though i couldn’t decipher the words, the illustrations themselves were beautiful.
