First off, Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I really wanted to love this but it just wasn’t for me! This was very much a slow burn romance. But as much as I love slow burn…this one just was a bit too sluggish. The other two books in the series are great! This one just fell a little short. There were a few things I enjoyed though.

What I did Enjoy:
- Strong female character is always a plus in my book
- Of course, i am a sucker for the holiday setting!
- The wit and snark was on point

I just wish the romance had a bit more chemistry and paced a bit better. This did have it’s cute moments! This book just wasn’t for me. I still will love to future books from the author. 3 stars out of 5.

Not My Favorite.
Cara Delaney is a strong woman on a mission. She will do just about anything to get the promotion she is dreaming of. That includes flying to a foreign country over the holidays to help the king of Eldovia get his finances in check. Matteo Benz has devoted his life to his country and doing anything the throne might need or want. When Matteo and Cara are thrown together and must work together, can they manage their frustrations and attraction?

I was a bit disappointed in this book. It felt like the story was choppy and left much to be desired. In the beginning, I thought Cara was religious and then at the end it got confusing. Also, I don't particularly appreciate how Cara pushed Matteo. It felt like she was forcing him to do things he did not want. I did enjoy that Cara was a strong woman and passionate about her career.

I do not know if I would recommend this book to family and friends.

This starts out with a lot of promise, but the book drags so much and never manages to develop its characters nor convince me of their romance. Especially disappointing given how much I enjoyed Holiday's "Duke, Actually." 2.5 stars.

I received an ARC of, So This is Christmas, by Jenny Holiday. I love Christmas romance novels. An American woman (Cara), is working in a foreign country, when she meets Matteo! Sparks fly wile working together, will their romance last?

Slow burn, but just a bit too slow. I didn't love this book completely, but it had some sweet moments.

I went into reading this book with mixed emotions - I LOVED Jenny Holidays first two royal-christmas books, but I had a hard time imaging a novel around Mr. Benz. 'So This Is Christmas' did not disappoint! I couldn't put it down and finished it in one day. While the other books' characters were almost non-existent, the returning and new characters held their own and the plot moved smoothly. Will probably reread this again within the month.

I have loved the other two books in this series, so I was very excited to read this next story in the world of royal Eldovia. However, this book just didn't hit the mark for me.

I really liked:
* The snark was honest and served a purpose (vs the current trend that being immature is the same as banter)
* The resolution prioritizes the career of the female lead (vs. the trend that all it takes for a career woman to abandon her goals is the right man)
* I really enjoy just being in the world that Holiday has built with this series.

I really didn't like:
* The chemistry, or lack thereof. I get the “opposites attract” and “enemies to lovers” trope, but I just didn't feel it with these two.
* There was a lot of backstory, both from the respective families and in the business exchanges from Cara’s job, but none of it felt…useful?
* The resolution felt too easy and contrived (this is probably related to the point above)

In short, this one fell short of my expectation for Holiday and this series. However, I feel a set up for the next pairing and I will be back to read more. Given how great Holiday’s other books have been, this is hopefully just a one off that didn't do it for me personally.

I usually love Jenny Holiday's books, but this one fell flat for me. Matteo's character felt very cold, and boring to me. Matteo and Cara had no chemistry, and by the time they got together (this is a very slow burn book) I just had no interest in reading more. This was a DNF for me.

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish this book. The vitriolic back and forth between Matteo and Clara right from the start put me off. However I kept going and finally got interested. Ultimately they were perfect for each other.

a little holiday in the spring is just what I needed. this was so cute and such a nice reading break. I actually didn't read many holiday books this past year so it was fun to get into one in may.
