I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "LOVE AND KEROSENE" THE story hooks you from the start there's emotional turmoil, angst, hurt, loss, grief, painful past, love developed you can't put down until finished.
Lachlan's life was hell because of his father & brother Donovan, losing his mother as well leaves him with sleepless nights 'a house he inherited with bad memories.
Anneliese Nielsen was Donavan's fiance he left her with absolutely nothing Lachlan shouldn't care but selling the house she could recoup some of her loss.
Lachlan & Anneliese make a deal to renovate the house together bringing them closer but if she doesn't sell the house when done he'll burn it to the ground it brings out to many bad memories for him.
I definitely recommend to this delightful interesting story I like the chemistry between Anneliese & Lachlan coming together with after such painful past so well worth the read it won't disappoint.
I was really surprised by this. I really enjoyed this & was hooked from the start, I didn’t want to put it down. I’ve really been into small town romances lately & this hit the mark for me. This could’ve been a 5 stars for me but there was something missing. This was really cute & I really loved Anneliese & Lachlan as a couple & their bond.
I have never read any of this authors books before and thoroughly enjoyed this one.
The story flows and the characters and events are well set out. This book is well written and unfolds over the duration of the story to give you a good insight into all the characters and events that have been portrayed.
I am pleased to say I noticed none of the spelling errors and grammar mistakes that I often see with e-books,
Totally new to this author. But I kinda liked this. Simple story. No drama. No spicy scenes. Well it was actually kinda average. Expected some excitement but nothing. Oh well, maybe next time.
I really liked this story, it is a slow burn romance about second chances, love and forgiveness, Anneliese and Lachlan have a painful past, they are both lonely characters who find themselves in a very peculiar situation when they start to renovate the house together.
I loved it the way the author narrates the story, how their relationship that started as a mere business went on to something more and both develop feelings for each other. I loved their dialogues, the latent attraction between them, the scenes so full of passion and emotion, wow magic, unputdownable, sooo good.
This book is an angst, emotional and addictive story, I love both characters and I love the way they help heal each other, and how they find in each other a second chance for love, it's my first book by this author but it definitely won't be the last, Love and Kerosene is an epic romance that gave me all the feelings!
Anneliese thought she had found the man of her dreams. Too bad he ended up being a con artist who swindled her entire life savings from her.
One day she sees a man who looks just like him. Was it him? No, that’s impossible. But then he’s knocking on her front door…
Anneliese and Lachlan have two different goals when it come to the house.. can they work together and settle their differences??
I thought this story was sweet.
Great characters who will leave you wanting more!
You never really think about how hidden truths reveal themselves after death. In many cases, they can blindside you. Winter Renshaw weaves an intriguing tale of pain, deceit and love. If you like books with a little romantic suspense feel or the ‘we shouldn’t go there’ theme - you should grab this book!
ARC REVIEW
I'm already a fan of this author and that continues with Love and Kerosene. It wasn't obvious where this was going or how it was going to resolve (good things in a world with so many overdone tropes) and I enjoyed the adventure as it went along.
I enjoyed getting to know the various characters and following the various threads Winter wove here. The characters are believable, well-developed and interesting. The sex scenes are more suggested than explicit, which is a (good) change. It's not that I don't like explicit ones, but there's only so many ways to write them (and they've all been done); at this point it's nice to have more story.
If you enjoy a well-written novel that ends well but takes you through the feels to get there, you can't go wrong with this book. If you're new to this author, lucky you bc she's written a lot and they are all awesome. I've already read them (some more than once) so I am condemned to wait for whatever she drops next. 😂
This book was amazing that I read it on one sitting. The slow burn between Lachlan and Annaliese was life changing. Falling in love is easy, finding ”the one” that is the hard part. I don’t know where to start without spoiling it for everyone. This is a have to read.
Thank you NetGallery for the ARC
Always a fan of Ms. Renshaw books, keep doing your thing. You can't choose your family or who you fall in love with.
High 4 ⭐️
Let’s all just take a moment and gaze at this cover……. This guy is gorgeous! And It leaves me speechless because I’m sucker for a beautiful cover. **Sigh**
This was for me a feel-good book. A comfortable, light, HEA summer read. I totally identified with Annelieses and her story. It’s unfortunate that this same thing happens to many people.
I loved Lachlan and wish it hadn’t ended. The story telling was precious. And Lachlan is my new favorite book boyfriend. This romance wasn’t very steamy but it was still worth the read.
Things I loved:
• Oral storytelling
• Kitchen dances
• Honesty
• HEA
Thanks Montlake via NetGalley.
I’ll be leaving my review on Amazon, Instagram, B&N , Kobo, GR and FB closer to publication date.
When I started this book, I was skeptical of how the story would play out. It took me a little bit to get invested into the story but the story was very good. I loved how everything came together at the end and the epilogue was perfect.
I loved this book, couldn't put it down.
The slow burn between Annaliese and Lachlan is swoon worthy.
It's worth the read. 😊
I thought this book was a super super cute read that's got me right out of a reading slump. It actually reminded me a lot of a book by Brittany Cherry called Southern Storms. It was this super cute, and slightly heart breaking masterpiece. When this comes out, you should check it out because I swear, you'll love it!
5 stars overall, I read it super quick and I would read it again
I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Love and Kerosene by Winter Renshaw through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine.
I really enjoyed this story, especially being able to read from 2 different viewpoints. Our heroine had been badly duped by our hero’s brother, and was in the process of losing everything because of it, and our hero was reluctantly returning home to get rid of all memories of his family, and they both end up hurting heads as their wishes are in direct contradiction with each other. It was a nice read, the perfect length, and with good secondary characters. I’d recommend
I’m not sure how I feel right now. I’ve powered through this book in one sitting in a few hours since I’ve downloaded it earlier today.
The characters are really interesting and when one of them is set to fulfil his revenge even if that means breaking the rules and sometimes, heartbreaking the heart of a certain new friend, it all makes for an intriguing read to see where this is going and how it’s going to end.
That happily ever after is not your usual one. The chemistry was there but slowly building up as the encounters between them were sparse in the first half of the book.
The raining /middle of the street scene was nice and I loved how she didn’t backed away from getting to know him better because I wouldn’t do that in a million years, I’m too scared of what ifs and whatnots .
Interesting romance overall and I’m looking forward to read more in the future.
