Oh man I really enjoyed this book and it was a fast read. The characters are great, the banter between Grady and Leda is just hilarious and poor Grady having to deal with Leda and her bff Niki when they want to accompany him to crime scenes and to talk to witnesses. They are just very enthusiastic about helping and the crime solving. The mystery in this book was interesting and I like how it unraveled and how much Leda is embracing her psychic abilities and that they still need some work and aren’t always reliable. I love that we got some more screen time with Grady’s daughter Molly, I love their relationship and their yellow lab Cairo was the star of the show in the beginning of the book since he found part of the body while he was lost. Just a really great read and I can’t wait for the next installment of the series.
Thanks to Atria and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book in e-book form. All opinions in this review are my own.

In this second installment of Cherie Priest’s series “The Booking Agents” Leda, the psychic amateur detective, and Grady, the Seattle PD homicide detective, once again combine forces to solve a missing person/murder case.
While the plot and the mystery in this one wasn’t quite as engaging as in the first book, they were still very good and twisty enough to keep me interested. But what was most appealing is characters, their banter, their chemistry, funny moments and secondary characters’ development kept me interested and enjoying the story. Priest creates likable, realistic and relatable characters we, readers, enjoy getting to know. It was fun learning more about Grady’s daughter and partners, and Leda’s friends. I will look forward to more “pshenanigans” that Leda will hopefully get up to.

Thanks to Atria/Simon & Shuster for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The Booking Agents series has a premise that I was doubtful about at first: a psychic helps a police detective solve mysteries. The covers look almost like cozy mystery covers, and I am not big on cozies. However, I can honestly say that the second book in the series is even better than the first! The novels are witty, and Leda Foley and Grady Merritt are an engaging sleuthing pair. There's a Seattle setting, and a dog (always a plus). Highly enjoyable, and I will be continuing with the series for certain. I get the feeling that the series is improving and the author has not yet quite hit her stride. Book #3 and hopefully #4 and later in this series will be downloaded by me for review at the earliest possible opportunity!

Cherie Priest's Booking Agents series is so fun, so creative, and this book--Flight Risk, the second in the series--was no exception. I loved getting back into Grady and Leda's respective lives, seeing how Leda's slightly psychic abilities are becoming more concrete all the time, and how Grady is beginning to let people in. The mystery here felt predictable--in the first few chapters, I was prepared to be annoyed at it being too easy--but the twists and turns surprised me and kept me guessing. By the time we got to the end, I might have had my guesses confirmed, but the way we got there was very satisfying. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

This is the second book in a wonderful series that will appeal to fans of cozy mysteries, but it is not "too cozy," so it will appeal to a wider variety of readers as well -- particularly readers who enjoy some humor. Leda is a great amateur sleuth, because she is a psychic -- just not a very good or effective one all the time, but her abilities do prove useful sometime, to the point where she is allowed to help the police. In real life, she owns a travel agency. In this new book, she is on the case, helping a woman with a husband problem, when the police detective she works with tells her that his dog just turned up with a human arm. As unlikely as it seems, the two cases turn out to be related, and the fun begins. I really look forward to recommending this title.

This follow up to Grave Reservations can be read as a standalone -- but it would be much more fun to start with the first book. How else to describe the middling level of oddity? We have Leda Foley, a youngish clairvoyant/karaoke queen/travel agent. Her best friend Nikki, her peer group which hangs out at a local bar, and Detective Grady Merritt of the Seattle Police Dept.
Grady, a widower with a teenage daughter, wouldn't normally be into the woo-woo stuff -- but Leda saved his life with her place crash visions in an earlier book. Grady doesn't like unsolved murders, and he will use any tools he has -- including Leda's psychic powers -- to try and find the guilty parties.
Leda has a client whose sister mysteriously went missing with a large amount of money months ago. Her seemingly unconcerned and adulterous husband didn't bother to report her missing. But then -- the husband turns up (or at least a part of him does). And Grady's dog finds him.
They pool their efforts to try and figure out this double disappearance. Along the way, expect comedy, occasional poignancy, banter, oddball characters, and lots of action. A fun series. Thanks to the publisher and to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second in a book series about a psychic who helps the police solve mysteries in Seattle. It straddles the genres of cozy mysteries and traditional mysteries with a healthy dash of humor. This installment focuses on the mystery of a missing college professor and his long suffering wife. The son and brother-in-law are suspects, and the cop's big dog drives the plot by finding a severed leg on a mountain hike. An enjoyable, quick read!

Overall, this was a fun read. The humour and banter in this book did it for me. Although, some of the concepts seemed a little “out there” for me, it kept my imagination going!
The mystery part of it wasn’t as compelling as I hoped it would be. It fell a little flat for me, however, I did continue to the end and I was pleased but not as pleased as I was while reading the first book in this series.
Overall, this was a good little read that I would recommend to my book pals who are fans of the Finlay Donovan series!

I am officially *into* this series. I enjoyed the first, and this second installment did not disappoint! The mystery itself was slightly more than fine - well thought out, a little gross, not all that shocking but still kept me guessing - but the real gem is the shtick between our main characters. Honestly - an accidental psychic police consultant and a cop solving crimes together is a truly delightful plot device. I’d call this one just north of a cozy - it’s not going to give you nightmares, but you’re not going to want to curl up in this world, either. Recommended for fans of Finlay Donovan - it’s those books are your vibe (they are mine!) this would be a great next series to pick up.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a chance to read an early copy!

I really enjoyed this book. It had twists and turns that I wasn't quite expecting but it was very entertaining!

I love this series so much. It's SO fun and this was a great follow up. I want to hang out with Cherie Priest

Leda and Grady are back for another wild romp through the Pacific Northwest! What do a missing woman, a missing bag of money, and a missing dog all have in common? If I told you, then you'd miss out on all the psychic crime-solving fun. For the most part, I loved the humor and banter between the characters, but there was sometimes a dissonance between the seriousness of the crimes and Leda's flippant responses, that grated on my nerves. I found her to be slightly childish in this book compared to the first in the series, but the mystery kept me turning the pages quickly, and honestly, this book helped get me out of a reading rut, so I have to give it an extra star for that!
You don't need to start with Book 1 in this series to enjoy Book 2, but you might find yourself wanting to go back to the beginning, just to spend more time with Leda and crew.
Recommended for readers looking for a light mystery with a touch of the supernatural, who don't mind a handful of gruesome details and a sprinkle of cusswords.

This is the second volume in this series. Psychic Leda Foley is hired by a man desperately searching for his missing sister. Detective Grady Merritt’s dog has run away, only to reappear carrying a human leg. This gets Grady involved in the search for the rest of the body. It just so happens that both cases are connected, and Leda and Grady team up once again to solve a perplexing case. This series is interesting and unique: the psychic who is unsure about her abilities, yet tries her best to help, and the detective who accepts her “woo woo” ways while trying to keep the higher-ups in his department from finding out about his unique consultant. I also appreciate that there is no romance between the two, just respect and friendship. However, I do find Leda’s BFF, Nicki, annoying, especially when she insists on tagging along on the investigation.; she is neither cop nor psychic, just a busybody. There are side characters that have not developed yet, but have potential.

Leda is a travel agent with inconsistent psychic abilities, and Grady is a detective who investigates murder cases. Each main character begins their own investigations of two different missing people who turn out to be married. They’ve worked together before, so they put their unique talents together to investigate this murder and missing person mystery.
I had fun reading Flight Risk. Some parts were a bit far-fetched. However, this book has humor, action, banter, and an awesome (sometimes mischievous) dog. Plus, the many potential suspects we were introduced to kept me guessing the culprit until the end.
I really enjoyed reading Flight Risk, and I plan to continue with this series. If you like the twists of murder mysteries, very likable characters, and funny situations, I recommend picking this series up!

The Klairvoyant Karaoke/Psychic Songstress Leda Foley is back! When Leda receives a visit at her travel agency from a man upset about his missing sister, Leda is on the case - with a bunch of caveats about her inconsistent psychic abilities. Soon she finds her path crossing again with Seattle Detective Grady Merritt, whose pup has found (ahem) a piece of a person while scavenging around Mount Rainier. The murder-mystery-solving duo reunites again for a wild adventure!

A fun follow-up to Grave reservations in which psychic Leda, her best friend Nikki, and cop Grady become entangled in two connected cases. Leda's signature psychic psongstress act has developed and is much fun to witness, as are her relationships with Nikki and Grady. This was a quick read, perfect for a weekend. While the first book in this series was a little uneven, this one is much better.

Leda the physic detective is back on the case. When she's not a travel agent or singing psychic karaoke (can this please be a real thing?!?), she helps out her cop friend Grady. One day Grady's dog brings back a human leg and gives Grady not one, but two missing person cases. Leda uses her psychic powers to help him find the missing people and solve the case.
I had enjoyed Priest's first book about Leda (although you would not need to read these in order as they're unrelated cases) and I liked this one just as much. It has a littler tone and some mystery to keep it moving. I like Leda and her best friend and her friendship with detective Grady. This book would be good for fans of Finlay Donovan books or Dial A for Auntie or the tv show Psych.
Thank you to Netgalley for the advance copy for review.

Ever try to solve a murder mystery when the body is also missing?
Cherie Priest returns to her Booking Agents series with a delightful sequel. Our, sometimes, psychic Leda takes a case that connects to our lovable detective Grady's missing dog. A brother is looking for his sister, Grady is looking for his dog, there are plenty of missing people and suspects to go around.
I'd love to live in this little spot of Seattle, but I'll have to settle for vacationing there through this series. Can't wait to read more.

I enjoyed the second book of this series. It was nice to return to the friendship and humor between the characters. I laughed out loud more than once.
The mystery, for me, wasn't quite as strong as in the first book.
It felt like the chemistry between the leads was missing something in this one as well.
Overall, this is a fun, light read.

Leda is now recognized by the public since helping Grady solve a police case in the first one and she receives her first real case by herself from a guy named Dan who’s looking for his missing sister Robin. Robin’s husband Paul didn’t report her missing for a month and only at the behest of his son Jeff. She vanishes on the way to make a $30,000 bank deposit for her job. Some people think she’s finally left her philandering, awful husband Paul but Dan and Jeff aren’t convinced since they haven’t heard from her. Meanwhile, while Grady and his daughter are on a hike in a different county their dog gets lost and is subsequently found with a detached human leg in his mouth. Paul’s leg. Now Leda and Grady team up again to solve both cases.
I didn’t care for Leda & Niki’s borderline obsession with Carson Coleman and how they constantly defended him and said he couldn’t *possibly* be a murderer because he was just so hot. It was off putting to say the least and reminded me of how women in real life treat handsome men even when they are suspected of and sometimes proven to be awful people. Even after they found out he was not a murdered but still an accessory after the fact they justified it saying “well he’s not a bad person” simply based on his looks. I also didn’t care for how some of the characters were described. Or how it was described as Leda “molesting” her coffee while watching an interrogation. But overall that didn’t impact my feelings about the book a great deal.
I was so excited to read the second installment in this series because I enjoyed the first one so much. While I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as the first plot wise it was still a very good book that I couldn’t put down.
Thank you NetGalley & Atria Books for the arc and opportunity to read it in advance.
