This was so good on audio! Thrillers and suspense can be so hit or miss on audio and I thought this was really well done.
This is my first Carola Lovering book and I will say I was highly impressed. I was pretty much intrigued by chapter 2 and was sucked into the world of Molly, Sisi, Hunter, Jake and of course Stella. I don't know if this book was that suspenseful but it was binge worthy and a complete whirlwind.
I find authors usually have a hard time writing children into books but Stella was very much adorable, nosy and everything a child 3-5 needs to be.
The audio was fantastic. You can never go wrong with Zachary Webber & Karissa Vacker. Caitlin Davies was a new narrator for me and I really enjoyed her.
overall, I think the story was smart, well written and very intriguing. I do wish there was a little more closed up, a little more Hunter and Molly but understand that this isn't Hunters story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Molly had fallen for handsome, frontman Jake when she was young and living in Brooklyn. now she is married with a six year old and living in suburban Connecticut. Though she aspires to be a writer, she’s a yoga teacher. She feels she doesn’t fit in until she meets Sabrina who, like Molly is going through fertility issues. The story is told in the present as well as through flashbacks. It was also told from multiple viewpoints. Lovering includes many twists and turns. I had trouble turning it off. I thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this audio ARC.
It took me a little while to get into the book, as the pace seemed slow at the beginning. I do think this could have been edited down about 20% to make a taughter read. But that being said, I liked the book and the twists and turns, which came faster toward the end, kept my interest. I would read more by this author, for sure!

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it.
It is definitely a romantic suspense - so don’t expect a thriller. There are a decent amount of twist and turns throughout, and each time I thought I knew the ending I was wrong.
Who doesn’t want to experience young love again? The tone of the book was all about angst, jealousy, and growing up!
Overall, I liked “the one that got away” tone of the book and enjoyed the narration of all the characters.

This is NOT a thriller!!
Who decided to market this one as a thriller? It's a weird love novel with an obsessive obsession premise. Why or why did she decide to start all that drama and mess. SHe was married to the man she wanted... This was just strange
What a great thriller! Really enjoyed this one! It wasn’t what I expected but I enjoyed it! I liked how the main character was written
Well, it kept my attention at least, but can't say I really thoroughly enjoyed it. I was invested, and a couple of the reveals were pretty good, but the ending also felt really rushed and lackluster and too neat and tidy. Everything felt wrapped up too perfectly and wasn't believable. Everyone got a happy ending, including the woman who spent the entire book lying and using people like puppets and, oh yeah, pushed a pregnant woman down some stairs, causing her to lose her baby.... With no repercussion?? Sabrina's entire ending arc made absolutely no sense.
So juicy and entertaining! This reminded me of Big Little Lies meets Joe Goldberg from
YOU. All of the characters were flawed, but still lovable. The narration was perfect! So easy and fun to listen to, and the story was pure entertainment. I love books where we can peek into a high society lifestyle and see that it’s not all as it seems! Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for access to this audiobook in exchange of my honest review.
4.5 stars
I want to preface by saying that I was so surprised how much I ended up loving this book .
Story : Molly Diamond is a 23 year old barista that has a dream of becoming a writer. One night she goes to a concert and meets Jake Danner, the lead singer of a popular band. It's almost love at first sight . They fall fast
and hard for each other. Soon, Jake and his band starts climbing the music charts with a hit song he had written exclusively for Molly. Due to external sources their relationship ends. Fast forward to almost almost a decade later, Molly is married to Hunter and has a five-year-old daughter named Stella. Despite Molly ‘s dream of becoming a writer she is now working as a yoga instructor. Molly is happy, however since she and her family moved to a wealthy suburb, she finds it difficult to connect with friends. Then Sabrina walks into her life. Molly enjoys Sabrina's company. Little does she know that Sabrina has a hidden evil a plan and Molly is at the center of the plan.
Narration: I can introspectively see this will be polarizing book that readers will either enjoy or find fault with. I truly enjoyed listening to the audio and the narrators. In my
opinion the narrator elevated the story.
Some readers may be slightly disappointed because the book is being marketed as a mystery/thriller, and it is not quite a thriller.
Nevertheless, I couldn't stop listening to the audiobook it was highly addictive. Definitely worth the read or the listen. I loved it !!!
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Macmillan Audio and NetGalley who provided me with ARC of this audiobook in

Such a gripping and compelling read! You find absolutely no love for the antagonist from the beginning of a book to the end. Meaning don’t hope for a revelation to occur in her life. Which means get ready for an interesting ride as the author takes us on a journey of love, deceit, anger, miscommunication and more.

Book Review:
Is all fair in Love? For C.C/ Sabrina l, she definitely believes it is…. And will stop at nothing short of everything to get what she feels she deserves- the love and attention of Jake Danner.
I felt like this one had so much promise and I was just hoping from more from the ending as I was intrigued and wondering when the twists would come as we kept getting more information, but the twists just fell so flat and in the end I wonder, what was the point?
This book follows two women that had an epic love for one and an obsession for the other with the same man with interweaving timeframes and the impact of that weaving of the relationships when obsession wasn’t satisfied.
We get the back and forth of timeline for past and present in this book that gives the reader clues towards the twists that are coming and helps us see how obsession can impact relationships, when the person obsessed has lost control. Additionally, the ending where no one ended up with Jake Danner it made me wonder what the point was of the plot and obsession was as it didn’t seem to have that big moment that made the book. Personally, I would have loved for a more dramatic ending where it went dark to show the greater impact of obsession.
Thank you NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC of this audiobook! I am so thankful to obtain a copy to listen to it in advance of its release!
I really enjoyed this book- particularly good as an audiobook. Molly is a very relatable, layered protagonist who truly was shaped by the romance of her life-- with rock star Jake Danner... But life happens, and a lot of problems arise that are devised by another woman in Jake's life. The secrets, the lies and the deceptions make the plot thick and juicy, with Sabrina singularly focused on getting the guy and making sure he doesn't have any lingering feelings for Molly. This is a fun quick read that really made me think about relationships in our twenties and the ways our needs and love languages change as we mature. Everyone has a breakup story, but not everyone has the relationship made into a hit song, and the idea of that stirs too many feelings.
I would read another book by this author! Three narrators are on this audiobook , and in particular I absolutely LOVE Caitlin Davies!
I love this book! I was so captivated from the start. The characters are so relatable and you grow to really love them. My favorite thing about them is that it reminded me that not everyone is perfect. The suspense left me on the edge of my seat and didn’t disappoint me at all. The end left me satisfied and I am so excited to see other work from this author.
I love "Can't Look Away"! I've been a fan of Carola since "Tell me Lies" and find her mastery of complex relationships and balance with thrill masterful.
Thank you to NetGalley, author Carola Lovering, and Macmillan Audio for St. Martin’s Press for my advanced audiobook copy of Can’t Look Away.
While this book is categorized as a thriller, I’d probably call it a drama—maybe even a romantic suspense?— with a few dark moments. Despite its lack of suspense, this book is very enjoyable. Narrators Caitlin Davies, Karissa Vacker, and Zachary Webber create an encapsulating environment for the listener and allow for some *serious* tapping in to the characters’ thoughts and motives. They’re immediate favorites of mine.

Meet Molly. Molly is an aspiring writer in NYC who falls head over heels in love with musician, Jake. Jake NEVER leaves Molly’s mind, even years later when their love has fizzled out (or, rather, when someone was a total jerk and no longer deserved the other’s love) and she’s remarried, with a child. Molly now lives in the ‘burbs with hubby Hunter and their daughter Stella where she meets a new friend, Sabrina. Sabrina has a ulterior motive to their friendship, though, and no one sees it coming.
As mentioned, this is not a thriller. The book has no twists, turns, or surprise endings (there is one twist but it’s very predictable, in my opinion). The story is heavily character-driven and while I enjoyed the characters (well, except for Sabrina), I didn’t feel this fit the bill of expectations. Despite all this, I still very much enjoyed the storytelling and would recommend.
4⭐️
I have read some mixed reviews, but I LOVED this book. It hooked my attention from early on and I loved the twists and turns of the story. Very Desperate Housewives vibes. Molly is stuck in the middle of her first love and the crazy woman that doesn't want her to have him. I loved the development of the characters and the ending made me so happy.
I absolutely LOVED Lovering's last suspense thriller so I was really excited to read this one. This one is along the same vein with it being part domestic thriller with some romantic suspense thrown in. I thought the character development in this was excellent and gave us a great view of how different (and unhinged) the two main characters are. I really couldn't figure out how this was going to play out and end for everyone but I loved watching it unravel. This was full of twists and suspense. The last bit twist regarding Molly's child was really excellent. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I know it’s a good audiobook when I listen to the entire thing in a matter of a day. This was an easy 5 star ⭐️ and I cannot wait until I can read more by this author.
It is a typical domestic thriller with a side of romance, a long triangle and famous rockstar. What else could you want? I loved the multiple POVs and the multiple timelines that all merged to make it all come together seamlessly.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.
Thoroughly enjoyed CAN’T LOOK AWAY. ! The narrators, Caitlin Davies, Karissa Vacker, and Zachery Webber did an excellent job bring this story alive.
