I have loved all of the Bergman Brothers books by Chloe Liese and was very excited to hear about a new book by the author outside of the series. Two Wrongs Make a Right did not disappoint. I loved this book. The characters were authentic and represented real life. The story was funny, spicy and heartwarming. This book was enjoyable to read with buttoned up Jamie and free spirit Bea finding their love story. The meddlesome supporting characters added more fun to the storyline and possibly have a book themselves in their future. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading it again!
5 Stars doesn’t feel anywhere near sufficient for this amazing story. I’m a huge fan of the Bergman series and this is probably my most anticipated book of 2022. In typical fashion, Liese more than blew it out of the park! I adored and was obsessed with Bea and Jamie front the very beginning. Liese’s books always have so much heart. The banter, tension, and slow burn with Jamie and Bea was incredible. I loved every minute of this book! I cannot recommend it highly enough! Thank you PRH audio and Berkley Romance for my gifted copies! I cannot wait for my preordered copy to arrive!
Ok, first, that cover? So gorgeous! I wanted to read this book before I even knew what it was about because of that stunning cover. Cheers to the designer. And the story didn’t disappoint. It’s a great opposites attract, fake dating romance and a refreshing, modern take on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.
Bea and Jamie are such relatable characters, and they have a lot of depth. I totally understood Jamie’s struggles with anxiety, and I thought that the author presented the stress and worry and issues that come with having anxiety realistically and with care. The same for their neurodivergence, backstories, past hurts, and relationships with family and friends. The secondary characters are interesting too, and I’m looking forward to reading some of their stories in future books.
Instead of a meet-cute, Bea and Jamie have an awkward meet-mess, and both know they aren’t a good match despite what those closest to them think. When they make a plan to pretend to date, they never expect that the things that they think are incompatible are actually the things that bring them together. They are well-developed and compelling characters, and their romance is fabulous. Enemies-to-lovers and fake dating make for the best romance! Bea and Jamie are so great together, and the way Jamie treats Bea is swoon-worthy. He’s such a cinnamon roll, and their love scenes are steamy!! I also love that they communicate with each other. They seem to connect so well emotionally, and I think a lot of that has to do with their communication.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a wonderful mix of sweet and sexy, and there are some intimate and emotional scenes that I adored. I would definitely recommend the book to lovers of contemporary romance or rom-coms, and I’m grateful to NetGalley and Berkley Books for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
I have been following Chloe on her writing journey for quite a while. I am so happy that she is getting the recognition that she deserves, and that we are getting the stories she writes.
Chloe does an incredible job of showcasing inclusiveness in a way that is simply infectious.
In this instance we get an autistic character, and someone with pretty intense anxiety. This allows us, the reader, to really feel that this story, while fictional, could indeed happen to any of us.
Jamie and Bea set out on fake dating to get revenge on their friends. This is a romance book of course, you can imagine what happens following that.
I love this one. I read it in a single setting. Bea was a breath of wonderful weird air and I could not get enough of her.
Thank you Berkley Romance for the chance to read this advanced copy! I will be adding it to my physical shelves for sure!
I was hooked as soon as I started reading. I love stories of opposites attract. It was also fun to see how Jamie and Bea fell in love and their honest dialogues and funny moments. Jamie is oh so romantic! I empathized with their personal challenges and feelings. Lol moments, tears, family drama and passionate moments of their love had me stalling as I was nearing the end because I didn’t want their story to end!
I look forward to reading books by the author. I enjoy her writing style.
Thank you #netgalley for an advance copy for my honest review.
The main male character is super romantic in this book. I loved that part of it. i don't know that I connected with Bea very easily, but she definitely wasn't unlikable. It's an enemies to lovers plot with lots of good sexual tension. My biggest issue came at the end of the book. The last hurdle the couple has to face seemed like a big stretch. Like, I couldn't follow Bea's reasoning. But, overall, an enjoyable romance with some autism and pansexual rep.
When Jamie and Bea are forced together, the two decide to play along with the game in order to seek revenge on their meddling friends and family. Fake dating ensues and we all know what happens then...
I just knew going into this one that I would love it, just like I've loved all the other Chloe Liese books I've read. The author has an amazing way with words, pulling you into the story from page one, with characters you can't help falling in love with yourself. I absolutely adored both Jamie and Bea and their love story. After reading a few mediocre romances, this one was just what I needed to have me appreciating the genre again. If you've not read a Chloe Liese book, you need to do yourself a favour and pick one up. You can thank me later :)
Omg how can I like every book Chloe Liese writes. This time we meetva new family that is not usual but love is her center abd makes the world goes around. I laughed, cried and did both at the same time. Reading her books we always get to know not perfect perfect characters. This time is not an exception.
"..anyone that can not love you for you, does not deserve your heart"
This is something everyone that had been heart broken has to hear. You have to have faith and be open to new opportunities. Here we had a sweet matchmaking going on. They start not so good but there is always a possibility to get better and give a new chance to you and others.
"..we do not speak often the sama language, but nothing gets lost in translation when we kiss."
"I'd do it again in a heartbeat because it's given me you.."
"I am saying you're the best kind if chaos I've ever met. And while chaos used to terrify me, you makecme crave it."
"Yo're everything I never knew I wanted. I've never been so glad to be wrong."
I could not felt more at home with this book. It made me feel all emotions that true love can give you.
This was such a great example of the fake dating trope. Not only is there fake dating, but there's enemies-to-lovers fake dating. It's delightful.
Bea and West are relatable characters, and I love the way that Liese writes *actual* things that people deal with into her books. I absolutely cared about these characters because they are realistic and reflect characteristics I see in both myself and others every day.
Technically speaking, the pacing was really good - quick, no dragging here - and the plot was well-developed and fun.
10/10 would recommend to readers who love these particular tropes, and the romcom genre in general.
Fake dating trope, a main character who is on autism spectrum, and an opposites attract romance? Yes, sign me up!
This book follows Bea and Jamie. Two somewhat socially inept individuals, who’ve been hurt by past relationships, and find themselves being set up by those close to them.
To get back at their friends for their meddling they devise a plan to fake date and have an explosive breakup. But in classical rom-com fashion, things do not go as planned. All the things they’d thought set them apart wind up bringing them together. Their opposite natures are a perfect compliment.
I adored them from their first pho date. I mean not that I’m biased for anything 😏
This book is a delightful blend of sweetness, sexiness, and emotionality.
I’d already had the book on pre-order prior to obtaining an ARC and I’m keeping the order. That’s how you know I liked it. If I have already read something but choose to buy a physical copy it means I like it enough to want a copy on my shelf and support the author.
Book Review: Two Wrongs Make A Right
Five Stars! LOVED. Just absolutely loved this book. Chloe Liese is the Queen of Romance. She writes the best characters. They are authentic, perfectly imperfect and you can’t help but fall in love with them and with their story.
This book has something for everyone. Shakespeare fans - it’s a Much Ado About Nothing retelling. It has enemies to lovers and fake dating. It has such a fun meet disaster. I don’t know if Chloe coined that term but it was certainly not a meet cute. It has phenomenal neurodivergent rep (autism & anxiety).
I read this book in a day and was pretty cranky about all of my life responsibilities that interrupted my reading time.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes… to read. Yep, that’s you! Also, I need the side characters to get their own books. Please & thank you!
Thank you to Berkley for the advanced reader’s copy.
3.75 Stars.
A fun and engaging take on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing (with delightful nods to other Bard influenced stories upcoming, I assume given the sister’s names and other secondary characters). Beatrice and Jamie are great lead characters. Leave behind the the toxic male traits and swoon over Jamie's sensitive and passionate strength. Though, I wasn’t totally sold on Bea’s jump to loathing in the beginning. Still, it made for some great setups and push and pull. And since it’s based on Shakespeare, I mostly went along with the faulty fake-dating/vengeance logic, though it is a bit of an eye-squint.
I had a few issues, entirely personal preference, in the writing style, mainly in the first half. But, I thought it got smoother in the second half and I was fully sucked in. And now I want more. I’m looking forward to more stories in this series (I hope) and it’s overall a charming story.
I really liked this book! Thank you Netgalley and Berkley Publishing Group for a eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Bea is our main female character. She is neurodivergent as she is on the spectrum. Jamie is our male character and he talks about his struggles with anxiety. I loved how this book talked about these issues in a great and powerful way. Throughout the book, they are able to find comfort in each other and it is touching, but let's start from the beginning. This book is haters to lovers with fake dating. Bea meetings Jamie at her sister's engagement party and things don't get as planned when she meets Jamie.
Bea's sister and her fiance set them up anonymously and when they meet, they get upset that their closest friends/sibling set them up. They decide to fake dates so that they can get revenge on people meddling in their lives. The romance in this book is one of the best I have read this year. I love both of them together and the way their long develops throughout the book is just chef's kiss.
Beware, this book does involve some heavy topics (domestic violence), but it is very well done. I gave this book a 4/5 just for the fact that I didn't appreciate how strong Bea's sister is in the beginning of the book and how it got a little boring in the middle.
My first book by Chloe, and I absolutely loved it! I loved this dual pov enemies to lovers, fake dating romance. Bea was such a fun character, and I enjoyed getting to know her! The meet cute and first date was so original and had me hooked right away. I can’t wait for more people to read this one!
Thank you Berkley for my early copy in exchange for a honest review!
Short Review: This book is everything right.
Long Review: What can I say? I absolutely loved everything about this book. From the strong neurodivergent character representation to the phenomenal steam, this book is everything a romance reader could ask for.
Chloe Liese knocked it out of the park. Now, excuse me while I read it again.
3.5 stars
“All I wanted was revenge,” she says softly, her hands settled over my heart. “And now all I want is you.”
I think this is an “it’s me, not the book” kind of review. I love Chloe liese and her Bergmans series is so cute and so entertaining, that’s why I was so freakin excited to read sth else from her and by all means this wasn’t a bad book at all, it was just okay, I guess. Also, the cover is so pretty!
Wes and Bea are okay characters. I liked their quirks and flaws and they were really cute. I just struggled a little bit with connecting to them. I’d stop reading and come back later and nope still there’s no connection. I don’t know what was the problem, but I couldn’t really feel them, you know. Maybe it’s stupid because they were perfect on paper, but they just weren’t remarkable to me I guess.
Also, the third act conflict was stupid. Sorry Bea but your actions were just stupid and unnecessary. I tried to understand her, but we don’t show “caring and support” like that. I was so freakin annoyed by it.
Huge Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this copy.
I know absolutely zero about Much Ado About Nothing, but I do know that this was a really enjoyable read. The fake dating revenge plot reminded me of 10 Things I Hate About You and Do Revenge in a weird amalgum that just WORKS. And while the steam doesn't really hit until about 75% through the book, it is worth the wait. Jamie is going to be a book boyfriend for the ages and Bea is just so adorable. I love seeing neurodivergent pairings where the book doesn't necessarily focus on that divergence as a plot element, rather just as a character trait. The portrayal of anxiety and demisexuality hit home, as did the coping mechanisms from dealing with an emotionally abusive ex. This book made me feel creatively charged, warm and fuzzy, and just in love with their universe. I hope that we get to see books for Jules and Kate (because lord knows Christopher and Kate are secretly in love in the best enemies to lovers kind of way).

This retelling of Much Ado About Nothing has a duo who meet with drinks spilled and …., a meet-disaster rather than a meet-cute. Their need for revenge after their loved ones continue to meddle drives them to fake date obnoxiously with plans for a dramatic breakup. This swoony romantic comedy is full of banter, well-developed characters with anxiety and autism, and the belief that everyone is worthy of a happy ending. This the delightful start of a series. For fans of "It Happened One Summer" and "Get a Life, Chloe Brown."
Jamie and Bea have nothing in common. He is stuffy and meticulous and she is a free spirit. When her sister and her fiance try to push them together, Bea and Jamie come up with the ultimate plan. Make people think they are dating and getting what they want, and then end it spectacularly and tell them it was all a fake!
Jamie is immediately attracted to Bea, but he doesn't want to be. On paper, she is everything he isn't looking for. Bea thinks Jamie is hot AF, but there's no way he could handle a girl like her. Until, he does.
They both thought they had a type but are learning that their types aren't right for them, maybe what they thought was wrong, was right the whole time.
These two were so awkward and absolutely perfect for one another. I adored the way that Jamie treated Bea and that he communicated so well. The book had so much communication that it was refreshing. I was smiling at every turn. The book does have some heavy topics, particularly with her sister and past relationships. I really hope this is turned into a series beause I would love to learn more about these sisters and I would love to see more of grumpy Jamie and Bea.
Thank you to Berkley, Chloe Liese and Netgalley for an early copy.
I am a big Chloe Liese fan and I am excitedly waiting for the final two books in the Bergman Sibling series. So I was glad to find this book on Netgalley to read in the mean time. It was the definition of a cozy romance. It was sweet and funny, but the stakes were not too high and the angst was low. I thought the characters were interesting and had great depth. These were not two perfect people, they each had their own issues to deal with which made it more real and believable. As a whole, it was a cute and quick read. I would recommend it to fans of the author or someone just looking for a low stakes romance.
