This book is explosive.

I did feel that sometimes the story got a little bit confusing and it was the relationships throughout that kept my interest going. The relationship between Dianna and Liam is highly amusing and I love the little jibes that Dianna would throw his way, which he then eventually reciprocated.

Kaden is up there as one of the best book villains I've come across because the hate I feel for him at this very moment is rattling.

Now I need book 2...

HOW did I wait so long to read this?! It’s just what I was looking for to help cure my latest book hangover!

It took me a while to get to this, and i kept seeing shining reviews, but sadly it just didnt grab me.
As an arc I dont expect editing and formatting to be perfect, but I really struggled to get into the storytelling of it all because of repeated words/lines, dodgy sentence structure etc and because I felt I was constantly being told something instead of seeing it, hearing it, feeling it.
Theres been a lot of passion put into this book, and the world building is vast and ambitious (but in need of some real defining and a history) and the MC's have a lot of potential to develop into characters I could care about.
I am giving it 3 stars because I can really see the potential and just because it wasnt for me does not mean that its not a good story worthy of its intended audience.

I don't know why I waited so long to pick this up, because it's got everything I love.
Star crossed
Enemies to lovers
Strong bad ass shape shifting sarcastic blood thirsty female character who loves her sister.
And a King who's just a sad grumpy bear.

Thank you to the publisher for an early copy.

The book of Azrael was a gripping fantasy with high stakes. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the twists were so good!

Rarely will you see me read an 800-page book in two days. However, Amber V. Nicole, you have succeeded.

The characters, the magic systems, the lore, the plot, the evil, the good, the betrayals... I could go on and on about this book.

Truly incredible to read. I was not bored for a single moment. The rhythm is managed in a great. way, ups, and downs to actually digest what you read and the emotions it created.

I know the second book will not disappoint and I cannot understand how this hasn't gone viral. I have heard nothing but amazing things and the praises are deserving.

I throughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to dive into the second in the series. Dianna’s character is selfless and strong and I liked getting to know her. Liam is a complicated character that revealed himself more as the story continued. This book has a different take on gods versus monsters and I recommend it for any fantasy fan! Thank you for sending me this book for my honest opinion!

The book was great in general, i liked the author's writing style and i will make sure to check out any new books they might write. I liked the character developement but i just found it a bit too slow for me. At some moments in the book I cringed but that might just be me. I would reccomend this to people who love fantasy but i would also reccomend this for the fact that i really enjoyed the authors writing style.

A well paced slow burn fantasy romance with the well favoured enemies to lovers trope. The female mc is strong and definitely can kick ass, while the male mc has that whole I'll burn down the world doe touching her vibe, but also is a complete cinnamon roll.

I always struggle with pace and inner monologues and I didn't have that problem with this book.

The way the enemies to lovers was written is brilliant and I was totally obsessed with it. Loved that the side characters were also developed and not just there as numbers.

It's one of those books you read and only when you're done and take a deep breath, you look back and see the adventure you just lived.

This book was amazing start to finish. Amber Nicole manages to fully immerse you into her world, and leave you wanting more. It was full of love, hate, power, revenge and betrayal. The world building was phenomenal and the characters had me hooked. There was so many good tropes;

-Enemies to lovers
-Slow burn
-FMC as a villian
-Epic world building
-Only one bed
-Forced proximity
-Forbidden romance

The characters were so complex. Dianna is an insanely well-written FMC, the fact that she introduced as the villain was different and so good. We don't normally see a lot of morally grey FMC, it was a nice change. Her personality was a breath of fresh air, she had such pure fierce determination in her every step. The way her sole purpose was to protect and keep her sister alive was beautiful and hurt my heart. Her powers were insane, I loved the shapeshifting abilities. Dianna had a great bantering nature and a good heart, that made me really connect to her character. She goes through so much but still manages to have that fire in her spirit. She is an amazing heroine.

Liam is the World Ender and insanely powerful, which just screams HOTT. I immediately fell in love with him and the grump he is. From the first time I met him I knew he was dealing with an emotional past, we get to see his highs and lows. He's very romantic and doesn't hide his feelings. He wasn't the typical grump MMC, he had substance to his character. Despite being a god, Liam also suffered from crippling depression and PTSD from his past. Even though he showed a lot of arrogance when interacting with others, he was also kind, caring, and protective, even towards his enemies

Together, Dianna and Liam had insane chemistry from the beginning. Even though they were literal enemies, proper enemies as Diana tried to kill him, you could see something was there from the start. But they seriously hated each other, and I did wonder at first how they would get over it. These two were full of sexual tension, longing, and deep, unrelenting feelings that neither of them wanted to acknowledge, the slowburn was a bit long but worth it. I loved that seeing them having to spend more than half the book forced to work together, being both turned on and annoyed at each other. Mix in a little bit of spice, I'm excited to see more of them in book two!

The side characters were so good in this book, they made the story even better. Dianna and Gabby's relationship was one of my favourites, I loved their sisterly bond. Dianna, is more than willing to sacrifice everything she has for the sake of her younger sister's life and happiness and has been doing so for around one thousand years, she just wanted to protect her. Adorable and heart-warming. I really liked Logan and Neverra, I hope we see more of them together.

The World building was phenonmal, I loved how everything came together as you got deeper into the story. There was an elaborate Urban fantasy world with gods, demon-like creatures, vampires, werewolves, witches, banshees, shadow-people, and more. All the different creatures did confuse me a little at first as well as some of the lore but the more you get into it, it's easier to understand and, the complex world building is absolutely well written and pulls you in. This book had great character development, an amazing plot with so many twists and turns and a ending that will break you, I loved this book and cannot wait for the next book!

I enjoyed reading this book so much!! It was such a captivating story, this book has me completely hooked! First of all, a book that involves gods? I’m sold. Second of all, the chemistry between Dianna and Liam is ‘chefs kiss’ . It honestly has everything I could want in a book, from enemies to lovers, to epic world building , slow burn romance, to dual pov. I would have liked it even more of the book had more spice in it, but other than that it was great!

Dianna is one badass fmc! She’s so fierce and would do anything to protect her sister, even if it means being a monster.
And that ending tho…. I’m so ready for book two!

Was it a 5 star read for me? No, because I do think the book had its flaws as well and could improve in some areas, but it definitely deserves 4 stars! The spice rating is like 1.5/2 🌶️

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Woah! What a crazy ride! This story was fast paced, filled with action and so much tension. I could not put it down. There were a few spelling errors and grammar errors, but overall the story was tight and a real page turner. The connection between Liam and Dianna felt so real, and I loved the banter between them. I would love to get more about Kaden though...who doesn't love a tortured villain! Looking forward to reading book 2.

This debut was truly original, had compelling characters, built relationships I cared about, and kept me guessing constantly. The enemies to lovers was the best kind of enemies to lovers: enemies TO FRIENDS to lovers. I can honestly say I’m jazzed to get my hands on the sequel.

I don’t criticize debut indie novels for typos or grammar, so my only critique is: it felt like the book could’ve ended organically around page 450, but it kept going to instead end on a cliffhanger. However I understand that indie authors often end on cliffhangers to encourage readers to get the next installment so I understand it ended the way it did.

Over all, I would recommend this book and look forward to getting my hands on the sequel soon! I’m excited to see the story flourish and grow

I didn't love the book so much that I'd think about it for a long time, but I'm excited to read the next one. The book has parts where it jumps back and forth in time, but it's not always clear when that happens. One moment you'll read about something that happened a week ago, then suddenly you're reading about the present or future. The trip wasn't exciting, and the book was too lengthy by 200 pages. The love story wasn't very smooth and Liam's character wasn't interesting. The story was good but the way it moved was strange. There were many parts where characters talked just for fun in the book, but some really important parts were only a few pages long.

This was a book that just wasn't for me. I kept trying to get into it and just couldn't. DNF around 15%. I'm sure there are people out there that would love this. I thought this was something I would love. Fantasy romance, enemies to lovers, paranormal. It just kept dragging.

*thank you to netgalley for an arc.

It will have you hooked from the start and needing to begin book 2 immediately!

Read this book if you like:

THE ENDING/CLIFFHANGER OF THIS BOOK IS INSANEEEEEEE I was literally CLUTCHING my chair and I stopped breathing. I was really immersed into the storyline and the characters, especially the loml Dianna. I really loved seeing the relationship between Dianna and Samkiel/Liam grow in a genuine way (the slowburn was burning just right 🔥😏). I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a fantasy romance with enemies-to-lovers, but be sure to check out TW’s.

This one was difficult to read and to get into the story. I don’t know if it is too raw and bloody or if it was the writing style.
