Scott & Campbell had a fun book. This was a new author, for me. I got a copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.

Wow, I absolutely LOVED this book! Campbell and Scott are goals, especially for us book worms. 😍

Campbell is trying to get her life back together and that starts with finishing school, even if she is older than everyone else (28). She’s not too fond of her American Lit class but her professor is another story. Scott never thought he would fall for a student but then again, he never expected to meet her. If only it was under different circumstances. He knows he needs to steer clear. Besides, his five year old daughter keeps him on his toes.

Can I read this again for the first time?! I adored their story and loved how it came to life. Even Campbell’s past. The writing is so beautiful that I could not put it down, I read it in one sitting. I wish there was more! Campbell and Scott are amazing together and I love that they work through everything without argument. You can really feel their emotion and connection, and I feel in love with them. This was a true work of art! I will definitely be looking into this author for more. Highly recommend!

Campbell Grey has been running from her former life. The only people who know where she is are her mother and brother. She needed a fresh start to escape her crazy ex-husband. She thought Denver would be the perfect place to get lost. She loves her life here. She works at a floral shop and has amazing bosses and she is gone back to college to finish her degree. Her first class is an American Literature class and the professor is super hot. They have great discussions and get along well.

Scott Mayhew is a professor who teaches American Literature. In one of his classes, there is woman with striking blue eyes. She is different from the other students in his class. She is a little older and wiser and they have great discussions about literature, and so much more. Even though, he knows he shouldn't, he can't resist her. But danger is lurking and can he risk his young daughter's safety for a woman he barely knows? Or could this be the ONE he has been waiting on forever?

I liked this story very much. I am not a fan of the foul language or descriptive sex scenes but the story was great. I loved that while Campbell felt she was alone in Denver, she really wasn't. When she needed people to come to her rescue, they were there. She had built a "family" in Denver, too.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

ARC Review.
Book: The Time We Met
Author: Christine Miles
Rating: 4,5 stars

Positive thoughts:
This book was a page turner for me, I love a book where you feel the characters attraction and chemistry for one another. It was a forbidden love so you feel their pain and I love that. You keep rooting for them and telling them to forget about everything and go for it. But so much is at stake they can't. I love a book that makes me suffer with the characters.
I also liked that the age gap between professor and student wasn't big, normally it's a female student barely old enough to be an adult getting involved with a much older teacher. But in this book they are both adults and very mature.

Negative thoughts::
I was expecting an ending with a bit more action, when they caught the bad guy (since the new detective was brought into the scene). I got the impression he was locked up and what happened didn't seem like something to be kept locked up for a long time. I don't know, I guess I expected more pizazz.

Overall:
I really enjoyed the story, well written. I was relieved it was a mature romance and not some young silly student in love with her professor. It’s a great book to read in front of the fireplace or on a cold winter day.

Romance: 5/5
Spice: 3/5
Suspense: 3/5
Humour: 2/5
Foul language: 1/5
made me cry: no

Tropes:
- professor/student
- swoony
- forbidden romance
- dark past
- single dad
- heroine on the run

Triggers:
- Ugly divorce
- obsessive ex-husband
- miscarriage

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book! 🦋

That was such a quick read! I literally did not see the pages turn. In this story, In this story, we follow Campbell, a 28-year-old florist who decides to go back to college, and Scott, a single-dad who also happens to be Campbell's new literature teacher. They immediately connect but they both know how dangerous that can be. I enjoyed this book for the most part, the story was intriguing, I connected with the characters and I really liked the setting of the story, i loved the flowershop, the college, the winter and snow vibes, the single dad trope. However, I think my biggest issue with the book was the repetitions! I feel like a lot of sentences and ideas were repeated throughout the entire book either in inner monologue or in dialogue! Other than that, i really enjoyed this and would definitely recommend if you want a fast-paced addictive romance!

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Christine Miles’ The Time We Met is a cute, yet emotionally tense novel that follows twenty-eight year old florist Campbell Grey as she tries—and succeeds in!—rebuilding her life after escaping an abusive marriage one year prior. When she goes back to school, she’s forced to study American Literature, but the hot substitute teacher—thirty year old Scott Mayhew—that she finds herself falling in love with makes it so much better.

Why do I mention their age? Usually, the age gap in these student-teacher relationships are wide, so it’s not only relieving to read this but also refreshing. Them being closer in age doesn’t take away the steam—or the forbidden romance—from the novel.

With that being said, there’s something about their relationship that doesn’t get me emotionally invested and I’m not sure what. I love Christine and Scott, both separately and together, but even with the stakes I wasn’t captured. And trust me, the stakes for them both, Scott especially, were pretty high!

All in all, I give this book four stars. I would definitely pick it up again if I’m feeling down or missing Campbell’s spunk. Huge thank you to Netgalley, Christine Miles and Sealed With a Swoon Books for giving me an advanced copy.

Okay English professor who loves to read. (who cares if he's a her professor right?) Sign me up.

Campbell and Scott are just wholesome. Their mutual love of reading is really fantastic to see. I definitely was rooting for them to get together from their first meet. I loved everything about it.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

Young hot professor? Yes please!
Single dad? Double yes please!
Woman on the run? Kinda… another box in the yes column.
This story sounded great to me. And I initially got into it, but then it got slow for me so I skipped around. Luckily it redeemed itself which is why I am rating it as 3.5 stars. I enjoyed the happily ever after at the end. :)
