I love a good enemies to lovers story and this hit all the requirements!
This book had me gripped and I am already excited to start book 2. The world building was detailed. Kaden was a good “villain” but I still found appealing. Dianna and Liam’s relationship was great, had awesome banter, and again, enemies to lovers is always a winner. Gaby was a great side character with her charm and caring coming through. I enjoyed the dual POV.

Only complaint - I want more spice!!

I was getting a little confused while reading this and the world building was very slow. While I wanted to love this book, it just wasn’t for me unfortunately.

Soooo clunky. Though the premise sounded cool, I couldn't get past the quality of the writing and the sloooowwww worldbuilding.

This book is a chunker and it took me forever to read. I thought it was good. I thought some parts dragged on a little bit. I did like main character. I always love a strong and dangerous female main character. This book was dark and violent and steamy so make sure you check the trigger warnings before you read it.

Overall I thought it was a good read and I would read another book by this author.

This book really brought out so many emotions. I was anxious, heartbroken, & touched somehow all at once. The banter was top notch & one of my new favorite enemies to lovers.

World Ender meets Ender of Worlds...

A thousand years ago, Dianna gave up her life in the deserts of Erioa to save her dying sister. She called upon anyone who would listen, not expecting a monster far worse than any nightmare to answer. Now she does what Kaden asks, even if that means securing an ancient relic from the very creatures that hunt her.

A King thought long dead and long forgotten.

In the old world his name was Samkiel. In the new world it is Liam, but one title remains true throughout time. He is the World Ender, a myth to his enemies, a savior and King to those loyal to him. After the Gods War, he locked himself away, hiding from the world. He denied his crown and responsibilities, leaving the very ones who needed him most to deal with the fallout of the death of their homeworld. Now an attack on those he holds dear sends him back to the one realm he never wished to visit again and into the sights of an enemy he thought imprisoned eons ago. Now enemies older than time must put aside their differences and work together in hopes of saving both their world and every realm in between.

Thoughts :

It's an NA fantasy book. I like the whole magic system and the plot here. I love the characters just fine. They're very likable and I can't put it down. I definitely will read the second book asap. Thanks Netgalley for the early copy!

This book was provided to me as an eARC by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Dianna was an interesting character. I liked her at times but not always. She was strong and powerful but I felt that it could have been shown more than told, although I assume it will be in the sequel. I also liked how Liams character development was consisted through out the whole book and how his relationship with Dianna and the other characters progressed, especially because there wasn't a miscommunication trope. The plot was also very intense and interesting with many twists and turns. I also can't wait until the next book to see how the author will go on after that cliffhanger and how the plot will progress.

Okay let me just start by WOW!!!

Wtf I did not expect to like this as much as I did (because I did not really hear about this book before) but I was so wrong!!

It was such a good book with the perfect amount of spice but also secret and magic✨

I really hope there’s a second book🖤🖤

I loved this book! The Book of Azrael is everything I want in a fantasy series—interesting and developed world, complex characters, recognizable tropes that are subtle and don't feel overtly cliche. Right from the start you're thrust into the world. There's no slow introduction filled with info-dumps and tedious world building.

This is a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers romance set in a world filled with celestial beings and supernatural creatures that coexist with mortals. The world is complex and fully-realized. The progression of the character development and relationships are naturally paced yet still filled with depth. Even the slower parts of the plot (which are few and far between) hold your attention and serve a purpose in the character development. The stakes are high, the quips sarcastic, the emotions palpable and balanced with humor. I can't wait for book two!

Dark fantasy aesthetic but it’s more like national treasure meets frozen (sisterly bond and all ) interesting morally grey character. I liked his depiction in both works perspectives

I apologize for the delayed review I’ve had issues logging into my account.

The ENDING! The Book of Azrael was amazing. I heard so so many good things and it really did live up to expectations.

I tried to give this book a fair shot multiple times (hence why I'm giving feedback almost a year after publication. I just couldn't get into it. Perhaps I'm personally moving away from fantasy romance.

I did like the book but I was not in love with the book. It felt like a slow burn and slow burns are not my cup of tea so it was a challenge to get through. Also I was getting lost in the story, especially with the constant switching of names. I would like to get this book another go at a later date to give it another try.

The Book of Azrael by Amber Nicole has shape changing vampires, witches and gods, this is a fantastical story that also looks at the dangers of making deals.

I enjoyed the story and agreed with what Dianna's sister said to her about making deals with powerful men - that it's not always a good idea!

I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review, so my thanks to NetGalley and to Rose and Star Publishing.

Really wanted to get into this book but couldn't. I don't think it's fair to leave a review for a book I ended up not finishing. Nothing majorly wrong, just not for me.

First off I want to say that as soon as I saw the title I just had to get the book. Why? Because my dog’s name is Azrael. Also that cover !!
I loved this book. So well done and I was hooked from the very beginning .

I do recommend.

I received a copy of The Book of Azrael by Amber Nicole from NetGalley. This book has been on my reading list for months now, and it kept getting pushed back. This fantasy romance novel is action-packed, adventurous, and romantic. It’s the first book of the Gods and Monsters series.
Dianna gave up her life a thousand years ago to save her sister after the Gods' War. Kaden, a monster who heard her plea changes her. Now, she is a feared creature in the Otherworld and has to do whatever Kaden says. Samkiel is the King of Gods who has been in exile for thousands of years and has been dubbed the world-ender. Death of a celestial brings Samkiel aka Liam back from exile. Dianna and Liam cross paths, their kinds are sworn enemies. Dianna makes a deal with Liam, and both reluctantly team up to stop Kaden from finding an ancient text, The Book of Azrael.
Initially, it was a little slow when the author was building up the world. It took me a while to completely immerse myself in the world. But, once Samkiel aka Liam enters the equation, the pace immediately picks up. I loved the slow burn and enemies-to-lovers trope for Liam and Dianna. Both of them are aware, that they are enemies but know they need to work together. When they start spending time together, then they try to understand each other and become friends. Both of these characters on paper are different, one is a monster, and the other is a God, but they make sense together.
The Book of Azrael is an extremely interesting fantasy romance. The world Amber Nicole has created, and these characters are amazing. I don’t know why I didn’t read this book sooner. The elements of romance, action, and adventure are perfectly balanced. I loved Liam and Dianna’s characters. They are so badass, and their chemistry is off the charts. I can’t wait to read the second book of the series and see how Liam and Dianna's story continues.
