Dream Big for Kids by Bob Goff and Lindsey Goff Viducich is one of the best kids books I have read in awhile. Through Dream Big for Kids, the Authors share the Message of Jeremiah 29:11 and how God has an unique plan for everyone. In Dream Big for Kids the Authors give examples of different dreams that God lays on peoples hearts and how they can impact their part of the world for others using the gifts and dreams God has given him/her. I highly recommend this book and believe it will be perfect for any reading setting. Thank you to NetGalley and Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.
The illustrations are awesome! Fun and imaginative.
This picture book has concepts we would all do well to remember. Some of the descriptions of people who dreamed of something and changed the world led to good conversations, and the way dreams and instincts are grouped together are so helpful, because it gives some ideas and directions for turning interests into ways to help others.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and chose to review it here. All thoughts are my own.

Very Christian God driven. I am Roman Catholic myself but found it a tad too God-driven.
I mean the intent and the all were very good as it will give children ideas on how to plan for their future...
However, I felt it went a little awry in the middle and to reel the reader back, it started with the God-focus again..
I guess the above is only if I were to nitpick... otherwise I am just wondering if those of other religions would be open to read this to their kids.
Beautiful illustrations too.
Nice motivational book for children but, it, as mentioned for the age group of 4-8, seems doubtful. children of such age do not need the content as much as given in this book. They need simple briefing, in a way that all can understand easily. To make them attentive, content must be catchy for the intended age group. However, the work done was good (if I keep the age factor aside) though it was so much lengthy; extended unnecessarily. (1-star)
Another con from the book is the 'set of examples' given. Children follow the given examples at every step of their career path and when with time they realize that they had been made to idolize wrong person, they get demotivated and dis-heartened. This eventually affect their focus on the target.
Example of 'Malala' was wrongly put for the children who get to know later that hers was funded agenda to let her won 'Nobel' for nothing. She was vocal for the cause to educate girl child all over the world, but when she was asked to choose a country in which she would like to work for the betterment, she chose the country with 99% of literate people (from that time) in the world on statistical data, 'Japan'.
Why not Sudan? Why not Chad? & other her brethrens?
With time when fairy tales and fiction stories end, children becoming young adults rely on real news data, where they would know what the reality is and at that moment everything fell down for them.
I would rated it well for fiction but not non-fiction. Illustration on other hand were very much likeable. 2-stars for illustrations only.
I have enjoyed Bob Goff's books, so I was thrilled to get this one for my younger children. It's a great message for kids (and their parents!) to dream big.
Kids are encouraged to dream big & to follow their dreams. The book includes many stories of young people who dreamed big & changed the world by following through on their dreams. Don't give up & ask for help!
(I review books & was able to preview this new book in exchange for my honest review.)
A beautiful message of passion and hope. I love the colorful, whimsical drawings and the encouraging, loving notes. A must-have for a child's library, and a book your child can grow with. I cherish books that encourage parent-child conversations and foster inspiration, and Dream Big for Kids does both. This is a lovely read and a sweet, special book.
A very colourful book that encourages kids to "dream big" and learn that their dreams may even be God-given. This can be encouraging for those who may struggle to dream beyond they can see or with confidence. It was an okay book, and some kids will really like it. Some will possibly feel it is forced in nature, but hopefully it can still be a conversation starter for adults and kids to think forward and not automatically dismiss what could otherwise been seen as outrageous ideas.
I loved the message conveyed at the end - that the world needs the big dreams of children.
I was reminded of the philanthropic work I did as a child. I think that a lot of kids can make the world a better place, because they are willing to take risks that older people aren't. I received a review copy from the publisher and have left my opinion.
My family enjoys Bob Goff children books. Always so colorful, fun to read and so well rooted in God's word. Dream big for kids is beautiful book to encourage our kids to Dream Big and follow what God is calling them to do. It was so great to read this book with my kids and listen to their dreams.
A sweet book that encourages kids to seek out the God-given dreams within them. The book gives examples of different dreams or gifts the child may have and encourages them to chase after it. The book teaches the child that they have a special place in God’s story and exhorts them to be faithful to play their part. I would have loved to see a page or two about the Holy Spirit and how he is the one who empowers us to accomplish those God-given dreams.
Big Dreams for Kids is a great picture book focusing on how no dream is alike or needs to be the same... To follow the dreams God has given you for His glory.
I liked this book for the message however, for the age range it’s recommended for I felt like the pages were almost too wordy at times.
This book had such a great inspiration message for children. I was hoping it would be something I could use in my classroom, but due to the religion in the book I could not read it in public school. Great positive message!
Dream Big for Kids is a sweet & colourful book about how some some of the best dreaming we can do is while we are awake, and to see the magic and possibilities that are all around us. The illustrations are beautiful, there was excellent diversity and I loved the references to real life people who followed their dreams & aspirations, such as the Wright Brothers and Malala Yousafzai. Hopefully by showing children people who made their dreams come true, it will inspire them to chase their own dreams. My son really enjoyed this story & then wanted to learn more about the people who were mentioned in the book. It's great how the book encourages young children to start making their dreams come true, while reminding them that it's a process, it will never happen at once, you need to keep pushing forward.
My son & I loved reading this book together & I could definitely see myself gifting copies of this book to my nieces and nephews. Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson: Children's for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. .
For starters, I am a big fan of Bob Goff and his incredible work geared towards adults. For me, Dream Big was his most inspirational book that lit a fire within me. I was thrilled to see he came out with a version geared towards kids and so happy to see it held up to the original by keeping the same uplifting and positive attitudes as a running theme. I addition to it's beautiful message, this book has some equally stunning artwork that any reader can enjoy.
A cute book about finding and chasing your dreams, whether your dream is to become a doctor or just to make a friend feel included. Focuses on creativity and the fact that we can dream big. The illustrations are really cute and show kids exploring their dreams and having fun together.
"No matter what dream God gives you, you can use it to share His love with the whole world....Whatever you do, you have the chance to pass on God's love, and that is always the best kind of dream."
I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
The theme around this story is to dream big and I think that is such an amazing thing to share with our kids. Sharing stories of others who did such amazing things in the world, and that they too one day can do the same. I loved the illustrations and the several examples of important figures and what they did in the world, however this book will have to stay as a one-time read in my household.
This was my first Bob Goff children's book and although the story is super cute and a great inspiration to kids to dream big, I was turned off by the amount of mentions for God. Stating the bible says this and God did this is too much. It takes away from the accomplishment that others did.
I am a Bob Goff fan so I was thrilled to see that he cowrote a children's book.
This book is beautifully illustrated. The pictures were my favorite part of this book.
The theme of this book is to DREAM BIG and talks about all of the ways that kids can do this. The book felt a little wordy at times and I struggled to find a consistent cohesiveness or pattern to the structure of the story. Overall I think the message of this book is great and I would give it 3.5/5 stars.
This is a very encouraging book with very clear and concise instructions for young readers and parents. This book's positive message about achieving and following your dreams is extremely encouraging, especially for young children. I like the variety that this book offers and discusses. With this weather, my son and I love the pictures at 4 rated for out the book, but he had discussed these and this has given him more than interested in the book and has encouraged him to look at his dreams.
