This book has an interesting plot, I've never read anything similar. The main character is stuck existing outside of her comatose body in the hospital and meets someone else in a similar predicament. As much as I hate to say this, I could not finish this book. Many failed attempts at doing so had the same result, boredom followed by picking up another book.

I appreciate the opportunity of getting to read this early with a ARC via NetGalley.

After reading a bunch of thriller, I was in the mood for something light and heart warming. I got exactly what I wished for with this book. "I Let You Fall" is such a touching book that really dives into life's ups and downs. It's all about celebrating what it means to be human. Trust me, this one's a real heart warmer that sticks with you. I'd definitely recommend it if you're after a story that reminds you how powerful love and the human spirit can be.

I Let You Fall tells the story of Eve Chapman, an art teacher who leads a seemingly normal life until she finds herself in a coma after an accident. We don’t learn the details of what put her in the hospital until later on in the novel. She wakes up in a hospital room and watches in horror as a group of surgeons attempt to save the life of a woman with a terrible head injury. As she takes a closer look, she realizes that the woman on the operating table is none other than herself. It’s an out-of-body experience moment at its finest.
As Eve tries to navigate her new existence, she meets others who are also injured and living outside of their body. One, in particular, a man named Luca, acts as her guide as he has been in a coma for much longer. The longer Eve’s body remains in a coma the more frustrated she becomes — she is able to see her parents and boyfriend come to visit her but they can’t hear her when she tried to speak to them. What’s worse is that when she tries to comfort them, they can’t seem to feel her presence.
This is thought provoking and sweet and def lessons to take away

Vale a pena ler. Acho que você irá amar.

This was an interesting book. I probably would not have picked it up for myself, but I’m glad I got it through NetGalley. We learn about Eve’s life as the book progresses. We learn about her relationships and what value they bring to her. Luca is in the same situation Eve is in, but he finds a purpose in his state - to help others and hope to shift enough of their life so they don’t end up in a coma like him. Eve slowly develops her skills and assists Luca in his tasks. The question is truly, are their lives worth going back to?

Quite an interesting premise. It ticks along nicely and keeps you guessing about how its all going to turn out. A nice read for a rainy afternoon

Well written; good story. The only reason I have 4 instead of 5 stars is because the beginning is a little slow,. So keep reading! It's great!

Thank you NetGalley for providing a free copy in exchange of an honest review. So where to start? I think I was expecting more but unfortunately it didn’t work out for me. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t in the mood but hopefully if I ever reread this, I’ll like it more.

Eve Chapman finds herself in a hospital emergency room on an ordinary summer night. Surgeons are trying to operate on a woman with a terrible head injury, and when the woman's bandages are removed she is stunned to see her own self on the operating table. She learns she is in a coma and no one can see or hear her. Then she meets another patient in a coma named Luca, who is in the same position she is and can see her. He teaches her how to use her new abilities to help comfort her family and friends. The story is told through several different POVs, and it is a very emotional story. It was a great read and I loved it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

The synopsis got me. Once I read that I was immediately intrigued and felt it was a book I had to read.
I’ve read other books with a similar storyline. Girl in coma, things happening around her etc… and when it’s done well it’s an amazing idea.
This one though, unfortunately fell a bit short of the mark for me,
The writing style and some of the language the characters use, just somehow seemed unnatural, I couldn’t imagine anyone actually sayings those things and it was just a bit ….too much.
This made it so hard to connect with any of the characters in the story, and I struggled so much to keep going. But I did.
I’m sorry but I just think that maybe this author isn’t for me.
That’s not to say that someone else who picks it up will feel the same, Everyone is different and I wish the author all the very best.
Thank you though for my arc. I appreciate the opportunity to read it,

I Let You Fall is wholesome, yet thought-provoking. Eve is dimensional. She is human with flaws and shortcomings, and hopes and dreams. This story has depth, understanding, and and handles the concepts of grief and the afterlife with that delicate balance that makes you think and feel. The ending - woo, the ending - I can honestly say that I never saw it coming, but that I kind of love it.

Eve is stuck. She isn’t sure what’s happening but she is suddenly awake but not awake. She’s in her hospital room looking at her body, which is in a coma. No one can hear her, no one can see her. She’s having a hard time understanding what’s happening. She’s witnessing family, friends and her significant other visiting her. Learning things, realizing true feelings, and meeting Luca who is also in a similar situation. Will she wake up? Will she see things the same? Very interesting story that I couldn’t wait to the end and I wanted more at the end! A contemporary tale of tragedy, selflessness, love, and renewal.

The concept of this story was neat and cute, but it was executed so poorly. It could have used a good editing to rid it of all the cringey conversations and physical moments that were put in every few sentences. The statement on netgalley comparing this to the Time Traveler's Wife and In Five Years is what made me pick this, and while I can recognize the slightly similar concept, the lack of charm in this book makes it seem like a completely different creature than those. Will round up from 2.75 to 3 stars on netgalley.

At first when the family story started it came out of nowhere and I was confused. I went back to the beginning of the book to see if I had missed something. It took a while for it all to come together, but I figured out where the author was heading with everything. The only thing I didn't know was if Eve was going to die. It felt like everything took too long to come together. I liked it, but I didn't love it. Thank you for the ARC.

I Let You Fall by Sara Downing

Wow! A compelling one-sitting read!

I was intrigued with the thought of someone in a coma being "alert and aware" of things even if others couldn't see that.
I really liked Eve and of course I wanted to learn about her experience in the coma. I sympathized with her when her family didn't realize she was paying attention and knew what they were saying, yet Eve couldn't communicate to them so they could understand that. I also felt for some other non family characters.
Luca was a mystery for awhile but I was glad that Eve was not all alone. One thing that kept my attention was wondering if she would ever wake up or stay stuck in the coma.
I think readers will be as gripped as I was, and will eagerly gulp the story following Eve's journey.
I gave this book 4 1/2*** and highly recommend it for readers who like emotional stories with a unique subject.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley. I will be looking for the author's backlist for sure.

This book has an intense premise that made me feel anxious. It was, however, somewhat confusing, and I'm not sure I'd read it again anytime soon. I do think a lot of people who enjoy a book like this but unfortunately it just couldn't grab my full attention,

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I’m finding it hard to figure out what to say about this book without giving too much away so I am going to keep this brief and vague. The premise was interesting enough - a young woman is in an accident and ends up in a coma. The story takes us through what happens to her while she is in the hospital recovering - physically, emotionally and spiritually (I guess? I can’t think of what else to call it). The book was engaging enough for me to want to keep reading, but a lot of it fell flat for me, especially in terms of character development. The ending, while a little too neat and sweet, does tie everything together.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Just could not get into this one. A bit too romance for my liking and obviously the premise takes a lot of imagination. I guess this is Sara Downing's genre...just not mine. I thought I misread the NetGalley description but others indicated it was vague, so this is probably my how I ended up here. Just a pass for me.

This is a touching and interesting novel about a woman, Eve, who is in a coma and thus living in a nebulous between-worlds space. We view events through her out-of-body self, which is being guided by Luca, another comatose patient’s out-of-body self. Their connection develops and deepens as the novel progresses. We also get the point of view of Eve’s physical body and what is happening around her. Will Eve keep fighting to return to her physical self and her family and boyfriend, or is she being pulled toward Luca.

This didn't grip me from the start nor did it keep me interested throughout. DNF. Thank you to NetGalley and Quilla Books for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
