An MMA fighter story that has love, fighting in the ring, training, and an old enemy coming back wanting revenge, because he ended up in prison for underground fighting while the person he thought was his partner, became a success. Mainly the story is about the grown children who are fighting but now this man Nikoli wants revenge. The book focuses on Emmy and Carter but you also get introduced to all of the characters and the back story. I will say at times the back and forth between to past and present was a little too much for me but that is just me I am sure for others it will be okay. Liked the characters.
Second chance feels the minute I started this book. Emma and Carter-he will do anything to get her and of course she falls immediately. Action packed and drama filled with lots of levels of spice. I really liked the author's writing.
Book review :
CRAVING THE FIGHT is the first instalment in LP Dover’s contemporary adult GLOVES OFF-NEXT GENERATION erotic, MMA romance series-a spin off. The story follows a rekindled romance with a captivating storyline to hook the reader from the very start.
This is a story of family and second chances; history and vengeance; secrets and lies, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is seductive and steamy; the characters are determined, desperate and impassioned
The story revolves around UFC champion Carter Reynolds, son of Matt Reynolds, and model Emma Jameson’s, daughter of Ryley Jameson in the story line. Emma and Carter grew up together and both from families of fighters. Each went their own way as adults but a mystery from the past brings them together. An old spark reignites the flame between them and grows stronger as they work together to save their families.
Emma enters the lion's den in quest of saving her family. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Carter and Emma, and the potential fall-out as the past demands revenge, using the next generation in his quest for power.
The relationship between Carter and Emma is one of second chances; a rebuilding romance between two people torn apart by fame and life. Emma was desperate to avoid the man she once loved but at the same time craved the thrill of what was. Carter vows to protect Emma the only way he knows how, and the vow is about to place them in the middle of a feud where not everyone survives. The sex scenes are intimate and provocative.
The author has well penned the scenes and the character are well plotted. Though i have not read the previous books of the series but i want to read now all the books of the series.
I am thankful to netgalley and the publisher for gifting me this book in return of an honest review. I loved reading this book and would recommend this book to all.
Happy Reading!
This is my first time reading a book by this author and I loved it... I love how strong Emma is and how Carter is so protective of her.... A really good book overall....
I love a good Next Gen series, and I have been so excited for this one. An electric connection between Carter and Emma as well as the second chance storyline with dark elements will keep you engrossed right til the very end.
A great start to a spin off, next generation series. Carter and Emma’s chemistry is electric. This second chance storyline with a dark element will captivate you from the beginning to the end.
I love a good fighter romance and this one did not disappoint. The spice was nicely sprinkled in with a great plot.

I enjoyed the dual POV. We get both Carter and Emma’s thoughts and feelings. I really liked the small dark turn this book took. I wasn’t expecting it but it was welcomed with open arms!
There is also a lot of insight into the others in the group. I look forward to reading more about them in books to come! This author also has a series out about the parents of the group which looks like a great read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Books by L.P. Dover LLC for this eARC to read and review!
Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for giving me this eARC to review.
I DNF'd this book because it felt like a lot of the information that should have flowed naturally was more of an info dump which I didn't mind at first but almost every character had an info dump and it distracted me so much from the story.
My first L.P. Dover experience was a good one! I was worried about starting off with a story that had several previous books (with different characters, but still). I was pleasantly surprised that while the first few pages were filled with backstory and character introduction, that I was able to follow along just fine. The combination of the long lost love troupe with the bad guy fighter and danger was very well done. There was ONE VERY SMALL thing that kept throwing me for a loop, though. Not ONCE in the entire book was birth control mentioned. I know, I know, very minor detail. But a simple sentence of "Thank God I stayed on birth control" or "he took the protection out of his wallet." Just something! Especially since our hero is a bit of a man whore. All that to say, I can't wait for the next book!
This is a really powerful read. Carter and Emma and even their siblings and cousins are thrust into a situation that is a thing of nightmares. While the story of Carter and Emma ends, the whole story didn’t end there. I can’t wait for more!! 5 stars!
CRAVING THE FIGHT is the first instalment in LP Dover’s contemporary adult GLOVES OFF-NEXT GENERATION erotic, MMA romance series-a spin off from the author’s GLOVES OFF series focusing on the ‘next generation’ -the children- of the characters introduced in the original series. This is UFC champion Carter Reynolds, son of Matt Reynolds, and model Emma Jameson’s, daughter of Ryley Jameson story line.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Carter and Emma) CRAVING THE FIGHT follows the rekindling romance and relationship between UFC champion Carter Reynolds, and model Emma Jameson. Emma Jameson’s family has a dark past, and the past is about to come full circle when Emma receives a special delivery threatening her family and the people she loves. Leaving New York to return to her hometown in California, Emma reaches out to her brothers and sisters while struggling to stay away from Carter Reynolds, the man she once loved. In an effort to protect her parents, Emma is about to enter the proverbial lion’s den, a lion that is taking aim at our story line hero. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Carter and Emma, and the potential fall-out as the past demands revenge, using the next generation in his quest for power.
The relationship between Carter and Emma is one of second chances; a rebuilding romance between two people torn apart by fame and life. Emma was desperate to avoid the man she once loved but at the same time craved the thrill of the what was. Carter vows to protect Emma the only way he knows how, and the vow is about to place them in the middle of a feud where not everyone survives. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including most of the Reynolds and Jameson siblings, as well as the return of Matt Reynolds, Tyler Rushing and his son Kane, and Emma’s sister Reagan. The requisite evil has many faces including the involvement of the Russian mob.
CRAVING THE FIGHT is a story of family and second chances; history and vengeance; secrets and lies, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is seductive and steamy; the characters are determined, desperate and impassioned. CRAVING THE FIGHT ends on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Second time can be forever?
In the first book in the Gloves off second generation series we get Carter and Emma’s story. Yikes this book had so much to unpack at times I wasn’t sure what way was up. You’ll get secrets revealed, threats and loyalty that you expect from the offspring from the original Gloves Off family.
The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.
Authors Blurb: Fame. Money. Status. An infinite number of women standing ringside in hopes of one night with him. These are all the things Carter Reynolds loves about being MMA royalty. As a UFC Heavyweight champion, and the son of the illustrious Matt Reynolds, Carter thinks he has everything he could ever want.
Until he comes face to face with Emma Jameson the one who got away. The pair are bonded by a secret from their past, one that none in their inner circle can ever know about…
Thanks to her father, Emma is no stranger to the MMA world. UFC Middleweight champion, Ryley Jameson, is known far and wide for his scandalous antics in and out of the ring. His fame put her in the spotlight at a very early age. It even led to her lucrative modeling career and the opportunity for her to travel the world. Now Emma is back with the family of fighters she left behind and quickly discovers a darkness that has wriggled its way into the MMA fold.
Someone demands retribution for the sins of the past, and they’ve chosen to make Emma their first target. Determined to keep her safe, Carter will do whatever it takes to protect her, even if that means putting his life on the line.
As hidden truths are revealed, Carter and Emma find that no one in their circle is safe… and this is only the beginning.
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
I enjoyed the second generation story. Carter and Emma were amazing characters. I enjoyed the banter in the story but found that the connection between Emma and Carter felt somewhat forced at times.
Overall, this was a solid story. I was in the headspace for a fighter romance and this definitely hit the spot. 3.5 stars!
Wow! A totally new author to me and I will most definitely be reading more of her works. Despite the fact this is second generation to an existing series, I never really felt like I was missing critical pieces of a complex puzzle. There was a rather detailed set up piece over the first few chapters and then the story went full speed ahead in the best way.
Carter and Emma are #couplegoals and just fit so well together. The journey from avoiding each other to craving each other just seamlessly flowed off the pages and add in little details about their careers, the excellent interactions amongst the wider connected families and you have the makings of a fantastic series.
I’m really really looking forward to the next book in this series.
Craving the Fight is the next generation series, from L.P Dover's Glove Off Series. It isn't necessary to read the Glove Off Series prior to this book (and series), but I do feel like you would enjoy it more if you do.
Carter is a MMA fighter wanting to slow down. Emma has a scare and heads home to talk to her brothers and sisters. She is having tons of second thoughts when a stranger comes to talk to her. Carter finds out she’s home and want her back and will fight to the death to get her.
I enjoyed this book and can't wait for more in this series.
This book is really well done - powerful characters with depth and grit and passion, a suspenseful storyline with action and intrigue, and an underlying love story of undeniable chemistry. While some parts are predictable, it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the story. A great beach read!
Thank you to NetGalley for the e-ARC!
Craving the Fight is about two MCs; Emma and Carter. Emma is a model out in New York and Carter is a fighter based out of California.
Emma grew up in California with Carter (there is some past heat here), her brother and a whole boatload of other kids (there’s even a family tree at the beginning of the book). The story starts off with Emma relaxing in her New York apartment when her roommate comes home and gives her the mail. And ominous letter lays inside the stack and Emma decides to head home to California to have her family help decipher it.
Carter starts off winning a title fight against one of the family tree kids. He finishes the night taking a random fan in to the locker room to “celebrate” his win. At first glance, Carter seems kind of like a hoe. But is he?
Will they figure out who sent Emma the letter? Will Emma and Carter get back together?
The downfalls to this book is that we definitely could’ve had a conclusion within the few hundred pages. However, we are left with a slight cliff hanger? It was a little confusing at the end, but still a worthy binge read!
4.5⭐
Craving the Fight returns readers to the Gloves Off Series with the next generation ready to pick up the mantle having been raised by MMA royalty. These guys and girls know how to love hard and fight and will go to any lengths to keep those they love safe.
And kicking off this new series is Carter Reynolds the son of UFC Heavyweight Champ Matt and Emma Jameson whose own dad was once a UFC Champ himself. But he also had a brush with the dark side and now an old adversary is back ready to seek revenge on the children of those who helped put him in jail.
So, when Carter hears Emma has been targeted, he steps up to protect the only woman he has always loved. But the pair will have to do things they never imagined to stay together and survive. Not to mention keep their families and those closest to them safe.
And with a fast-paced storyline and plenty of heat this was a fabulous introduction to the new generation, and whilst I missed the likes of Matt, Kyle, Camden, Gabriella, etc. I did enjoy getting to know the new kids on the block and I can't wait to see what Ms Dover has in store for them next.
Would happily recommend.
Love the cover but I didn’t feel like this book did well as a stand alone. The first part of the book hinted to a previous generation of fighters and fight to the death ring. I had no previous knowledge of the series so it was a bit difficult to get into this book. Has an elephant in the room feel where everyone knows what is going on but you.
Oh my goodness!! Ugh!! I don't think I can wait for the next book!!! This series is going to be so freaking good!! I just can't wait!! This book was everything!!! It had high suspense, intrigue, tons of heart pounding moments, mafia, and hot hot MMA guys!! The next generation is all that!! This book set my Kindle on fiya! The only thing I didn't like was its kind of a cliffhanger, not a bad one but still is one and I hate cliffys !! But the book was so so good I'm just going to be not patiently waiting for the next lol I highly highly recommend reading this book! It was so worth reading! Can't wait for more! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me! A big thank you to L.P. Dover for your amazing words! This book was awesome!
