I'm not completely sure what made this just ok for me. There were parts I definitely liked, mostly involving the dog, Garbage Disposal. I think it was that the major components of the plot were unfocused. At one point, Harley's involvement in Teagan's business is super important yet nothing much is really said about it. Once the focus was on the romantic relationship, the sisters' relationship wasn't discussed much. It didn't seem like there was a purpose behind it or there was resolution that would lead to that approach.

The h and her twins and their dog are headed to her deceased grandma’s house. Her ex husband has lost everything from his gambling. She moves in and her old crush is living next door with his daughter who is getting ready to go to college. They have to decide if a relationship between them will work. Familial relationships have to be worked out.

Loved this modern take on a Stella got her groove back

The sand and surf of California’s coastal Pacific Cove is the charming backdrop for New York Times bestselling author Marina Adair’s fun and sexy novel about getting back on track after life makes a sharp left turn—and finding you’ve arrived in just the right place to get back your mojo . . .

Teagan Bianchi has survived a road trip with rambunctious toddler twins and a large mutt named Garbage Disposal. She clings to a tattered scrap of hope that moving into her late grandmother’s house is the best way to repair her failing business—and the sad shreds of her life—after the man who promised her forever lost everything they had. But she’s barely arrived when she finds herself face to face with her teenage crush, now an irresistible man—who still happens to live next door . . .

Veterinarian Colin West is closer to being an empty nester than a soccer dad. His marriage lasted only long enough to give him his beloved daughter, and he has no regrets. But as she readies for college, Colin contemplates his own future—which is, of course, exactly when his past shows up, as gorgeous as ever, and twice as fascinating. But Teagan torpedoed his plans once before. Is he crazy to consider letting her into his life again? Is Teagan ready to admit what she’s really afraid of? Could this unexpected “situationship” be forever?

***Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington Books and Marina Adair. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own.***

Wow did I ever love this book. I was pulled into its vortex from the first page. Teagan was so easy to relate to, not only as a mom but a sister and daughter/granddaughter as well. She works so damn hard to conceal all of her worries and disappointments but they’re right there on her sleeve for anyone paying attention. And boy is Colin paying attention. The chemistry between the 2 MCs is off the charts. Every feeling and memory they shared as teens is still there, but with the wisdom and experience of age they’re much more deliberate and careful with each step they take. Family is definitely a big theme in this book, and I thought Adair did a tremendous job weaving it into the fabric of this story. I wasn’t sure how to feel about Harley, Teagan’s sister, at the beginning of the book, but she really wormed her way into my heart and showed a lot of growth.

There were a lot of things to love about this book. I loved that when Colin and Teagan had a disagreement, they were quick to apologize and listen to what the other person had to say. They were extremely supportive of one another. I loved that when they were together, they were both so focused on the other, very in the moment and conscious of what was happening between them. What I think set this story apart for me was how both Teagan and Colin had this internal monologue warning them against revisiting the past or restarting something at the current points of their lives, but what they thought just wouldn’t translate to their words. It gave a wonderful sense of kismet.

This book made me so happy! It is different from other Adair books, but I love it all the same. Sisters; second chance, new love, and family make up this precious story! Also there is a dog and they live on the beach, what more can you need?! This book NEEDS to be read by all romance lovers because Adair has done it again!!

Situationship was not my favorite Adair book. About 70% of the way through I was ready to be done. Typical boy next door trope with kids and a wonky ex thrown in. Liked the Harley storyline, but Teagan and Colin were kind of meh.

I received a free eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

If the cover doesn't hook you then I don't know what will because wooow this book was everything I needed . I absolutely think every woman should read this book.

The book follows Teagan who survives a road trip with her twins and Garbage disposal (her dog) in search of a new start at her late grandmother's house. Her new starts gets an upgrade when she discovers that she lives next door to her teenage crush who is still irresistible. The best part about laid plans is they can be disrupted. Absolutely loved and want everyone to read it.

Thank you Kensington Books and NetGalley for this eARC!

I’ve always meant to read a Marina Adair book and when I saw this ARC available online I had to request it. Once I started reading I very quickly fell in love with the characters and the setting. I could imagine all the shenanigans Poppy, Lily abs GD got up to and couldn’t help rooting for Harley and Teagan. Sweet, not too cheesy and funny, this was exactly what I needed. Will definitely be reading another Adair book!
