This book was a lot of fun. I love it when fantasy books have strong Fmc’s with an attitude. I felt like this fantasy was super unique and had the me on my toes the whole time. The ending was so well done I had to automatically pick up the next book right away!

I've heard so much about this book. And was excited to read it and it did not disappoint. While with all fantasy books it takes a minute to understand the world and getting to grips with all the new information, but once you have that you can enjoy this book, so many twists I did not see coming, edge of my seat moments and swoon moments. I really enjoyed it

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of The Book of Azrael by Amber Nicole in exchange for an honest review.

This book is incredibly long and complicated and I did not enjoy what I read of it - unfrotauntely I was unable to finish it as I was bored and confused.

After the first few chapters I already knew these were characters I would love, and I was not disappointed. It's been a while since I have read a book that I so instantly needed needed the next one. I can't wait for the rest of the series.

DNF'd, There were so many editing issues and the pacing from the start just didn't hook me. I felt a lot of tell not show, and there were parts of the book that just made me cringe. All in all, I just couldn't power through it at this time. I may pick this back up in the future when I'm more in the mood for a longer read with the dark romantasy elements this book contained.

This book has so much potential!
It’s an original storyline with an original world and I love that. However it just fell a little flat to me. I never say this but I needed more world building. I think an editor would have made this book a 5 star.

This book began slightly slow as it was building the whole supernatural world. I was crazy for the banter throughout and the relationship that progressed between the two main characters kept me wanting more.
It kept me guessing who was an ally and who was a foe but the love between Dianna and her sister was absolutely beautiful.
The ending has me literally screaming at my kindle

This book and series is one of my favorites. There is so much that happens but is so well written you do not feel lost. The author has some great mysteries running throughout the book. The characters are amazing. The more uncovered, the better the characters are. I found there was new ideas instead of the same old themes and story. This is a must read! The third book in the series is being released soon and I cannot wait.

Não prometeu nada e entregou coisas. Não vai revolucionar sua vida, mas é bom pra ler algo que tenha um universo simples mas interessante. Porém não sabia do esquema de pirâmide de CINCO LIVROS possivelmente mas vamos lá

This book was incredible, to say the least. If you're hunting for a story with a fierce female lead, steamy moments, and a plot that keeps you guessing, look no further—this is a must-read.

Let's talk about Dianna, our protagonist. She's nothing short of formidable. From just a few pages in, her character grabs you, refusing to let go. In a sea of fantasy novels featuring the all-too-familiar damsel in distress, Dianna stands out as a beacon of strength and complexity. The twists and turns in her story keep you glued to the pages, making the book refreshingly unpredictable. It's like a breath of fresh air.

Then there's Liam, the epitome of a sweetheart. The chemistry between him and Dianna is palpable, making their relationship a highlight of the story. Seriously, do yourself a favor and dive into this book. It champions the idea that it's better to stand by your convictions, even at great cost, than to live a life built on falsehoods.

Nicole, the author, has outdone herself. The plot is original and captivating, filled with characters that are both engaging and complex. The world she builds is rich and vivid, drawing you into an action-packed journey. This story, told from dual perspectives, unfolds a beautiful enemies-to-lovers arc, filled with witty banter and significant growth.

Dianna is a force to be reckoned with. Her sharp wit and determination are not only entertaining but also deeply moving, especially as she does everything in her power to protect her sister. This love is what keeps her humanity intact, even when she fears she's becoming a monster.

Liam initially comes off as all business—grumpy and detached—but Dianna slowly but surely dismantles his barriers. His sorrow and history are gradually unveiled, making his character development both poignant and profound.

Their slow-burn romance is expertly crafted, building up to a jaw-dropping cliffhanger that leaves you desperate for more. I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment in this series and cannot recommend this book enough.

In essence, if there's one reason to pick up this book, it's Dianna. Her journey is compelling, her character arc is immensely satisfying, and the dynamic between her and Liam is the cherry on top. The enemies-to-lovers aspect is executed flawlessly, making this book a standout.

This book features a morally grey heroine which had me from the start. We always get morally grey men but to see it start with the female. It had me!
This is definitely a book I would reread over and over!

Nothing entertains me more than a morally grey heroine. I feel like we get them a lot in the male characters but hardly at all for women. This story took a little bit to get interesting but once it was I couldn’t put it down.

Dianna is so passionate and it was nice to see it start to extend to Samkiel. That ending though ripped out my heart! Can’t wait for the sequel.

I DNF’d this book after a few chapters. I think the premise was interesting, but I really didn’t vibe with the writing style.

Excellent debut novel. Excited for book two. The cover was what sold me and glad to confirm that it met my expectations with its fantastic writing, superior world building and a storyline that’s original. A page turner, really.

The first 100 pages of this book I found to be quite flat, interesting enough to keep me going but flat.. It suddenly picked up and i couldn't get enough! The characters were fantastic, the plot was so exhilarating & the spice between the 2 characters was to die for!

I am HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK. Amber Nicole absolutely knocked this out of the park and I think it is such an impressive debut novel. Easily 5 stars. Hats off to you Amber, you’ve gained a lifelong fan and an instant buyer of your books.

The Book of Azrael is an absolutely addicting and powerful story of loss, pain, grief, and then growth from the ashes. The setting was so incredibly unique, taking place across worlds with descriptions that made me feel like I could see the intricacies of the mountains on Rashearim, the galaxies in the skies, and so much more. Dianna, our FMC, had a sort of determination that was absolutely inspiring. That determination mixed with a fierce and witty personality and a very not-subtle amount of badassery makes her one of my favorite FMCs of all time. Liam. Samkiel. I’ve never encountered an MMC that made me want to tear the world apart for him quite like Liam. His brokenness was palpable, his pain felt like my own. All I wanted to do with every turn of the page was help him crawl out of the hole he was in…. This character has engrained himself into all of the cells that make up my body. Powerful but not afraid to beg my favorite combo. I love him. End my world Liam, I’m begging you.

Overall, I can’t recommend this book enough. It is everything you could want in a fantasy romance and don’t be like me and push it to the side, because it deserves to be your next read.

not my cup of tea AT ALL. first of all, the book was too long and i mean it☠️, second of all it was dragging so much, it became a chore continuing reading it.

This was a really nice read!! This extensive but captivating tale introduces a compelling interplay between the morally ambiguous fmc and the heroic mmc. Within the intricate layers of the mythical and magical world, the story reveals intermittent revelations while also weaving fresh mysteries. Death's recurrent role propels the narrative forward, particularly leveraging a captivating villainous protagonist. The book's powerful conclusion not only ties up threads but also sets the stage for heightened drama and intense intrigue in the sequel, promising further twists and turns in the ongoing saga.

From the way it was written, the author knew what elements could intrigue the average BookTok reader and doubled down on them. However, a lot of said details eventually got out of hand amid many sloppy efforts to establish a semi-coherent storyline. The writing was decent enough for a book in this genre, but the scattered typos were a clear indication that the book needed more care in editing and formatting. But even when the Book of Azrael was not as I had expected, I have to say I respect the hustle.

I apologise as This was a DNF for me. I found it difficult to get into I think it was more myself getting into a reading slump I will try again at some point but I can see many aspects of this that I would enjoy so looking forward to revisiting again sometime
