I was so excited to read this one but after a portion of the book it just felt flat for me

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
I adored this book and wanted to reread it the second I put it down. Having never been to Scotland and it's high on my bucket list, I was immersed in the setting and loved seeing the Intercultural interactions. There is lots to discuss with students and point out, both good and bad, in terms of Intercultural communication and spending time in a foreign country.
Thrilling read! I was able to connect with all of the characters and throughly enjoyed the story the author painted.
I requested this book only for Edinburgh's setting I'm honest.
I'm so sorry but I think that the plot was a little bit confusing. But it's full of romance, so you can gave it a chance

Initially, I liked the book quite a lot. However the direction it took just didn't work. I did not finish this book after 20%.
An easy read, full of romance!
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
Funny, moving and incredibly romantic, Nina Kaye’s One Night in Edinburgh is a sparkling and poignant page-turner that will steal your heart.
Steph has just had the worst Hogmanay on record. Broken-hearted, dejected and fed up with dating losers, she wanders through an Edinburgh street party and meets Jamie and sparks immediately begin to fly. Jamie ticks every single box of her perfect man list – he’s witty, intelligent and charismatic and Steph thinks that finally Lady Luck has smiled down upon her. However, Steph didn’t get Jamie’s number and it looks like all her hopes and dreams for the future have been cruelly dashed before they even got off the ground!
Steph, however, is not about the let her Prince Charming slip through her fingers. She is determined to find him and knowing of his penchant for lime and mango beer sets out trying to locate him by leaving a message on his favourite beer across local pubs. It looks like Steph’s hard work and ingenuity have paid off – until they are reunited and Jamie, far from being jubilant and excited, is withdrawn, evasive and uncontactable! Is Steph merely setting herself up for heartbreak yet again?
Steph refuses to let another man treat her like dirt. However, she quickly realises that there is more to Jamie than she had initially thought and when a chance encounter with him reveals his secret she finds herself wondering whether she should give their relationship a go – or whether their one magical night in Edinburgh is all she and Jamie were meant to have…
Nina Kaye’s One Night in Edinburgh is a complex, multi-layered and thought-provoking romantic read that highlights serious social issues whilst also delivering all the warmth, charm and heart which readers expect from contemporary women’s fiction. Full of hope, pathos and emotion, One Night in Edinburgh is a fresh, mature and immensely enjoyable romantic comedy that made me laugh and cry.
Nina Kaye is a very talented writer and with One Night in Edinburgh continues to prove to be one of the genre’s most exciting and gifted authors – I cannot wait for her next book!
Unfortunately not for me. I didn't get on with the main character really at all and didn't therefore want to finish it.
Super fun and cute rom-com that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It is a little predictable, but that wasn't a deal-breaker because the writing was solid and the characters were interesting. It was a quick read, but I prefer my rom-coms that way.
Thank you to NetGalley and publishers for access to an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!
I have to be honest and say that I didn't like the style of writing. But this didn't stop me from continuing to read.
Poor Steph is dumped on Hogmanay by Jamie who she has been with since schooldays. She is convinced by her chaotic friend to still go out and celebrate the new year and bumps into Jamie. There is a definite spark between them and they enjoy spending time together. Unfortunately Jamie disappears and Steph has no way of getting hold of him.
Without spoilers - they find each other again and things are going well until Steph begins to worry that Jamie is hiding something from her.
The rest of the book is predictable with the whole "will they or won't they" that you can see coming a mile off.
There are a couple of serious topics in this too but I really couldn't get in to this book.
The characters didn't excite me in any way and I wouldn't want to know any of them. Having said that, I'm sure that this will be a popular book with those who are able to suspend their disbelief easier than I.
I DNFed this book. I had really high hopes in this one because it is set on my dream city. But personally, it didn't grab me.
This is a great new book from Nina Kay. I love how Steph try's to search for Jamie.
Some twists and turns along the way but a great easy read!
This one was a lovely read. I really enjoyed reading this one. I just love this kind of books.
4 stars read for me
This is a humorous, feel-good romance with an unexpected twist!
With hugely likeable characters in Steph, Connor and Anna and perfectly depicted interactions between them which show how different their personalities are, the friendship shared by the trio is one of the highlights of the book.
Steph and Jamie’s budding romance is sweet and will certainly pull at the heart strings of readers who believe in serendipity and happy endings, even when it seems an unlikely outcome for the pair.
Factor in Steph’s fairly obnoxious family, especially sister Kayleigh, who can’t wait to put the boot in and it makes for a thoroughly entertaining read!
The plot twist came as a total surprise and offers a completely unique take on a situation which I’ve never come across before and certainly didn’t guess.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author, but I’m already looking forward to picking up future work.
With thanks to the author, Canelo publishing and Rachel at Random Resources for the opportunity to participate in the tour,
It is Hogmanay and Steph is nursing a broken heart when she bumps into Jamie, a stranger she feels an instant connection to. They share an amazing night but Steph doesn’t ask for his number.
In trying to track him down, she decides the only way is to stick a message on cans of his favourite beer. When they reunite Steph feels like Jamie isn’t telling her everything, eventually his secret is revealed - will Steph’s heart be broken once again?
This was a light quick read.
One Night In Edinburgh is my first read from this author and I truly enjoyed my experience.
I like the writing style. It delivered the unique story after break up without so much angsty scenes and leave me with nice and warm feeling. The combination between intriguing plots, twists and likeable characters working so well to hooked me into this romantic journey.
I really enjoyed my time reading this book and will happily share it with my book community.
Thank you Netgalley and Canelo Publishing for provided me with this delightful book. I am grateful and my thoughts are my own.
I enjoyed this book - like a chick lit story but with a bit more to it! Loved the characters of Steph and Jamie and loved how the ex partner was a positive character too. Didn’t like Steph’s family at all but neither did Steph!!!! Would really recommend this book, it’s great x
This was a pretty fun read and had an interesting concept for the story. I have some readers in mind already, so I'll definitely be purchasing for the library.
i was a fun story, i found myself having a great time reading it. i felt like a rom-com, a true one, more than many others i've read lately. after this one, i definitely wanna read this authors other work.
