I so wanted to love this book. It's enemies to lovers - work place romance and I LOVEEEE that trope. The premise was a perfect set up for all of the tension that it did not deliver on.
The couple had zero chemistry together, MC was all wishy-washy with the hot and cold behavior. She was giving me a whiplash from it. I get that she lost the job to him but HELLO SINCE WHEN IS THE EMPLOYEE THE ONE WHO DECIDES.
The thing I liked was the friendships that we saw build.
But overall the book was a major collection of things I had issues with
( believing the sleazy guy that you said you don't trust at all was the major pain in my head).
It just read majorly immature and disconnected.

Thank you to the publisher for giving me the chance to read a copy of this book. To start off with, I absolutely loved the cover, which is what drew me to the book in the first place. Not only did I like the fact that Tully and Dawson were of different races, but I also liked that she was plus size and he was covered in tattoos. There were some things I enjoyed about this book, and other things that I didn't. I don't like when the characters don't communicate what they are thinking and feeling. For example, it bothered me that Dawson didn't tell Tully why she didn't like him, and it bothered me that she disliked him for no real reason. I also thought too much of the story focused on their little team building getaway. I would have liked to see more of Tully and Dawson's relationship in the "real world" as they dealt with different things. I thought Tully was very sweet to Dawson, especially when she was facing insecurities about her body. Although, I wasn't necessarily a fan of how he called her "Legs," it seems kind of objectifying for him to call her a body part, even if he was attracted to them. I would have liked to see Tully's history as a pro hockey player played up a little more. Overall, I thought this book had a lot of potential, but it did kind of fall flat for me. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. 3/5 stars
*4.5
This was a fun small town romance and I really enjoyed it. I'm always a fan of fast burns and this one did not disappoint. I do think that the bet part was not necessary but I enjoyed the groveling Tully attempted to do. The ending was super cute and I'm very excited for the next two books.
I received an arc through netgalley.
Tinkering with Love is an insta romance between two enemies in a small town
.
Dawson Shay left her life behind in San Francisco, after breaking up with her boyfriend she got a great job offer as a manager at a small town motorcycle shop but upon arrival finds her position handed over to the former pro player and local hero Tully Faulkner
.
Trying not to fall for the situation, she agrees to be the manager of the added car shop and make the best of the situation, but things get difficult when she finally meets Tully Faulkner and despite being full of himself, the attraction and chemistry between the two forces them not to be so far from each other, turning the week of teamwork into a battle of wills
.
It's an easy and entertaining read between a strong and determined heroine who must break through various barriers to find her home. Tully didn't really add much to the story, at times he was contradictory and tried to get Dawson's attention in some wrong ways but it was a good end for both
.
I really liked the small town and its secondary characters, they made me want to know what story Aliyah Burke is preparing for them

Thanks to Aliyah Burke and Entangled Publishing LLC for give me this great book in exchange for my honest opinion
First, I'd like to thank NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to receive an early copy in exchange for an honest review on Tinkering with Love.
With that said, this book just wasn't "it" for me. I loved the idea behind a girl getting her dream job and being able to pick up and go for it. I felt for her when she found someone else in her position once she arrived.
I just felt that there was something lacking. I loved seeing a curvy girl featured. I love that she didn't do something "girly" or stereotypical. I felt that Tully wasn't the character I built up in my head.
It was cute, it was sweet - but it just wasn't for me.
Tinkering with Love🏍
✏️First Line: “It’s mandatory.”
First off, Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own.
Honest Review here we go…. where to start. I didn’t care for this one, Im sad that it missed the mark for me. I went into Tinkering with Love with high expectations.
Dawson accepts her dream job across the country, rebuilding motorcycles, only to arrive and discover that someone else has gotten the position she came for.
Now, the entire company is off to a team building wilderness retreat and she’s stuck with Tully, the bearded, tattooed hot guy who stole her job.
One thing I did love? The cover. I love seeing a curvy girl on the front pages of books.
What I didn’t like? Tully falls WAY too freaking fast in this one. The story itself sounds promising and hilarious but I found it to be choppy and a whole lot of back and forth “I hate you, I love you”. I rolled my eyes…a lot. I also did not care for he nickname he has for her in this book. Their relationship as a whole was just not something I enjoyed watching unfold.
This wasn’t the romcom/enemy to lovers I was hoping it would be. I am however curious to see what book two of the Rock Falls series holds.

This story in theory should have been a great read. Unfortunately I did not finish. I love enemies to lovers and the grumpy sunshine trope but this seemed really forced.
I did not enjoy the dialogue between characters which came across as overdone and unrealistic.
The plot was going really well, but I found it hard to keep up with Tully's Insta love for Dawson. It all happened really quickly.
I just didn't gel with this style of writing, but that's not to say that others won't.
hi, thanks so much for giving me the chance to read an early copy of this.
unfortunately, i disliked this book and didn’t end up finishing it. my full review will be in the link.
Tinkering With Love
Tinkering with Love is a Funny romance with grumpy/ Sunshine there the woman is the Grump. It is also an interracial couple with a plus size woman. This book also included tropes such as insta love, close proximity, work place romance, small town, and enemies to lovers. I fully enjoyed this story and fell in love with not only Tully and Dawson, but all of their friends as well. I loved Mr. Harrellssen more than I should have. Thank you NETGALLEY and Entangled Publishing for the ARC.

This book had a lot of potential. It is enemies-ish to lovers; rivals at work, grumpy/sunshine.
I loved a female mechanic.she is great at her job and she knows it. However, she’s mad at the hero for being given the job she wanted. He didn’t take it from her, it’s a merger. Her inability to let that go was irritating. She also blows hot and cold a lot.
The hero is great I’m a lot of ways. However, he needs to dial it back a couple notches. He’s on the line of love bombing. Too much too fast.
Not a bad read but not what I was hoping it would be either.
This won me over in the end, but I really struggled with the hero at times. Tully had good intentions, but his initial flirting and complete infatuation towards Dawson was too aggressive for me. It made me uncomfortable.
It's an enemies-to-lovers romance, but more one-sided with Dawson holding a grudge against Tully for presumably stealing her position as manager of a motorcycle shop. Dawson was quite petty, especially with her refusing to communicate with Tully, but I still liked her a lot. With a fiery personality and dreams of opening a custom repair shop, I simply loved her entire vibe.
Following two businesses joining as one, much of the story revolves around team-building activities in the wilderness. And it was easily my favourite part. It was so fun!
Overall this had a lot of fantastic elements, including a great small-town setting and a funny crotchety side character. If it wasn't for the intense insta-love, I would have enjoyed this a lot more.
Sparks fly when Dawson is forced to go on a team-building retreat with Tully, the man who stole her job. Although Dawson is focussed on trying to avoid him, he is completely enamoured with her. It’s a battle of the wills; can Tully use his charm to break down the walls around Dawson’s ice-cold heart, or will Dawson show everyone that he isn’t the Hometown Hero that they think he is?
Enemies-to-lovers has to be my favourite trope ever so I was excited to read this book. Then came the fact that it featured an interracial couple and I knew I had to read it! Maybe I set my expectations too high but I was a bit disappointed…
I thing I absolutely CANNOT STAND in romance books is the idea of insta-love. As soon as Tully set his sights on Dawson, it didn’t matter that she was intent on being rude to him, he decided that she was the woman who he was going to spend the rest of his life with... And apparently two random individuals later in the book who met them for all of 2 minutes agreed that they were destined for each other. Moreover, I like to think that books featuring interracial relationships should have some (even brief) discussion around cultural differences. Unfortunately this didn’t happen in the novel. Consequently these points just made the book feel unrealistic and superficial much like the 2D characters themselves.
However, the writing itself was enjoyable and it was definitely a light-hearted read that didn’t require a lot of brain-power so I got through it quite quickly.
Read: for an easy romance featuring an interracial couple with an enemies-to-lovers trope in a workplace 🔧
NB: Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for giving me an ARC of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
At first I wasn't sure about this book, I found the writing style wasn't my usual and struggled to get into it.
However! Once the story got going I was hooked!
I loved the tension and developing relationship between Dawson and Tully and the friendships with the other members of the town.
A solid 4*
This was cute and entertaining and a quick read. It was half enemies to lovers, half Insta love. The Insta love part was certainly instant and a bit hard to believe. I enjoyed this but found myself confused a lot when POV, time, or location would change in the middle of chapter with no warning.
not me going around telling my friends about this book. All in for the romance damn i love their story it was amazing .People be like you cant fall inn love with a book guess what i just did!..thank you to the author and her wonderful team ..i love this book guys

Disappointing.
I wanted so much more from this book.
Dawson Shay has a dream of being a rebuilding motorcycle. She is ecstatic when she receives a job offer and moves across the country to take the job. Then she finds out the position she dreams of was taken by someone else. A very handsome someone else. And now she is stuck at the company's wilderness retreat with the man she hates.
I was very disappointed in this book. The cover and description were exciting but the actual book was not as intriguing. Let's start off with the good things. I loved the diverse characters and body types. Also, I am a sucker for the enemies-to-lovers trope. Now the bad. so much sexual content! It was unnecessary and too much. As the frequent language was a bit much. I felt the book was better with them toned down a good bit. I would not recommend this book without a strong warning.
To start off, thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book! It was a fun read, it had enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine trope and overall an insta love. Which I like, but I understand if some don’t. The romance was cute and I enjoyed the plot. The characters I loved, even the side ones. In all, this was really good. 4/5. Again thank you to Netgalley!
I had heard a lot about this release, fell in love with the description and the sweet cover. There are good ideas here, but for me the book felt like it needing some editing and direction. There are many incomplete sentences/odd sentence structure that made it so the story had no flow. Tully, our hero, falls in love instantly with our heroine Dawson. Dramatic insta-love. There’s no real tension, mostly just bickering. The conflict primarily revolves around a lack of communication which made it feel like a very “new adult” type story. Loved the ideas but this book wasn’t for me. Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the eARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Clunky sentences and overall felt unpolished even for an early copy. the premise was promising but overall I was not kept engaged in the story and did not finish.
A super cute and quick read, great for an afternoon. The characters are adorable. It’s a pretty typical romcom style story, but we love a bearded tattooed hottie over here, so points for that. We also love bad ass women who don’t take shit and that’s what we get with this one!
