I hope this series continues. It’s a cozy psychic mystery and I am here for it. It’s well written and the endings actually make sense.

Cherie Priest’s newest book once again finds Seattle travel agent and novice psychic, Leda Foley, and detective Grady Merritt teaming up to solve not one, but two cases - one involving a missing person and the other a suspicious death. While Leda is hired by a man to find his missing sister, Grady is investigating the circumstances surrounding the human leg his dog, Cairo, found while lost near Mt Rainer. Eventually the two cases intertwine and Leda and Grady are in the middle.

Flight Risk is a delightful mystery. It is entertaining, with good dialogue, humor, and a well-plotted mystery. There are many secondary characters that also add to the charm of this book, including Grady’s daughter, the bouncer at Castaway Bar, and Grady’s partner, Sam. Their presence throughout the story adds another layer of interest and entertainment.

My only negative comment relates to the rather gratuitous scene that involved weed and vaping. I don’t mind these elements in a story if they add interest or are germane to the plot or characters. But, in this case, it seemed to be unnecessary and only created distraction and a head scratch. However, despite this bit of a detour, I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Leda and the gang.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book for review.

Travel Agent Leda Foley is finding her business is taking off. Well, her businesses, actually, She takes care of her travel clients, but she has also started taking clients who are interested in channeling her psychic powers towards helping them find something, or someone, that’s gone missing. Enter Dan, who is concerned because his sister has been missing for weeks.

She is a corporate landscaper and was last seen on the job site. It’s a large open area that will become shops and apartments, and Robin is planning all the plants and greens. She had been leaving the space when she disappeared, along with $30,000 in cash that she was about to take to the bank. While those closest to her don’t think she would just disappear with the money, there are those who wonder.

Meanwhile, Seattle detective Grady Merritt has lost his dog. He had been hiking with the dog and his daughter Molly in a nearby national park, and their dog Cairo just disappeared on them. They called for him and asked everyone they saw if anyone saw the dog, but no one had. Grady and Molly went back to the park the next weekend to try to find him. Molly is handing out flyers and asking everyone if they’ve seen him, when he finally reappears.

With a leg. A human leg.

Grady calls the local authorities and makes a deal with them that he will retrieve anything that comes out of the dog for the next couple of days in order to get Cairo back home. The local police brush him well for clues and send him back home with Grady and Molly. But apparently he had more than just a le in his mouth because the next day, they find a wedding band that had gone through his system.

Grady takes the ring to Leda, to see if her psychic powers get a hit, and while she can’t figure out what she’s seeing, she does decide to call around to local jewelry stores to see if anyone remembers engraving the quote. Her calls work, and she finds the jeweler, which leads them to a name. The ring turns out to belong to Paul, a professor and the husband of Robin, who had gone missing several weeks earlier.

Now that Leda’s missing person case and Grady’s found leg case are linked, they work together to fill in the missing pieces. But it’s not until Leda hears a couple of children playing that she starts to piece together what happened to this couple and how to capture those responsible.

Flight Risk is the second novel in the Booking Agents series. Author Cherie Priest has created these amazing characters, and she writes a tautly plotted mystery that is filled with humor and warmth. Leda may be a psychic, but she’s smart about it, exercising her muscles with her karaoke, taking items from the crowd and selecting a song for the person based on what she feels from the item. As she practices, she finds it easier to understand her flashes when she’s trying to solve crimes, which is just so smart of her.

I love Leda, her best friend Niki, and all her friends at Castaways, the bar where she does her karaoke. The way Leda and Niki make themselves so comfortable with Grady and his colleagues is hilarious, and the relaxed vibe of the book just makes Seattle come to life in these scenes. I love the camaraderie of Flight Risk and the gentle crime-solving. I can’t wait until it’s time for Leda to create another trip for me to take!

Egalleys for Flight Risk were provided by Atria Books through NetGalley, with many thanks.

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this book.

Yes, you should read book one first, but this story is largely independent from it.

We continue to follow Leda and Grady to solve a murder mystery. To me, the series is majorly Psych vibes. I know Leda is not a fake psychic, but still. Same humor. Same type of murder.

I’ve seen this described as a cozy mystery, but I like this BETTER than a cozy mystery. It’s NOT cheesy, but it’s actually really funny! I love the banter.

No romance in this book—yet? Ever? Unsure.

I will definitely be looking forward to book 3.

If you want a book that is murder lite, get this series.

This third book in Priest's cozy mystery series is so fun! I love her development of the characters, the humor, and the fast-moving plot. These books are great fun!

Leda and Grady are back at it again, this time trying to solve the mysterious disappearance of an estranged couple. Using her psychic abilities, Leda tries to locate a missing women for her worried brother and son. While hiking with his teen daughter and dog, Grady stumbles across a man’s severed leg, and starts to investigate. Both are surprised when the two cases overlap and end up working together to solve them.

I’m sold on this series! Grady and Leda are the perfect platonic couple and work together well. So many laughs and lots of intrigue make this book a great suspenseful mystery. Flight Risk is the second installment of this series, and I feel it’s better to read them in order, because you need the backstory to really appreciate this one.

I enjoyed this one more than the first one (which I also enjoyed once it hit its stride). The mystery was fascinating and I liked how their cases were separate but then became related so that each one had to establish their own investigation methods before working together. The relationships between Leda, Grady, and Niki are fun and well written. The concept of Klairvoyant Karaoke is something I want to see in person because I think it would be a hoot. All in all, a well written and good paced mystery that kept me guessing until the very end.

4.5 stars - I loved it! Would re-read.

I get such a kick out of this series! The mystery here is great, and the story is funny, with fantastic characters. A start-to-finish read. This is a series I will be sticking with! (Language)

Flight Risk starts with a missing person and a missing bag of $30,000 cash. Quickly add on a dog carrying around a human leg in his mouth and you can safely assume I am hooked 😆 Flight Risk is the second in the Booking Agents series by Cherie Priest. The first in the series, Grave Reservations, had a few points that didn't sit well with me. But the writing, the characters, and the mystery spurred me on to try book 2. I'm so glad I did!! The characters I loved were back in this story with an even better double mystery. It isn't often that I like a second in a series better than the first but that's 100% the case here! If you enjoyed Finlay Donovan, this is definitely a series to try.

Flight Risk is out now! Thank you Netgalley and Atria for my e-galley!

Another great cozy mystery to curl up with. This is the second book in the series about travel agent who is psychic and solves crimes. But her psychic abilities are very unique.

A fantastic sequel to Priest's Grave Reservations! The banter, the shenanigans, the ridiculousness that is the friendship of Leda and Niki and their foil, Grady- this sequel did not disappoint!

Looking forward to the next (*fingers crossed*) book in The Booking Agents series!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books and Simon & Schuster for sharing this digital ARC with me in exchange for my honest review.

I was hoping this one would be better than the first one and it was but only slightly. I still like Grady and still questioned his judgment when it came to involving Leda and by default Niki. Leda wasn’t as whiny/down on herself this go round so that was an improvement. Still not a fan of Niki- she’s too involved even when she’s not directly involved and when she is there she definitely operates in the gray zone.

I think this is a good series for someone who’s just getting into mystery/thrillers and looking for something lighter and doesn’t mind some eccentric characters.

I recently listened to Grave Reservations courtesy of Simon Audio, and I knew I had to request the sequel. This series is so much fun! If you like amateur detective stories like Finlay Donovan, you'll be sure to love Leda's antics as well. Leda is a psychic travel agent, but her psychic powers aren't always the most reliable. In the first book, she developed a friendship with Detective Grady. In Flight Risk, Grady's police department has allowed Leda to consult for them on a few cases. She's honing her detective skills, and the story was just as fun as the first book.

We see a lot of the same characters as in Grave Reservations: Nikki, the staff at Castaway's, and of course Grady. We get to know Grady's daughter a little more in Flight Risk, and she's a great addition to a fun cast of characters.

I'm definitely a fan of this fun, lighthearted series, and I can't wait for another book!

Leda the inconsistent psychic and travel agent is asked for help on a missing person case by the woman’s brother. After helping to solve the case in the first book she’s gained some attention and people have been asking for her help. At the same time her Detective partner in crime Grady is looking for his missing dog with his daughter and because his life has been increasingly odd since meeting Leda... the dog finds a severed leg. Which ends up belonging to the husband of the missing woman that Leda is looking into. Naturally they work together since Leda is now technically a consultant for the police. Following clues and engaging in shenanigans they try to figure out what could have happened to this couple. Who did not have a happy marriage and the wife was missing long before the husband.

I liked the first book but this one I liked a lot less. Leda and Niki were so annoying when before I liked them they acted like 15 year old girls instead of women in their late 30s. There was so much nonsense with them I don’t know how Grady could stand it. They never listened and interfered and were really just irritating in general and so immature. Because of course some hot guy they don’t even know couldn’t be a killer because he’s too good looking for that. It’s like these likable people from the first book disappeared replaced with their far more annoying doppelgängers. Aside from that I also found the way some people are described to be odd. Like “the black ex-con bouncer”, the “gay Asian” owner of the bar and the TA that was described as “short and a little heavy” and the psychic/medium lady who was referred to as “big” more than once. Maybe I’m crazy but it just seemed weird and unnecessary.

The story just wasn’t great Leda is no better with her psychic abilities than she was before. She’s overly quirky in a way that makes her unlikable. I didn’t hate it but it could have been better. And the whole story of the predator professor was handled rather weirdly. Also how did it take them most of the book to figure out how the body ended up in the park? It was stupidly obvious for a very long time.

If there’s another book I might read it hopefully it would be better than this.

There were elements of this book that I liked. Though at times the meandering at times slowed down the book. The reveal made sense but maybe a bit predictable.

This was a fun sequel in the Grave Reservations cozy mystery series featuring a psychic travel agent in Seattle. In this book Leda is helping Detective Grady figure out whose dead body his dog discovered as well as solve a woman's disappearance only to have the two cases merge in unexpected ways. Lots of quirky side characters, and a few good twists. Recommended for fans of Carol J Perry's Haunted Haven mysteries. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

After Leda, a psychic travel agent, helped detective Grady with solving a crime she has longed to repeat the adventure. When she is approached by a man looking for his sister, she decides to take on his case. It turns out that detective Grady is also interested in the case, making Leda and Grady partners for another adventurous crime solving mission!

Pick up this one if: cozy mysteries are your jam, you enjoy light-hearted humor and friendly banter
Skip this one if: you need high stakes mysteries/thrillers, you prefer serious mysteries

I loved the relationship between Grady and Leda. I loved the respect he had for her abilities despite his skepticism. Their friendship and silly banter was so entertaining! I found myself laughing at them several times. I hadn't realized that this was book two of a series but I will definitely be going back to read book one! This book can be read as a standalone.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for a free e-book version for review. The thoughts presented are my own.

I had such high hopes for this one because I loved the first book! Unfortunately, it felt like an unfinished copy. The storyline was messy, the dual-POV didn’t add anything to the story, and overall it just felt like there was a lot of filler. I’m so disappointed because I loved the characters but I just didn’t connect with them this time around. The pacing also seemed off, and whole sections seemed to add nothing to the plot whatsoever.

I might try the next one in this series, but my hopes aren’t very high.

Leda and Grady's paths reconnect while they are each working on a missing person case. These cases include Mount Rainer, academics, landscapers, and a couple of very good dogs.

It's light on romance, heavy on drinking, and efferevescent when reading.
