It has been almost a year since Isabelle Drake’s toddler son, Mason was taken from his crib in the middle of the night while Isabelle and her husband Ben slept in the next room. Over the last year, Isabelle has been functioning on minimal sleep and has left no stone unturned in trying to find her son – hounding the police who have been unsuccessful in finding any clues, giving interviews and investigating the backgrounds of her friends and neighbors and attendees of the true-crime conferences she attends. Despite her initial reluctance she also agrees to participate in a true-crime podcast hosted by Waylon Spencer, who has been successful in solving a cold case in the past and who was one of the attendees at a conference in which Isabelle speaks about her son’s disappearance. Isabelle's marriage has fallen apart after Mason’s disappearance and her husband Ben has apparently accepted that Mason is never coming home. He has moved on and is now involved with another woman. But nothing has deterred Isabelle from her efforts to find her child.

As the narrative progresses we are taken back to Isabelle’s childhood and the traumatic events that have haunted her throughout her life – events for which Isabelle holds herself responsible. We also get to know more about her relationship with her husband Ben – how they met, their marriage, and subsequent events. While Isabelle tries to zero in on possible suspects, often acting impulsively in confronting those whom she suspects, it becomes clear that she is also a suspect in her son’s disappearance in the eyes of the police and others around her. With no one above suspicion and over a year since Mason was taken, will Isabelle be able to figure out what happened on that fateful night? Who took Mason? Is he still alive? Who can she trust to help her? Can she even trust her own memories of that night?

All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham is an absorbing read! Suspense and twists, lies and deception, flawed characters and an intriguing well-structured plot make for an engaging psychological thriller. The narrative is shared completely from Isabelle’s PoV and moves back and forth between the present day with flashbacks from her relationship with Ben and chapters devoted to her childhood. I wasn't the biggest fan of Stacy Willingham’s previous novel, A Flicker in the Dark , but I thoroughly enjoyed All the Dangerous Things. Though the pace does wane in parts, I enjoyed the plot development and the twists and turns along the way. Though the primary mystery is that of Mason’s disappearance, a lot is going on in Isabelle’s life and the author seamlessly weaves past events into the primary narrative and expertly brings it all together in the end. The author touches upon themes of trauma, marriage, motherhood and mental health in this story. I won’t say that the end wasn’t entirely unpredictable but I was definitely surprised by how we got there. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Many thanks to Stacy Willingham, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the eGalley of this engrossing novel. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

All the Dangerous Things follows Isabelle, a mother haunted by the disappearance of her infant son a year ago. Consumed by insomnia and grief, Isabelle relentlessly seeks answers, even as she begins to question her own memories and reality. With an intriguing premise, the story weaves suspense, psychological tension, and a mother's desperation into a gripping narrative. Stacy Willingham delivers a solid 4-star book, with twists that keep you hooked and characters that feel raw and real. It's a compelling mystery that kept me invested until the end.

This was a great read. It was twist after twist and not predictable at all. If you're looking for an entertainment book that will keep you guessing this is definitely the one. I would give it five out of five stars.

At first I had a hard time getting into this one. But I am glad I stuck with it because the ending just blew my mind. After Isabelles toddler son Mason was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night. Isabelle cannot eat or sleep until she gets him back. The case runs cold and he starts public speaking to bring awareness. A podcaster begins asking questions bringing up her own childhood.

Thank you netgalley for an arc.

I had seen such mixed reviews for this one and held off reading. Gah, when will I learn that what works for me may not work for others and the same way for what works for others may not be for me. I loved this book. I thought it was well written and the chapters were set up in a way to make flipping to the next chapter exciting but also immediately necessary. I can relate to the lack of sleep and just how much that can affect you in ALL the ways. An unreliable narrator just hits different. Great book.

This was my first Stacy Willingham book, and it will not be my last! This book was published a while ago, so I will keep this brief. I am not always in the mood for a thriller, but this was great! A child is taken, and the mother ends up getting help from a true crime podcaster, when it looks like everyone else has moved on. This book kept me intrigued, and while not the best one I have read, was still great!

I was given an advanced reader's copy via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I recommend all of Stacy Willingham’s psychological thriller novels. They are full of twists and keeps the reader guessing and engaged.
All The Dangerous Things kept me on the edge of my seat and jumpy. Told in dual time line but written to intertwine how the past effects the present psyche.
Told by Isabelle both past and present.
Isabelle is a sleepwalker in her preteen years and told she would out grow this. Something tragic happens in her childhood family. Isabelle recalls there is a coverup but can’t square the circle to make it all tie together.
Present day she is married and has a son that was kidnapped from his crib. She makes public appearances pleading for his whereabouts. She follows up the speeches with in-depth searches of the audience trying to find a connection.
Her husband has left her and now she sleeps less. With sleep deprivation she is more confused then ever. She can’t trust herself. Her past haunts her and her missing child devastates her and she is beginning to believe the two are linked.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/ Minotaur Books for an ARC in exchange for my review.

Stepping out of my comfort zone with a thriller! One of the biggest issues I run into is feeling like thrillers lose my attention around the mid-way mark, but All the Dangerous Things kept me hooked from start to finish! Willingham writes an unreliable narrator SO well, you truly question everything and even when you think you may know the answer, you feel like you can't be 100% sure.

The character development was also so well done in ATDT! Truly like you know each of them personally, you know why they're making (occasionally terrible) decisions and why they're reacting to certain things the way they do. They're so fully fleshed out and it makes for an immersive thriller read. Had the best time on the edge of my seat with this one!

4.5 Stars!

My God I could barely even read this book out of ho terrifying the blurb was!

A year ago, Isabelle’s toddler son, Mason, was taken in the middle of the night. Since then, she hasn’t been able to sleep for more than the occasional short nap, with her whole focus dedicated to finding Mason. Her marriage has fallen apart and her husband, Ben, has moved out and is ready to "move on."

Without any new leads and in an effort to get more exposure and keep the case alive, Isabelle retells her experience in the true crime circuits, much to the dismay of her husband and the detective in charge of Mason’s case. Isabelle opens herself up to speculation, people suspicious of the parents, but she doesn’t care as long as it helps find her son.

Along comes Waylon, a new podcaster offering to feature Mason’s case in a series. As Isabelle is interviewed and recounts Mason’s disappearance, questions surface not only about that awful night but about Isabelle and Ben’s past.

My heart went out to Isabelle. This is a mother’s worst nightmare, and I could easily put myself in her shoes not caring about anything else except finding my child. Ben was something else! The podcast was the perfect vehicle for us as readers (or listeners) to get the history of how Ben and Isabelle met and fell in love, and it’s not all hearts and roses. Facts about Isabelle’s childhood come out, also throwing a worrisome dimension to the story.

Oh, this was a twisty mystery! I guessed at some things but was totally shocked by others! Once I got into the story I couldn’t stop listening because I needed to know what happened and how it’d all turn out! So good!

I enjoyed Stacy Willingham’s debut, A Flicker in the Dark, last year and I’m happy to say All the Dangerous Things was even better!

Karissa Vacker’s performance enhanced an already captivating story. Her voice is rich and smooth and each character was defined and unique. I listened at my usual 1.5x-1.75x the normal speed.

This book was SO SO GOOD. I really love the writing style of the author and the story managed to stay intriguing until the very end. I read it in one-sitting. I really like how things played out and am definitely looking forward to read the author's next book!

This was a good, albeit slightly average, thriller. New motherhood is affecting Isabelle and taking a toll on her daily life. Good domestic thriller, I'm between 3-4 stars but rounding down bc I didn't love it.

LOVED this book can't recommend it and the author enough. Super twisty and had me guessing until the end!

One year ago, Isabelle Drake's life changed forever: her toddler son, Mason, was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night while she and her husband were asleep in the next room. With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her—literally.

Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year.

Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can’t go on this way forever. In hopes of jarring loose a new witness or buried clue, she agrees to be interviewed by a true-crime podcaster—but his interest in Isabelle's past makes her nervous.

I thought I would get tired of the podcast trope but it turns out I'm really not. This book had me questioning a lot of things and the atmosphere was very tense the entire time. Enjoyed the ending it wasn't predictable at all.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for my copy in exchange for this review.

I keep trying to love her books but they just aren’t doing it for me. They all feel very YA and surface area stories. They just don’t stick with me.

This book is told in 1st person from Isabelle/Izzy’s POV with dual timelines. I loved that Izzy was an unreliable narrator. Short chapters that left me wanting more. Loved that it discusses the guilt that mothers and women feel as well as the pressure to be perfect. Mental health of mothers discussed. Recommend!

A perfect thriller read! There were a lot of twists and turns in this book, which I really appreciated. I thought I had an idea how it was going to end, figuring it a cliche, but I was genuinely surprised by the outcome.

The book is entertaining and easy to read but also has some valuable themes around motherhood, self-perception, reality vs fiction, marriage.

Stacy Willingham did it again! This book moved at a steady pace and kept me guessing. I love unreliable narrators and the podcast element added fun to the story. I read this one in 2 sittings...it's a great popcorn thriller but doesn't have a lot of staying power. Fun during the journey though!

This was a dark book with characters that you can't help but pity. I was consumed by the mystery and couldn't put it down until I found out what happened!

finished this 6 days ago & I’m STILL thinking about it! I read another (amazing) book after this & started another one… this is still stuck in my brain. For me, that is the sign of a fantastic thriller, guys. Heartbreaking, but amazing. Honestly. There are so many twists & turns that I did NOT see coming. I actually sat down & talked through it afterwards with my hubs.. fully intending to force him to read it because he is amazing at figuring out plots & I really wanted to see if he could figure it out. BUT I couldn’t keep my mouth shut & blabbed a major plot twist. So, you know what? I’m going to stop talking now. Go read this book.

Stacy Willingham does it again!! She knows how to write a thriller. This thriller had so many twists and turns that I couldn't put it down. it was wild!! I was not expecting that ending what's so ever. like who would have thought all along he was alive and well. I couldn't believe her husband put her through all of that. he was a true psychopath. definitely would have done anything to get a woman in bed with him. I have recommend this book to all my friends,
