What a thrilling conclusion! I've been loving this series! This book brought everything together and really wrapped it up nicely. There were even some tie-ins to some of Warren's other books, so it was really neat to see some old favorite characters.
The faith element was really great and so moving. I loved finally getting to know Colt and Tae better and spending more time with all the Kingston brothers. Seeing them work together despite their past disputes was so inspiring.
There was a lot of danger, suspense, mystery, high stakes, racing against the clock, and, of course, sweet swoonworthy romance. I did feel like the pace was uneven in a few spots. There were a couple times when something exciting happened and I'd be so anxious to see how it all turned out, but then things took on a slower pace. Which I guess was a good time to catch my breath, but I found myself having a hard time concentrating and instead wanting to get back to the action. To saving the world. Also, I'm trying to be careful of spoilers, but there were a few times where I questioned the reality of how some things were allowed to happen. But I was able to set aside my disbelief pretty quickly and enjoyed the wild ride this story turned out to be.
All in all, I really enjoyed this conclusion to the Sky King Ranch series. I recommend it to fans of romantic suspense.
I received an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.
Sundown is the amazing conclusion to Susan May Warren's Sky King Ranch series which is total adventure from the beginning to the end. This is Colt's story but we also see a lot of his brothers Dodge and Ranger which makes this a lot of fun. They are all ex-military men who are strong and standing up against the evil in this world. I love the women that they fall in love with and how they keep going even when it's hard. Beautiful story with themes themes of redemption and love for one another that made me cry.
If you like clean, Christian romance with a lot of adventure, you won't go wrong with a book by Susan May Warren! Each book in this series was a 5 star for me!
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

'Colt wasn't the only brave one here. Wasn't the only one who was ready to do violence to keep people safe.'
When I read a Susan May Warren book, it just consumes me. Totally. I will pick it up and dive in completely. I've been waiting on this one so eagerly because I just had to know what happens with Colt Kingston. These Kingston brothers, fraternal triplets, are as brave as they come, above and beyond. Loyal, fierce, protective and patriotic.
Warren knows exactly how to ratchet up the action and grab her readers with her deeply impactful spiritual thread. She plumbs the absolute depth of her characters' emotions as well. When you readone of her books, you definitely are all in, simply because there's no other way to read her books. This one is another one to add to my keeper shelf. Well done!
My thanks to Revell for a copy of this book. The opinion here is expressly my own.
Absolutely loved it.
This whole series has been a building experience in heart pounding suspense and romance mixed together in a thrilling way that Susan May Warren brings time and time again. We get to see familiar faces from previous books and get more of the characters that have been involved in the story from the beginning.
The hero Colt, in this story is just perfect, in his own imperfect, flawed way. We get a deeper look into the risk taking brother and what makes him the perfect hero for this climax.
Tae is smart and yet has her own secrets and struggles to overcome. Oh and the clock is ticking for something big, and they need to work together.
And we get some more developments on the relationship between Ranger and Naomi from the previous book.
This book packs the thrill of the action of suspense with all the heartstrings and feels of a well crafted romance.
Loved it!
I recieved a complementary copy of this book from the publisher through Netgally. All thoughts and opinions are my own and honest. I preordered a paperback copy because I will definitely be rereading this series

Thanks to the author, publisher, and Net Galley for the ARC of this book. Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston knows when someone is lying. He may not know the truth, but he sure doesn't trust Tae, the woman who is caring for his ailing father at Sky King Ranch. Behind those beautiful blue eyes, he can tell there is a troubled--and smart--woman.
This was a great book and I have already preordered it for our library.
The third and thrilling conclusion to the Sky King Ranch series, Sundown continues the dangerous story of espionage, terrorism, and a deadly virus.
5 stars
“The world’s peace comes at a price. People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”
I’m so sad to close this series featuring the fraternal Kingston triplets! Not only did Warren write adrenaline-filled action, but she also managed to balance it perfectly with testosterone-filled hunks who weren’t afraid to show their emotional, tender side and their love for God.
While books 1 and 2 focused on Dodge and Ranger, this final book highlights Colt as he struggles to find his place in the world and where he fits in with his family. Warren explores his emotional and spiritual healing and raises the question surrounding God’s thoughts on righteous battle.
I loved the adventure; running from the Russian mafia, a hit out on a doctor of infectious diseases, international terrorists, a blizzard, a downed plane, suicide vests, a deadly virus in the wrong hands, sleeper holds, assassin weapons, and a broken soldier with secrets. As much as I loved the palpitating suspense, I loved the romance. It was just the perfect blend.
A character who needs to be told that no one is beyond God’s love and who also needs to be reminded that the Devil is planting seeds of doubt keeping him from being the person he’s supposed to be is not one you’d normally equate with a Delta Force Operative…but with Warren’s masterful pen, a beautiful soul emerges who touches readers’ hearts. Colt had my heart in the palm of his hand. When he admitted that “he was back to praying instead of feeling like God had abandoned him, or worse…was disappointed in him,” I knew exactly how he felt. Exactly. The balance of a tender, God fearing man mixed with the tough, military training of the U.S. Special Forces really appeals to me. This blend is not often portrayed in Christian fiction.
Advice I’ll take with me into next week: “You don’t have to control every moment, plan every step. Maybe you just say yes to the doors God opens.”
I don’t know how she does it, but Warren produces books that tick off all the boxes for me. She crafts characters who struggle with issues most christians face and zeroes in on our reactions/responses with such authenticity.
I was gifted this copy by Revell and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
The third and thrilling conclusion to the Sky King Ranch series, Sundown continues the dangerous story of espionage, terrorism and a deadly virus.
You’ll need to read this series in series order to make sense of the continuing story. While each book features a new romance, the threads of the mystery weave through each of the three books. Plus, the story of Colt and Tae started back in the previous book.
So far in this series the Kingston brothers have faced many threats. Now they face their biggest challenge. When the silent woman finding refuge in their home reveals her knowledge about a deadly virus that could be used as bio weapon and her role in preventing that, danger isn’t far behind. Tae has already been threatened, kidnapped, and almost strangled. She has survived a plane crash and the Alaskan wilderness. She’s reluctant to rely on Colt for help now. She knows it’s up to her to create a vaccine. Colt knew Tae was hiding something but is surprised at the level of danger that is following her. When Tae leaves, Colt is quick to follow and it’s lucky he does. Colt and Tae work together along with the Kingston brothers and some familiar faces to fend off the threat of a looming terrorist attack.
The threat of a deadly virus, the vaccine and Colt’s reaction to being exposed and resulting health conditions hit pretty close to reality as we continue to fight through Covid, Covid vaccines and reactions to this vaccine, so some people might find the contents of this book confronting, upsetting and a little close to home.
Warren brings her trademark suspense and romance mix to Sundown. Colt and Tae have some great chemistry and it’s perfectly offset against the many, many, many dangerous situations they face. There is no shortage of thrills. Faith and family are also woven in the story. Long time readers of Warren’s books will also recognise some familiar faces form other series.
The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.
Sundown by Susan May Warren nicely ties up the three Kingston’s brothers’ trilogy. With plenty of action, drama, and romance, Warren does not leave her readers’ much room for breathing or taking a break. Sundown is the type of novel that needs to be read in one sitting. Warren surprises the readers with some familiar characters from her previous novels. The romance does round out the story and help develop the characters deeper. Some of my favorite parts of Warren’s recent stories are the third-party character who speaks truth into the characters. The moments of truths dig deep into my heart as well as the characters. Makes me want to think about those words for a little bit longer. The setting and description are nicely handled. Readers will feel like they are in the places and can feel the cold air across their face as Warren details them. Overall, Sundown by Susan May Warren is thrilling way to end a series features three brothers. I recommend all fans of Warren’s writings to pick up this book.
I received a complimentary copy of Sundown by Susan May Warren from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
Cole Kingston has found his lady Love in Dr. Taylor, but like all Kingston‘s he’ll have to fight those out to kill her first. This book was totally action packed and par for the course in this Series and I love all of it. If you’re looking for a action packed romance you need to read this book or any other of the Kingston‘s books in the series although there were a few things Taylor did that weren’t congruent with her being an intelligent woman I seven joyed the book and highly recommend it. What a great book and what a great series. I received this book from Net Galley and the author but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
We finally made it to Colt’s story! We got to see a little bit more of him in the last book but it’s finally his turn to have the spotlight. He definitely has a penchant for danger and risky situations and he didn’t hold back at all. Losing his mom at such a young age and being there when it happened definitely did a number on him and he was still fighting though the lies and trauma all these years later but it was nice to see him finally start to find some healing and actually hear the truth.
Tae was a bit of a struggle for me, she seemed to make a lot of less than smart decisions while also supposedly being a highly intelligent doctor and that was hard to reconcile.
They were cute together though and I was rooting for their love story.
We also got some more of Dodge and Ranger’s stories in this one and though I think I’d have preferred if we just kept to Colt’s story it was still nice to see more of the other Kingston brothers and I enjoyed the moments of them working together as a team.
There was plenty of action in this story to keep the reader engaged throughout and it was nice to get some closure to some overarching story threads!
This wasn’t my favorite of this series but it was a solid conclusion to an enjoyable series!
Sundown is the perfect conclusion to another great series form Susan May Warren. The book stands alone, but I’d still recommend reading the first two. As a reader, I love knowing the backstory of the characters. Strictly speaking, that’s not always necessary (and isn’t in this case), but I think it makes reading so much more fun and adds a different depth when you have ‘history’ with the characters.
As you’d expect in an SMW novel, the action kicks in early and doesn’t stop. Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston knows something isn’t quite right with houseguest Tae. She claims to have survived a plane crash and be on the run from some vey nasty terrorists.
Turns out she’s telling the truth and it’ll take Colt, his brothers and a number of his former military buddies to stop the bad guys. And as plans are made to protect Tae and stop the terrorists, Colt loses his heart to the brilliant scientist with the fate of the world on her shoulders.
The reasons Susan May Warren is an auto-buy for me, are as evident in this book as the previous three series I’ve devoured. There’s nail biting action, electric romance and great camaraderie. This author has brilliantly developed several series and frequently intersects the characters. For me, that’s a complete win. Glimpses of characters I’ve loved before are gold.
So, if you like romantic suspense or maybe adventure romance, then this is an author and a series you need to check out.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher via Netgalley. The fan-girling is all my own.
Another winner from Susan May Warren. Lots of action and poignant moments. Fans of Warren's will enjoy the character and plot crossovers with several other series (though they aren't necessarytonread in irder to read this series).
This book is a thrill ride from beginning to end. The Kingston Brothers are all fierce and loyal to their family and their country. This is mainly Colt's story but Ranger and Dodge are also involved. This is a story of forgiveness and redemption mixed with lots of action and a sprinkling of romance. I really enjoyed this book.
Sundown is the third novel in the Sky King Ranch series by Susan May Warren. It is Colt, the third Kingston brother's, story. Colt has always felt like the misfit in comparison to his other two brothers. He is the troublemaker and the guy who runs into trouble headfirst no matter the cost. Colt finds himself having to protect Tae, a woman he is quickly falling for, when the Russians are coming after her due to her knowledge of a vaccine that she is developing to fight a disease they are wanting to spread in an act of terrorism.
The characters of Tae and Colt are interesting and have great character growth over the course of the novel. They both have demons that they have to let go of before they can fully trust God and each other. I enjoyed being able to check in with the other brothers from the series as well and see more about what's going on with them.
I really love that Susan May Warren has created her own little world in her books and how each series has been connecting to the others and I love seeing past characters show up. Some of the reviews mention that things get a little hard to believe and while this may be true I read fiction to escape reality and don't mind things that probably are too coincidental to happen in the real world.
Overall Sundown is a fantastic romantic suspense novel that is full of action. It is a great conclusion to the series.
Sundown is such a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy about triplet brothers in different branches of the military. Not only do we get to enjoy the interaction of ALL the characters we've grown to love and enjoy throughout the books, but Susan May Warren does not let the action slow down, somehow upping the intensity even while tying up so many story lines and loose threads.
Colt is the last of the brothers to get his story and his chance for redemption. He is drawn to a mysterious woman who claims to have run from Russian spies trying to destroy the world--and only she can stop them. Tae is refreshing and realistic, and her relationship with Colt feels very grounded in reality while still giving us all the feels that romantic suspense must provide. I especially love the dynamic between the triplets as they try to protect their women, resolve their issues, and of course save the world.
After this trilogy, Susan May Warren is most definitely on my radar and I'll be watching for each of her new releases--as well as digging more through her backlist.
This series has been such a fun, unpredictable ride. Colt was such a fantastic character. Flawed, but loveable. His inner dialogue was the best. I loved the man he was, his strength. His wounds, both emotional and physical made him even more endearing. I loved Tae and and her backstory. I loved the unique and relevant plot line Susan worked in with the bigger picture spanning all three books. I love how she has once again connected the these Alaskan boys to her bigger story world. So much fun. Oh and more Range and Noemi - such great development in their story. With cameos from some of my all time Susan May Warren characters, Sundown was the perfect conclusion to this epic series.
This is book 3 in the Sky King Ranch Series, however I believe it is a stand alone book. I have not read book one or two and had no issue following along, I do feel like I missed some history of the Kingston family and probably some good reads, in fact I will probably go back and read them as well.
This book is full of suspense, family, forgiveness, Romance and so much more. I enjoyed getting to know the Kingston brothers. Colt Kingston is the focus of this book, he has so much to forgive himself for. I am assuming we are also introduced to Tae in book 2 but really don't know since I have not read it. Tae must decide if she is going to trust this family..
If you enjoy action packed romance type books you will love this series. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.
Sundown is a very well written romantic suspense. Great plot and character dynamics. A fantastic end to the series. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
Book 3 of Sky King Ranch series by Susan May Warren was a fun ride! Bioterrorism and an ex-Delta soldier meet in an epic clash. Most of this book was an exciting adventure. Some of it was a little predictable. The beginning and ending lifted it to a 4 star rating, the middle felt a little too predictable and some ends tied up a little too neatly for it to feel overly believable but it was a fun read. I would definitely recommend this series for anyone who enjoys Ronie Kendig!
** “Fear makes you focus on the past, or worry about the future, but it distracts you from what you need to do right now.” **
Susan May Warren’s final installment of her Sky King Ranch series “Sundown” starts off with an explosive bang with the Kingston brothers searching for the plane crash mysterious Tae Price survived.
Brothers Colt, Dodge and Ranger attempt to help her find the answers to as why she was kidnapped — an answer that may involve literally saving the world from a global incident. As Tae, a doctor of infectious diseases, works to find a solution, she finds herself drawn to the rebellious Colt, always running into danger and saving the day.
As the brothers work to save the nation and the world, each brother must also overcome personal issues in their lives. Can they all work together to find the solution? And will they survive the journey?
As usual, Warren provides a heart-thumping, toe-curling romantic thriller that will keep the reader invested until the very end. She also is great at developing incredible characters that have very real and very deep flaws, ones that readers can relate to.
She includes several great themes in “Sundown,” like dealing with fear and not letting it get a grip on you; no one is beyond God’s love; God is always with us, no matter the circumstances (“When you’ve come to the end of your strength, God is there”); therefore, we can put our trust in God (“You must trust in God, in his victory. And in his goodness, even in the face of defeat. In fact, it is God’s goodness in us that even desires to fight evil. Without him, we would be helpless”); we must focus on taking the next step; the impact of self blame; say yes to the doors God opens and let God use you how He wants; and bravery isn’t the absence of fear, but doing what you must do despite the fear.
I would suggest “Sundown” not be read as a standalone, as the plot will make much more sense if read as a series.
Those who enjoy Irene Hannon, Lynette Eason and Carrie Stuart Parks will love this story.
Five stars out of five.
