Noelle ditches her wedding at the very last minute and is rescued by mountain man Nash.
I loved Nash. He is a huge sweetheart who falls hard for Elle. I’m not quite as fond of Elle. I thought she was a bit ditzy and immature. She waited on other people to bail her out.
She was unsure of so many things and I do fear Nash is rebound man,
I love the community of Blitzen Bay.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Elle and Nash. Elle is a bride that decides she doesn’t want to get married on her wedding day and Nash is the lucky person who has a truck that Elle hides in. There is a mutual attraction. Elle ask Nash to drive her somewhere that she can get away from the wedding. They each have problems but together they work them out and fall in love.
What a very funny book that also has moments of seriousness also. Noel who was not born around Christmas but was named that because her mother is obsessed with the holiday is getting married in three days. Her mother is extremely excited, over the top to the point of when she arrives at the venue, she realizes that there are not enough decorations, watch out. Noel becomes more stressed out and wishes for her grandmother but she has passed. She does get some saving grace from her cousin. Her cousin does help her, especially the night before the wedding when she finds out her fiancé has decided without telling her that they are moving to Texas regardless of her acceptance into law school in January. He was going to tell her on their honeymoon.
Enter Nash who has been medically retired from the Service for three months. On a phone call with his mother who lives in Texas she wants him to go to the wedding of a family friend who is in Los Angeles. He lives in the mountains of Big Bear. Just to appease he agrees. Not really wanting to go this just throws off his plan of doing what? That is it. Arriving in his pickup not new he is surprised to see that Christmas has exploded not in a good way inside. While waiting he has to leave because Noel’s cousin has gotten ahold of the mic and started to sing jingle bells and not in a good way. This is done as a diversion to allow Noel to make her escape which does and ends up in the back of Nash’s truck. He helps her escape and takes her to his town. There she is loved by everyone and slowly he begins to fall for her as well. There is so much I am leaving out that you really must read this book just for the characters in the town. The relationship ends when her cousin comes and gets her and Noel leaves without saying goodbye to Nash. Heartbreak yes but needed to be done. Still reading this book to see who it ends with it has a very good ending that surprised me but the author did well. This book has so many wonderful characters I don’t know when I read a book and either laughed or smiled so much, which is rough for me I don’t normally smile. I would give it more than five stars if I could.

I loved the story and the humor, like it made me laugh at the parts where it was supposed to.
I honestly loved it <3
For any girl her wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of her life but for Noelle it is starting to feel like her worst nightmare, with her mother taking over the entire thing Noelle can’t help but feel like all the walls are closing in on her… which is why she runs, she just did not expect her get away to be with a grouchy retired military man Nash. When Nash agreed to attending the wedding of an old school friend he never expected to be leaving the wedding early or with the bride hiding in the back of his truck! Maybe this little lady in a hole lot of white tulle is just the thing that Nash needs to be pushed out of his comfort zone and really start living again…
…
Firstly let me just start of by saying how cute is this cover! The cover was the first thing that drew me to this book and let me just tell you that it did not disappoint one bit! I love the entire grump meets sunshine trope and this was Noelle and Nash down to a tee. For the most part this was a light cute read with a touch of Christmasy goodness laced through the novel.
..
I will say that it took a while for this book to get going but once it did it was fun non stop, as far as meet cutes go this is definitely up there with the best of them with Nash saving Noelle on her wedding day, the entire ball of tulle in his truck thing was both hilarious and cute. I really liked getting to see these total opposites coming together and Noelle pushing Nash way out of his comfort zone. I think that it is safe to say the best part of this book was Nash himself, not only did he have some gravel to his past but I loved that he was a gentleman to his core and in all his encounters with Noelle he was super chivalrous and respectful. I loved that he never once judged her or demanded that she explain herself. Also I just loved that Nash just gave Noelle a nickname of his own without really even knowing her at all, this was just too cute.
..
The Runaway Bride Of Blitzen Bay is a definite must read, this book is sugar sweet with a silly cute romance set in a small snow town with load of meddlesome towns folks.
Thank you to Netgalley & Victory Editing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love the holiday season & all things Christmas so this was a really great read for me.
The cover art is beautifully illustrated & is what instantly hooked me before I could even read the synopsis.
Noelle is such a character to say the least, she had me laughing most of the time & Nash.. Let's just say we all need a Nash in our lives, he was so sweet, caring & so protective of Elle.
He has her back from the moment they meet, and they do meet in the most unconventional of ways, she quickly digs her way deep into his heart.
This was my first read by Donna Schwartze & she did not disappoint in the least.
The Runaway Bride of Blitzen Bay is a quirky & sweet opposites attract, insta-love that I read in one sitting because I could not put it down. The characters are so wholesome & sweet that I wish I could go to Blitzen Bay in real life.
This was a great book. It was funny at times and a bit sad as well. Elle (Noelle) loves her life in California. She loves the yoga and her friends and the opportunity it holds. She however isn't sure she loves her fiancé anymore. He has changed in the last six months leading up to their wedding. It doesn't help when the bombshell is announced they would be moving to Texas after the honeymoon unknown to Elle. Something in Elle just snaps and on her wedding day she climbs in the back of a strangers truck and runs away from her wedding.
Nash is ex special forces. He is recovering from the physical and mental trauma that occurred during his military service when his mother convinces him to attend the wedding of an old highschool acquaintance.
Unknown to Nash that wedding would change his life forever when the bride climb in the bed of the truck to escape.
Elle and Nash begin a journey of discovery both regarding themselves. Elle is determined to lead her own path and Nash learns to open up more and live with his past.
A sweet fun ,humorous love story.
Love all the characters off Blizen Bay.
Noelle and Nash are fun together.
Noelle runs away from her wedding hiding in the back of Nash's truck.
Just a good fun read.
Voluntarily reviewed.
A very cozy and sweet read.
Full of humor and light hearted banter. Truly a cute read you should pick up.
Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.
Noelle is the runaway bride who on her wedding day finally listens to all the warning bells going off telling her to abort the wedding/marriage. Nash is the "get-away driver" who was forced by his mother to attend the wedding of an old teammate. This was a sweet, feel-good romance filled with humor and snarky banter. There was also some deeper topics as Nash (ex-military) tries to deal with the loss of a friend and Noelle deals with her overbearing mother as well as trying to keep true to following her dreams. I loved the supportive and quirky cousin of Noelle, Kit. It appears she gets her own story in the next book!
3.5 stars
I absolutely loved and enjoyed this little holiday romance. I really liked Nash and how sweet and caring this man is! Noelle... she's a character. I'm pretty sure her hiding from her soon to be husband in the bed of Nashs truck on there wedding day was my favorite part. I mean... hey if it's not right then don't do it ya know! And the little town of Blitzen Bay and the people in it were the best! I need to find me a small town like that (and maybe even a Nash)! Cute, fun and quick little holiday romance. Perfect for Christmas time!
I knew, as a Christmas lover, that I would adore this book, and I was right! This book is just the right amount of quirky, the characters are lovable. It was a quick and enjoyable read.
If you were a fan of “The Wedding Date” series you will want to take a trip to Blitzen Bay.
In this first book we meet Noelle and Nash. Both running away from things and this leads them right to each other.
Well written and fun cast of characters makes this a joy to read.
Highly recommend for your summer, fall or winter reading list.
The Runaway Bride of Blitzen Bay starts a bit slow as it describes Noelle's wedding preparations that her Momzilla dominates. She is having second thoughts about her relationship to Steve, the groom. In the meantime, Steve's former teammate Nash is grieving for a friend he lost in the war and preparing to attend the wedding at his mother's insistence. The story picks up when Noelle crawls into the back of his truck in her wedding dress and tells Nash to drive away . They end up spending Christmas together in a little town with lots of supportive friends. There is a lot of great dialogue and this is just an utterly cute story. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a clean romance with holiday spirit
Noelle is having doubts just before her wedding and ends up doing a runner on her wedding day. She escapes in the back of Nash's truck. She has never met him before but he helps her out. Is it too soon for her to fall for someone else? A great read - looking forward to the rest of this series.
This is the second book I’ve read by Donna Schwarze and I am not disappointed! The books have been so easy to read and enjoyable.
This books focuses on Noelle who is a runaway bride, and Nash who is her getaway driver. The Runaway Bride of Blitzen Bay is probably the sweetest book I’ve ever read. Cosy vibes, a small town with the loveable characters, the perfect read.
I can’t wait to read more of the author’s books.
This author just has a way of creating characters that make you smile the entire time you’re reading about them. A quick read with no spice but still so fun. I wish we could have had an epilogue a little longer in the future to see how Elle & Nash’s stories end but this was a great read nonetheless.
‘Sometimes you have to break free of what you know to find out who you are.’
If you love a Hallmark Christmas movie, “The Runaway Bride of Blitzen Bay” is for you. Christmas is not my favorite holiday, and yet I love Christmas movies. I would watch them year-round. When I need an escape from life, watching a Christmas movie is one way for me to do so.
Does the storyline of “The Runaway Bride of Blitzen Bay” seems crazy and ridiculous? Absolutely. But that is what makes it fun to read. It seems unbelievable enough that I could see it be a movie.
Noelle is our runaway bride. It doesn’t matter how long you spend with someone, and there may be a chance that you won’t know who they really are. You will only see what someone wants you to see. Anyone could be wearing a mask, and you wouldn’t even know. Not until they choose to show their true colors.
Nash was recently retired from the military. He was invited to a high school classmate’s wedding. At first, he didn’t want to go, but he went anyway. At the wedding was when his life changed.
If you are meant to be with someone, it will happen. Everything happens for a reason, and there are no such things as coincidences. Nash and Noelle met at Noelle’s wedding. Their first meeting was amusing. The relationship was crazy, and I enjoyed reading about it.
“The Runaway Bride of Blitzen Bay” is the second book I’ve read from Donna Schwartze, and it makes me want to read more from her. Especially if I need something funny and I know I will enjoy it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.25)
Thank you, NetGalley and Donna Schwartze, for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Fun, funny, uplifting , and just a really well written easy to read book. Add this to your books to read for the summer.
This is a great runaway bride romance. These brides never get back with who they ran away from so I'm not surprised by how it turned out, but it was still great!
