I was interested in this audiobook because it won UK's Business Book of the Year Award in 2021. As a worker bee in corporate America, I read a fair number of business books.
This audiobook is narrated by Raj Ghatak who speaks clearly and conveys the authors' ideas well.
"The Unfair Advantage" is exactly that - Life is unfair, you may be born a prince or a pauper, be shy or extraverted, be athletic or academic, etc - everyone is different and born under different circumstances, be it place of birth, family background, wealth, intelligence, academic performance, connection, race and on and on. Use your circumstances to your advantage. Hard work is overrated. Idea is also overrated. Use your timing and location so that you can be at the right place and right time. How? well, that's the elusive part that I didn't feel deeply explained in the book. I agree with the book's concept itself to use any "advantage" to your benefit; however, there were not too many practical applications or suggestions -" now you realize life is unfair, which I already knew, then what!?" Overall I didn't feel I learned anything new personally. It's a good book if you think life is fair, or life should be fair. If you already know life is unfair, then I say skip this book.
