A Lot Like Forever is the third book in the Blue Moon Bay trilogy by Jennifer Snow. This is a drama-ridden, angst-filled romance story. The plot includes elements of a lack of communication and omitting information to “save” someone else. Readers tend to have strong feelings, one way or another about these tropes, so be forewarned. These issues aside, A Lot Like Forever covers some heavier topics and has a sweet, enduring romance.

Whitney, the main female character, is adopted and likes to control her circumstances as much as possible. This poses a problem with her longtime engagement to her fiancé Trent, since she keeps procrastinating the plans due to uncertainty from her past and a potential inherited disease in her future. Her lack of control spirals into fear of losing her high pressure marketing job, her fiancé, and her forecasted future. Her fear plays out as indecision and secrecy, neither of which are good for a relationship.

This story is a quick read and will be a hit for those who enjoy small town, tension-building romances. It features close-knit friendships, the example of persevering through hardships and a potential happily ever after, though an epilogue would have been an appreciated addition. This story is a bit different from the previous two books in the series, but one many will still enjoy, nonetheless.

Sweet romance about overcoming challenges

Trent and Whitney's storybook romance hits a huge snag when she discovers something about herself that she believes ruins her chances of a HEA with Trent. Trent knows something is causing her to stall their wedding plans, but he doesn't know how to get her to talk to him about it.

This story is told in alternating POV and covers both their relationship history - from the beginning - with details of their current struggles interspersed. Chapter headings help you keep track of whether you're reading about "then" or "now" until eventually their history catches up to the present.

There's also a secret from Trent's past that seemingly came out of nowhere, but it did add a much-needed jolt of perspective and somewhat resolved one of the issues Whitney was concerned about.

I loved the ongoing camaraderie with Whitney's BFFs and their guys from the earlier books, and I loved the way their HEA was extraordinarily inclusive. It's a terrific story from start to finish, and I highly recommend it for anyone who loves contemporary romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I like Jennifer Snow’s novels. I like the town of Blue Moon Bay and its residents. I had a couple of issues with the main characters in A Lot Like Forever. First, I totally disagreed with the secret Whitney keeps from Trent. She makes a lousy decision, thinking she’s giving him a break when, in my opinion, she should ,have been upfront with him much much sooner.
Trent a slow makes a huge decision in the book and tells Whitney he’s executing it, leaving her about a nanosecond to decide.
There are major life changes in this book that need to be dealt with thoroughly and not a quick ok let’s do it.
Maybe I’m overthinking it but actually the two are meant for each other in the way they don’t communicate.

A Lot Like Forever is the third book in the Blue Moon Bay series. This is the first book I've read by the author.
The story is a different type of romance, the main characters are already in a committed relationship. The story is told from both perspectives and goes back through key time periods of their relationship through and back to present time. Trent is the supportive, hard working owner of the local bar. He's almost too likable and you will likely want to scream at Whitney more than once while reading this book. They are engaged and have been tougher for seven years, but she's dragging her feet about finalizing plans for their wedding. Whitney is dealing with stress from work and hiding things from everyone in her life. She was really hard to like because not only was she lying to the person she's supposed to love the most, she's kinda self absorbed thinking she's the only one that can do things. So if you can get past her issues of having to control everything and not taking care of herself, then you might just enjoy the book.

This was a good story. Whitney was pretty much a workaholic. She had been engaged for quite awhile but couldn't make the final commitment. After 7 years, Trent was more than frustrated. Whitney s hiding her medical condition from Trent but in truth she is also hiding it from herself. This was an emotional story. They both loved each other, but other issues keptt getting in the way. Her mother's health was also heartbreaking. Scott is an interesting character that I think Whitney completely misunderstands. She's pretty sure he is after her job so she just keeps working harder and harder. A little better communicaition bwtween everyone would have helped alot, but they all finally learn what is important

I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

More drama than the first two books. Trent and Whitney have been together for 7 years and engaged for a lot of that. She refuses to move forward with wedding planning, but he is super patient and totally in love with her. Parts of the book are flashbacks to earlier times in their relationship.
I just couldnt get into this story, but I did keep reading to see where it went. Trent seems like an amazing guy, too good to be true, and Whitney would rather be putting in grueling overtime hours at work. There were quite a few plot points I felt were excessive in terms of adding to the conflict. And the epilogue felt cheesy to me.

Whitney is always in control, at least that's what her friends and fiance are supposed to believe. The truth is too much for her to bare so she just doesn't. Instead she spends her time trying to keep her job away from the mayors son. She is the head of marketing but she feels as if she doesn't work her butt off, her co-worker will end up in the spotlight.
Trent is trying to get Whitney to set a date for their wedding. They've been together for seven years but in the last year, he feels like she isn't interested in a future with him. He doesn't know what to do to keep her.
This fast paced, small town romance is the perfect cozy reading material. I look forward to more books by this author.

Awww, really sweet book! 3.5 stars

First, this is part of a series, but I hadn't read the others...was it a problem? Heck no! I was able to dive right in and get acquainted with everyone in Blue Moon Bay! The main characters are Trent and Whitney, who have been together for several years and are engaged. Whitney is a Type A workaholic through and through, so when she is told by her doctor that she is carrying a debilitating disease, what does she do? Get help? Go on meds? Nope, she ignores it as best she can and keeps it a secret.

Of course that was the totally wrong thing to do, causing insecurities between her and Trent. He knows something is wrong but she won't tell him. Trent also has some secrets of his own, one he knows and the other he finds out later in the book, but he's not an open book either. Whitney's friends support her unconditionally and just want the best for her and Trent.

I enjoyed the book, but it was a bit frustrating when Whitney continually refuses help...with work, with caring for her Mom, and with her health. Yes, she's Type A, but she also acts somewhat immature. If you can get past that, I think you'll enjoy this book. I'm looking forward to the next in the series!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Epic Angst Filled Romance. This is one of those more divisive romances where you're either going to see it as truly epic and one of the best ever for just everything that the couple has to overcome... or you're going to hate it because most of the issues could have been resolved in about two seconds if one or both halves of the couple had simply let go of their pride for a few minutes and had an open and vulnerable conversation with their partner. Obviously, I learn more towards the former than the latter. I also really appreciated the flashbacks to "then", when the couple first began dating through when they first got engaged. This is where the real romance of the story was, particularly as they were both being so stubborn and angsty in the current timeline, and it worked quite well with most chapters ending in this time period before coming back to the current timeline to start the next chapter. Even the ending grand gesture was excellent and called back to a part of both then and current, with a dose of solving a major issue between the couple thrown in. Overall an excellent book and very much recommended.

I would like the thank Netgalley, Entangled Publishing and Jennifer Snow for the E ARC of this book.
Whitney has everything under control but does she really? Her job is busy and she is giving it all she has, but will her work come at the expense of her relationship with her fiancé and friends?
Trent loves Whitney and wants nothing more than to set the date for their wedding, get married and have children, why won’t Whitney even discuss the wedding? What is she hiding or not telling him?
When her life spirals out of control, can Whitney confide in her friends? Will she realise that friends and family are really important and will be there for you no matter what?
To begin with Whitney annoyed me but as her story was revealed I could understand why she was reacting the way she was. I loved seeing her growth and development throughout the book. Her friends and Trent were so loving and caring that you hoped that she would realise what she had and appreciate all they were willing to do for her.
A book about friendship and love. One that I would recommend.

A Lot Like Forever is such an emotional read. I loved this one so much. Your heart goes out to Whitney from the very start as she faces the challenging road ahead. You feel how torn she is with how to handle her illness and juggling her friendships, relationship and work life. Trent is lovely. You can feel how much he loves Whitney and tries everything he can to hold onto that love. There are a few surprises along the way that make you question is love is this love strong enough survive. This is such an emotional ride that will own you heart and soul. This is such a beautiful moving read that you will not be able to put down. I adore everything about Whitney and Trent. I could not get enough of this one. You need to one click this one and go on this journey with Whitney and Trent today.

I really enjoyed A Lot Like Christmas and was looking forward to the 3rd book of this series. This book did not work for me, the whole story is about lack of communication. I was so annoyed with Whitney and being so secretive. For a couple that is so in love, they drove me nuts. I wanted to DNF the story but was curious what her big secret was. Once I found out, I was even more annoyed. It is totally something that she should have shared with Trent.

Thank you to the publisher for ARC of this.

I really enjoyed the first two books in the series. It was a nice read. There's plenty of drama in this story and it's a little darker than the others. The timeline does move around from now and then but it's easy to follow along. It was a good book just a little different from the other books.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. There were a lot of elements woven into it, which made it interesting. But it felt like a lopsided relationship. I know Whitney was dealing with a lot on her plate, but Trent was always giving more to the relationship than she was. She really let her issues get in her way, way too often.

And while we're told all of the craziness that has been her life for the past year, that doesn't explain the prior six years she'd been engaged to Trent. Seven years in, and they still didn't have a wedding date set, which should have raised all sorts of red flags for everyone involved.

I'm never a huge fan of graphic sex in the romance stories I read, so that detracted a bit from my enjoyment of the story too. Yes, we all know how sex works. I don't need a play-by-play in my entertainment.

That said, I did enjoy how everyone pulled together at the end. I'm always a fan of HEAs.

Thanks to Jennifer Snow, Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

This is a Romance, and this is the third book in the Blue Moon Bay series. This book is summed up by just saying "Just talk to each other". I just wanted to put all the characters in this book in one room and yell just talk to each other please because I am sick of hearing all your whining. This whole book is you hearing whining while none of the characters talked to each other about anything important. I do not know why I did not just DNF this book. The ending was the only good thing that happened in this book. I really hate when characters do not talk to each other can you tell...LOL. Honestly, this book was boring and one big headache. I wanted so much more from this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

I’ve loved this entire series and enjoyed reading the final story of the 3 friends Sarah, Jess and Whitney . This story was about Whitney and her struggles to maintain a fast paced career, a relationship with her love Trent, maintaining friendships, being responsible for her moms care and battling a big health scare. Things come to a head for her when she lands herself in hospital and has to face everything she has either pushed away or ignored.

I enjoyed this book a tiny bit less than the previous two in series. I found this one at times a bit wordy or a bit too much explaining. I also found the ending a bit rushed. That being said I can’t imagine reading the first two and not reading this one.

I voluntarily received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and all opinions are my own.

I would recommend this series to my friends and family and my book clubs

Whitney and Trent are meant to be together. After seven years of relationship he is ready to marriage and start a family but Whitney is keeping a secret that can shatter all their dreams. Will they be strong together or will they drift apart? An emotional sorry about, love, friendship, family and all that matters in life.

This is compelling and well written but oy vey the angst. Whitney Carlisle and Trent Connolly are engaged and have been together for seven years. Trent owns a couple of bars and wants to continue to expand his business. He loves Whitney and can’t understand why she’s hesitant to start planning the wedding. Whitney has the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is marketing director for the town of Blue Moon Bay and loves her job. She’s has a new assistant who is better educated and she thinks he wants her job. She also has a mother in a care center who is dependent upon her. Besides being overworked and stressed she is facing medical issues of her own. She loves Trent but everything is overwhelming.

Sometimes with dramatic books I may skim to move things along. But not this one, I read every word. Trent is a yummy, loving cinnamon roll of a partner. Whitney is carrying big burdens but she makes it worse for herself by not talking to her friends or being honest with Trent. My daughter calls these types of books tragedy porn with just one thing after another. Yet I kept rooting for them.

I did not like the ending. I felt it was rushed and that the author wanted to finish things up and give a potential HEA. I thought Trent’s grand gesture was wildly out of place. She is barely out of the hospital, they haven’t had a conversation and he’s forcing her to choose him and his future parenting plan without a discussion. I wouldn’t have minded if he’d suggested it as a future option but saying he was doing it regardless was too much. Also I felt it ignored the elephant in the room of what happens with Angel’s son and how would he feel about it. Even with all the angst I was in the four star range but the ending lowered it for me. I also didn’t love the then/now format of the story either.

This is the third in the Blue Moon Bay series. The author says each is a stand alone but both the main couples from the previous books appear in this one. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
