I didn’t like this book as much as the first one but it was ok. The mystery wasn’t all that special but what I really missed was the relationships between the characters. There was banter but there was no relationship or character development-we didn’t learn anything new about the characters at all except that Grady hates birthdays. What made the first book so fun was the characters - murder mystery procedurals are a dime a dozen, many of which even include psychics and they have plots with more oomph. I’m here for Leda & Grady and their crews of the fun, funny and woo-woo varieties. They are what make this series stand out. I hope we get more character development in the next book.

I am loving this series by Cherie Priest. This one was a fun follow up to Grave Reservations. I have fallen in love with the characters and love to see where Leda and Grady are going to carry us on their next adventure. I love that this one focused on her involvement as a contract employee with the police department.
When they both have been approached about cases that over twine they realize that they will have to once again work together to solve the mystery.
Such a fun read! Would recommend this series to anyone!

I can't believe I forgot to rate this! I finished Flight Risk last week and I loved it, I think I liked it more than it's predecessor, Grave Reservation. Cherie Priest reunites us with the wonderful duo of Leda Foley and Grady Merritt in this follow up novel. What you need to know - Grady's dog runs into the woods and reemerges with a leg in his mouth. A man consults psychic Leda for help finding his sister. Of course the cases are connected and fun, hijinks and the mystery unfolds from there. This series is total fun for me and I'm a big fan. I can't wait for the next one!

Flight Risk was a 6 / 10 for me. I enjoy mystery / thriller books which is what drew me to this story in addition to its attractive cover art. This was a little bit of a lighter mystery book than I'm used to which I found I enjoyed! I didn't find the story exceptionally addicting at any point and it took me a bit longer to get through than most books, but it was still a story I enjoyed picking up and was interested in finding out what happened in the end.
I was not aware this was a sequel to a book I hadn't read going in, and was nervous I'd miss some things not having the background information but it wasn't a hinderance! I enjoyed each of the characters in the story and felt like I got to know them even without knowing the plot of the first book. After finishing Flight Risk, I'm going back to read the first book and will definitely look to pick up any future additions to this 'universe'! If you like a bit of suspense / mystery but don't enjoy the heavy, dark or anxiety inducing books in that genre, this is a great one! Felt a bit like "Only Murders in the Building" where it had some darker material but with a bit of a lighter, more humorous touch.

Thanks you NetGalley and Atria Books for this ARC. We are back with round 2 of Leda, the psychic travel agent. Her day job? Booking travel plans for clients. Her side gig? A psychic with the Seattle Police Department. Can she help solve the case of a missing couple? Another light hearted, funny read from Cherie Priest! #FlightRisk #CheriePriest #AtriaBooks #Nov2022

5 cozy, fun stars! I absolutely loved Priest’s first modern cozy mystery, Grave Reservations, so I was very excited to jump into Flight Risk. I’m happy to report that it did not disappoint! I enjoyed it almost more than the first installment in the series. hat after a were further developed, the plot moved a bit faster and the reveals were just as shocking. It had the same cozy atmosphere that I enjoyed in Grave Reservations and I felt right at home as I read the sequel. It was genuinely laugh-out-loud funny at some points while still maintaining some serious themes and emotions. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves cozy mysteries that offer a bit more than the typical.

I am loving this series! It is a laugh-out-loud, can't believe this is a happening book. The author makes her characters your friends so it is sad when it ends. The author has me hooked! I can not wait until the next one.

Seattle's only psychic/travel agent, Leda Foley, has her hands full when she is hired to find Dan Matarese's sister, Robin Reddick, who has gone missing. Not only Robin is missing, but also her vintage orange Volvo and thirty thousand dollars in her employer's money. Robin has worked as a landscaping architect for a large construction company. Her specialty is lessening the environmental impact, and she is completely trusted. When Dan contacts Robin's husband, college professor Paul Reddick, Paul is supremely unconcerned, saying that she is probably just on a get-away. Brother Dan is not convinced. Neither he, his other sister, or Robin's son have heard anything from her in more than a month.
Meanwhile, Detective Grady Merritt (Leda's sometime collaborator) has his own case to deal with. He and his teenage daughter, Molly, are on an outing with their dog at Mt. Ranier. Cairo, the dog, goes bounding off into the brush and disappears. Molly and Grady are passing out flyers at the visitor's center when Cairo comes back....with a human leg in his mouth. Immediately called "Mr. Leg," DNA testing shows it belongs to Paul Reddick, the missing Robin's philandering husband. So Leda's and Grady's cases intersect once again. Grady has become a true believer after Leda booked him on an ill-fated flight and then canceled the ticket because she had one of her "feelings." The plane crashed on take-off. Leda is not always consistent in her predictions but has honed her skills. She does an occasional karaoke show at a neighborhood bar, The Castaways. Billed as The Psychic Songstress, she has become quite a draw. Finding out what happened to Robin and the whys and hows of "Mr. Leg" landing in a tree is a tall order.
I have been a fan of Cherie Priest since reading her award-winning Steampunk fantasy, Boneshaker, several years ago. She writes in several genres, always with flair and humor. Likable, quirky characters and laugh-out-loud dialogue make Flight Risk and its predecessor, Grave Reservations, winning and most enjoyable reads.
Thanks to Netgalley.com and Atria Books for an advance digital copy. The opinions are my own.

So overall I really enjoyed this, though maybe not quite as much as the first -- the mystery wasn't quite as interesting, even though some aspects were really out there -- including the other part I couldn't quite get past. There is one (early) element that is just, really really gross. And repeated quite a few times. The chemistry between the leads felt a bit more disconnected, and more off on separate side quests. That said, I also really liked all of the Seattle references.

There's a specific kind of rom com character-the devil-may-care, optimistic, mildly flighty, female character. This book dumps her into a somewhat gruesome murder mystery combined with urban fantasy psychic detective touches. It sounds like it shouldn't work, but the result is oddly....delightful (?) as long as you don't think about it too much. Still, if you approach this book like the main male character approaches our rom com character and just go along for the ride, you are in for a fun, bubbly time! Recommended for beach reading.

I am completely at fault for not realizing this was a sequel! I'm going to rent the first in the series from the library and then read this one. thank you netgalley & the publisher for the arc

I so love the concept of this series! I am trying to love Leda. Perhaps my issue is that the characters are super relatable, they feel real. And Leda is real damn annoying to me. Not annoying enough to stop reading the series, I'd go to her show if it was a real thing. But I sure as shit wouldn't be hanging out with her on a regular basis.
Regardless, it's a fun book/series and absolutely worth picking up and I look forward to the next one!

Inconsistent Psychic and travel agent Leda Foley and Seattle Detective Grady Merritts paths cross again in the second book in the Booking Agent Mystery Series Flight Risk by Cherie Priest. Leda is hired to search for a missing woman by a worried brother. Meanwhile the Detective is brought into a different case when his dog returns from the woods off a path in My Rainer with a human leg in his mouth. Could these two cases be linked? This was another fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I’m looking forward to reading future books in this cozy mystery series for the adventures and to watch the characters and relationships develop more deeply. Thank you to #AtriaBooks and #NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a perfectly serviceable little mystery, but it felt like a short story's worth of ideas stretched to novel length. This is the second book in the series, and while the first book established the relationship between the two main protagonists, Flight Risk completely fails at developing it. Why are they still hanging out? Why does the detective put up with the psychic's total chaos and intrusiveness? There could be compelling answers, but we never get them, and since the character interactions take up at least as much time as the whodunit, I spent a lot of time distracted by those questions. Flight Risk is an easy read that skates along on the surface of the story, never convincing me to care.

The second in the Booking Agents mystery series featuring psychic detective Leda and regular detective Grady. Leda is hired to find a missing woman. Around the same time, Grady's dog finds a detached human leg in the woods. It turns out the leg belongs to the missing woman's husband. Leda and Grady must work together again to solve both these cases now.
I really enjoy this series! The first book was really good and I was glad this sequel was just as enjoyable! I really enjoy the characters in the book, and the paranormal is not over the top. There is also good humor in these books. I look forward to more in this series and definitely will buy this one when it comes out!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Flight Risk,
I enjoyed the first book in the series so I was excited when my request was approved.
Psychic travel agent Leda Foley is back with an all new case, and naturally, her case overlaps with Grady Merritt, widowed father and capable Seattle police detective.
I enjoyed the banter between Leda and Grady, the friendship between Leda and Nikki, and the cast of quirky characters from Castaways.
I like the author's writing style and tone; the mystery wasn't bad, though my only caveat is that the narrative dragged on.
I liked the procedural aspects of the plot; Grady interviewing suspects, following up on witnesses and potential leads; then we get to the parts where Grady and Leda goes hiking, scouting for clues and Leda keeps ruminating on what she was forgetting that would help lead her to find a missing man.
This part of the narrative was so repetitive I wondered if the author was just adding filler to boost her word count.
Overall, the mystery wasn't bad, the main and supporting characters remain likable and the story ends on a positive note.

I received a free copy of FLIGHT RISK (Book 2 of the Booking Agent Mysteries) by Cherie Priest in exchange for an honest review. Psychic travel agent/private investigator Leda Foley takes a case that directly intersects with one being worked by her friend Seattle PD detective Grady Merritt. What does a male human leg recovered from a State Park have to do with someone's missing sister? I liked this book as well as the first in the series.

I enjoyed the first book in the series so I was happy to read the second story about Leda, the psychic detective. I found this book a little harder to get into than the first. The mystery was a unique one, but it didn’t hold my attention that well. But I like the characters!

This one had a slight sophomore slump but I enjoy the characters and their shenanigans. This series reminds me a lot of Sharon McCone mysteries.

I didn't think the second psychic travel agent book was as strong as the first, but it's still an entertaining read. Leda is growing her travel agent business, performing her klairvoyant karaoke as the psychic psongstress, and working as an official consultant to the Seattle Police Department. With the multiple hats she wears, it sometimes seemed that we were bouncing all over the place with perfunctory check-ins with the club and travel agency--these aspects didn't seem as fleshed out as in the first book. While the quirky characters are part of the fun of the book, I did feel that Niki butts into official police business too much--she can't claim to be a consultant like Leda.
This wasn't bad, and is a competent follow-up to the first book. However, I'm hoping that this is just a sophomore slump, and the easy rhythm and flow of the first will return in follow-up volumes.
