Talk about a slow burn...this book takes it to a whole new level!! I kept waiting and waiting for our main love interests to get together and man did the author take her time. Although we had to wait awhile, the pacing of the book went perfectly with the story. I love that we had almost a reverse grumpy sunshine -- the heroine was morally grey and the hero was the cinnamon roll. It was also a TRUE enemy to lovers, not just a dislike or stranger to lovers.
4.5⭐️
This has all the tropes I live & breathe for.
Enemies to lovers, slow burn, forbidden romance, & a badass FMC.
This book had me in a chokehold. Can’t wait for the special editions coming of this’
For some reason I forgot to put my review here.
Rating this a 5 star because of how amazing the character development, world building and plot twists are.
This cohesive story made me want to bathe in fantasy books again and again because of how well written it is. I am going to read the second book soon and I can’t wait to further immerse myself in the beauty of Amber’s world
I devoured this book! I really want a second one but im not sure if one is in the works. I couldn't get enough of the characters or the plot. highly recommend.
I tried to get into this book twice now, a few months apart, and I just could not. The beginning is very info-dumpy without making a lot of sense and I just didn't get invested at all. The writing was a bit cliche and the main character killed one of her "closest friends" and then kind of joked about it later. It was weird. Because of these issues I did not want to continue, so I had to DNF this one.
Achieved before I could download. Have since started reading after purchase, finding it good so far but not completely gripping me (due to me being a mood reader)
Loved this book and can’t wait to continue the story. Wow Amber Nicole knew how to keep me on my toes and wanting to not put down the book for anything.
I loved This story! Can’t wait for the next book 🤩definitely worth the hype it gets in social media.
This had a good plot but took me a while to get into. The lore was built well but could have been introduced to the readers in a different manner as it was a lot to take in.
Once into the story I found that Dianna's attitude bothered me, she was centuries years old but still acted childish even as the older sister.
I found some bits of writing got repeated needlessly and the descriptions of what the characters were wearing didn't need to be described every single time.
I enjoyed the plot and the slow burn as well as the ending but I don't feel the need to rush out to get the next book.
I received this ARC via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review
I put this book off for so long because I was so concerned that my expectations of it would set me up for disappointment, but for the most part I was very wrong! Some of the pacing felt slow & at times the writing felt a bit odd, but the overarching story was so so good! I love first person narration, I find it really immerses me in a story, but I know not everyone likes it! Can’t wait to read the next one!
This book is explosive.
I did feel that sometimes the story got a little bit confusing and it was the relationships throughout that kept my interest going. The relationship between Dianna and Liam is highly amusing and I love the little jibes that Dianna would throw his way, which he then eventually reciprocated.
Kaden is up there as one of the best book villains I've come across because the hate I feel for him at this very moment is rattling.
Now I need book 2...
HOW did I wait so long to read this?! It’s just what I was looking for to help cure my latest book hangover!
It took me a while to get to this, and i kept seeing shining reviews, but sadly it just didnt grab me.
As an arc I dont expect editing and formatting to be perfect, but I really struggled to get into the storytelling of it all because of repeated words/lines, dodgy sentence structure etc and because I felt I was constantly being told something instead of seeing it, hearing it, feeling it.
Theres been a lot of passion put into this book, and the world building is vast and ambitious (but in need of some real defining and a history) and the MC's have a lot of potential to develop into characters I could care about.
I am giving it 3 stars because I can really see the potential and just because it wasnt for me does not mean that its not a good story worthy of its intended audience.
I don't know why I waited so long to pick this up, because it's got everything I love.
Star crossed
Enemies to lovers
Strong bad ass shape shifting sarcastic blood thirsty female character who loves her sister.
And a King who's just a sad grumpy bear.
Thank you to the publisher for an early copy.
The book of Azrael was a gripping fantasy with high stakes. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the twists were so good!

Rarely will you see me read an 800-page book in two days. However, Amber V. Nicole, you have succeeded.
The characters, the magic systems, the lore, the plot, the evil, the good, the betrayals... I could go on and on about this book.
Truly incredible to read. I was not bored for a single moment. The rhythm is managed in a great. way, ups, and downs to actually digest what you read and the emotions it created.
I know the second book will not disappoint and I cannot understand how this hasn't gone viral. I have heard nothing but amazing things and the praises are deserving.
I throughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to dive into the second in the series. Dianna’s character is selfless and strong and I liked getting to know her. Liam is a complicated character that revealed himself more as the story continued. This book has a different take on gods versus monsters and I recommend it for any fantasy fan! Thank you for sending me this book for my honest opinion!
The book was great in general, i liked the author's writing style and i will make sure to check out any new books they might write. I liked the character developement but i just found it a bit too slow for me. At some moments in the book I cringed but that might just be me. I would reccomend this to people who love fantasy but i would also reccomend this for the fact that i really enjoyed the authors writing style.
A well paced slow burn fantasy romance with the well favoured enemies to lovers trope. The female mc is strong and definitely can kick ass, while the male mc has that whole I'll burn down the world doe touching her vibe, but also is a complete cinnamon roll.
I always struggle with pace and inner monologues and I didn't have that problem with this book.
The way the enemies to lovers was written is brilliant and I was totally obsessed with it. Loved that the side characters were also developed and not just there as numbers.
It's one of those books you read and only when you're done and take a deep breath, you look back and see the adventure you just lived.
